Successful management of the dairy industry is closely related to rearing healthy calves. The proper development of the gastrointestinal canal is crucial to reach this goal. One of the strategies to promote this development is the addition of feed additives to the diet. This research aimed to determine the impact of prebiotic inulin and a new, not commercially available synbiotic (mix of prebiotic inulin and probiotic S. cerevisiae strain 1026) on the development of the gastrointestinal canal of calves by comparing the weight of the stomach, its relative ratio to body weight and evaluating pH, and histological changes in different parts of the gastrointestinal canal and assess whether or not the addition of inulin to the yeast S. cerevisiae improves the abovementioned parameters. We used prebiotic inulin (6 g) and a synbiotic (prebiotic inulin 6 g and probiotic Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain 1026, 5 g). The 56-day long research was conducted with fifteen crossbreed calves (32 ± 6 days old) organized in the control group (CoG), the prebiotic group (PreG), and the synbiotic group (SynG). We determined pH, morphological parameters of different parts of the digestive canal, and morphometric parameters of the stomach. The addition of prebiotic inulin to calves’ diet causes the increase of pH in rumen, abomasum, and intestines but when inulin was added to S. cerevisiae, pH decreased and was even lower than in the control group. Prebiotic inulin and its synbiotic with yeast S. cerevisiae positively impact the development of almost all morphological structures of rumen saccus dorsalis, rumen saccus ventralis, and intestine; moreover, calves from the synbiotic group showed better results in virtually all parameters. However, both inulin and synbiotic did not affect the weight and relative weight of different parts of the stomach. Tested synbiotic has the potential to promote the development of the rumen and other parts of the digestive canal of calves.

From the above protocols, it can be seen that the clinical picture of poisoning was very similar in all animals. Usually the first symptom was lethargy, to which inactivity was added; lethargy intensified and at times passed, as it were, into a stunned state. Dispatch of the gastrointestinal canal was not built up significantly and for a short time, and in cats, more or less pronounced salivation appeared.

At the suggestion of prof. Lhlein's author experimented at the Giessen clinic with Hydrastininum muriaticum. This drug was offered to patients or by mouth in the form of gelatin capsules, the size of a decent pill, containing 0.025 Hydrast. muriat., or under the skin in the form of a sterilized solution containing 0.025-0.1 of this agent. When applying this agent inside or under the skin, the author did not observe any side effects. The functions of the gastrointestinal canal were not disturbed, there were no abscesses at the injection site.

Gastrointestinal nematodes are prevalent among dogs in Ukraine and most other countries. Economic losses in dog breeding for invasive diseases are diffi cult to calculate in material terms, but they are clearly manifested in terms of animal health. Therefore, the purpose of the research was to fi nd out the epizootic situation regarding the nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract in dogs of diff erent age, sex and breed groups in the Belotserkovsky district of Kyiv region. The studies were conducted on the territory of single-sector private sector farms of 15 settlements of Belotserkovsky district and on the territories of shelters for homeless animals of Belaya Tserkov. Koprovoskopichesky researches were carried out by the combined method standardized by Kotelnikov - Hrenov. According to the results of coprovoscopy of samples from dogs of the Belotserkovsky area, a signifi cant spread of nematodes of the gastrointestinal canal was established (EI was 50.18%). Eggs of such nematodes as Trichuris vulpis, Toxocara canis, Ancylostoma caninum, Toxascaris leonina, Strongyloides stercoralis were isolated. Diseases were recorded in the form of mono-invasions, among which the largest proportion of the aff ected were trihuriza (27.11%), toxocariasis (6.59), ankylostomosis (1.83%), and myxinvasions, which again led the trichuris. Animals from birth to 7 years were most aff ected. In terms of gender, females were more vulnerable. The highest incidence of invasion was among outbred dogs (51.56%). Most dogs in this group are aff ected by trichuris (54.55%) and myxinvasia (29.29%), which also included T. vulpis. Breeds German Shepherd, Dachshund, Russian Spaniel had the highest percentage of nematode infestations among all studied breeds. The leader among pathogens was T. vulpis, which covered more than half (52.63%) of rocks, myxinvasions were 28.94%, which included T. vulpis. The breeds of the Belgian shepherd, shih-tzu, Russian-European chamomile, alabai were resistant. Key words: dog, invasion, trichrosis, toxocariasis, ankylostomosis, toxascarose, distribution, koproovoskopichni research, extensiveness of invasion, intensity of invasion.

According to current conception of bronchial asthma treatment, the main goals are symptoms control and good life quality. Inhalation is the preferred route of drug administration for patients with airway diseases such as asthma. Inhalation delivers drugs directly to the airways and thereby the effective dose can be small compared with oral therapy (in 20 times), the risk of systemic side effects is reduced, it could be used for poorly soluble drugs which are not absorbed in the gastrointestinal canal. Inhalation is the route of drug administration and can be used for delivery of bronchodilators, mucolytics, steroids, and cromoglicate acid drugs as well.
