The enterprises and companies dealing with the oil transportation and operation of oil pipeline pay special attention to the improvement of methods for spill detection and prevention of oil losses. The improvement of the methods and means of failure prevention, development of reliable ways of pipeline protection from corrosion, as well as the methods of well-timed specifiction of damage point and loss elimination are necessary for efficient control of oil losses in the failures. The paper analyzes the reasons for occurring failures in the main pipelines. The graphic-analytical method for definition of damage point within the pipeline is presented as well.

The main method of steel hull protection from corrosion is sacrificial protection. Today the performance assessment of the sacrificial protection is difficult and laborious problem which demands substantial costs and application of job-dedicated machinery. In the article the possibility of the exception of expensive visual inspection to control cathodic protection systems of steel hulls is proved. It allows reducing the complexity of control and the costs of its implementation. Measurements the potential of the ship's hull and the strength of protection current running on a reference electrode in six control points have been carried out to determine the technical condition of cathodic protection systems in the studied vessels. Measurements of control parameters were performed three times; precision of measurements is confirmed by mathematical and statistical methods.

Imidazoline derivatives have been synthesized based on the synthetic petroleum acids (SPA) and diethylentriamine. Complexes were prepared from these compounds and HCl in ratio 1:1, 1:2, 1:3. 20% solution of the complexes were prepared in aqueous isopropyl alcohol. The kinetic effect of steel corrosion in 1% NaCl solution saturated with CO2 were studied ACM Gill AC potentiometer. It was found that, the imidazoline derivatives complexes based on the SPA and DETA with HCl in molar ratio 1:1 of 25 ppm concentration protection from corrosion is 83,5%, 100 ppm  concentration – 97,1%; the proportion of 1:2 complex of  25 ppm – 82,8%, 100 ppm  concentration – 97,3%, but in the case of the 1:3 complex shows the best result - 94 and 98,8%.

The cold spray technology is an innovative technique used to coat metallic and non-metallic substrates for protection from corrosion and/or to improve surface functionalities. It is well known that surface degradation (i.e. corrosion) is not merely an aesthetic issue; its consequences may affect the structural behaviour and the usability of structures or parts of them. This paper addresses the use of cold spray technology as a potential innovative tool for the repair of an extruded 6005A-T6 aluminium alloy item. The specimens investigated have a complex geometry and are used for a new kind of bolt-channel joints to secure the passenger seats to the frame of buses. In order to simulate environmental degradation, samples were exposed to aerated synthetic seawater for 15, 60 and 240 days and, subsequently, cold spray coated using a pure aluminium powder. Results acquired show that layers obtained using Cold Spray process are effective against corrosion, restore volume and geometry shape of corroded metals components without showing visible traces of the repair.
