Abstract : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the context, input, process, and product of the character education program at the Kanaan Christian School Semarang. The results showed: (1) Context, Kanaan Christian School Semarang really needs a character education program; (2) Input, character education at the Kanaan Christian School Semarang refers to the School's Vision and Mission and also the 2013 Curriculum (K-13); (3) The process, the implementation of the character education program at the Kanaan Christian School Semarang, the teacher carries out the learning according to the lesson plans that have been made, by adding character education values that are adjusted to the topics contained in basic competencies; (4) Products, the results of the character education program at the Kanaan Christian School Semarang, namely the presence of 5S culture (Greetings, Smiles, Greetings, Polite and Courtesy) and through the character assessment form. Overall, the character education program at the Kanaan Christian School Semarang has fulfilled the program objectives that have been previously set.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi konteks, masukan, proses, dan produk program pendidikan karakter di Sekolah Kristen Kanaan Semarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Konteks, Sekolah Kristen Kanaan Semarang sangat membutuhkan program pendidikan karakter; (2) Input, pendidikan karakter di Sekolah Kristen Kanaan Semarang mengacu pada Visi dan Misi Sekolah serta Kurikulum 2013 (K-13); (3) Proses, pelaksanaan program pendidikan karakter di Sekolah Kristen Kanaan Semarang, guru melaksanakan pembelajaran sesuai RPP yang telah dibuat, dengan menambahkan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang disesuaikan dengan topik yang terdapat pada materi pokok. kompetensi; (4) Produk, hasil program pendidikan karakter di Sekolah Kristen Kanaan Semarang yaitu adanya budaya 5S (Salam, Senyum, Salam, Sopan dan Sopan) dan melalui formulir penilaian karakter. Secara keseluruhan, program pendidikan karakter di Sekolah Kristen Kanaan Semarang telah memenuhi tujuan program yang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya.

Braille Display is a device which helps the visually impaired to read a text file in Braille format and as well receive an audio output of the text file. It gives an option to the user whether to receive output in terms of braille or audio. Braille is a tactile writing language of raised dots using which blinds and visually impaired people read and write through touch. The pattern of raised dots can be read with the fingers by blinds. The number and arrangement of these dots forms alphabets, numbers and special characters. The braille output in Braille display is observed in Braille text popper device which is made up of a plate having holes. Solenoids are placed under each hole to raise or lower the braille pin which will emerge through perforations on the top plate to form a Braille dot. The perforations serve as guides for the pins and form six dots which is equivalent to one Braille cell. Raspberry Pi Microcontroller is used to convert the text file into Braille format and thus controls the corresponding solenoid present below each of the holes to either pop up or down the hole by sending signal values to solenoids. Thus the solenoids align themselves based on the input character from the text file . The blinds can feel the sense of touch of the Braille pins that are popped up and they recognize the character accordingly. This way, blinds can recognize character by character. At every iteration, three characters from text file comes out in braille in Braille text popper device. The next button would display next three characters and previous button would display previous three characters. If the user prefers to hear audio, then it would give audio output of the text file through ear phones. Thus, the device facilitates the user either to read the text in braille or to hear the text as audio making it multifunctional.

ASCII differentiation is a compression method that utilizes the difference value or the difference between the bytes contained in the input character. Technically, the ASCII differentiation method can be done using a coding dictionary or using windowing block instead of the coding dictionary. Previous research that has been carried out shows that the ASCII differentiation compression ratio is good enough but still needs to be analyzed on performance from the perspective of the compression ratio of the method compared to other methods that have been widely used today. In this study an analysis of the comparison of the ASCII Difference method with other compression methods such as LZW will be carried out. The selection of LZW itself is done by reason of the number of data compression applications that use the method so that it can be the right benchmark. Comparison of the compression ratio performed shows the results of ASCII differentiation have advantages compared to LZW, especially in small input characters. Whereas in large input characters, LZW can optimize the probability of pairs of characters that appear compared to ASCII differentiation which is glued to the difference values ​​in each block of input characters so that in large size characters LZW has a greater compression ratio compared to ASCII differentiation.

Purpose In the process of robot shell design, it is necessary to match the shape of the input 3D original character mesh model and robot endoskeleton, in order to make the input model fit for robot and avoid collision. So, the purpose of this paper is to find an object of reference, which can be used for the process of shape matching. Design/methodology/approach In this work, the authors propose an interior bounded box (IBB) approach that derives from oriented bounding box (OBB). This kind of box is inside the closed mesh model. At the same time, it has maximum volume which is aligned with the object axis but is enclosed by all the mesh vertices. Based on the IBB of input mesh model and the OBB of robot endoskeleton, the authors can complete the process of shape matching. In this paper, the authors use an evolutionary algorithm, covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy (CMA-ES), to approximate the IBB based on skeleton and symmetry of input character mesh model. Findings Based on the evolutionary algorithm CMA-ES, the optimal position and scale information of IBB can be found. The authors can obtain satisfactory IBB result after this optimization process. The output IBB has maximum volume and is enveloped by the input character mesh model as well. Originality/value To the best knowledge of the authors, the IBB is first proposed and used in the field of robot shell design. Taking advantage of the IBB, people can quickly obtain a shell model that fit for robot. At the same time, it can avoid collision between shell model and the robot endoskeleton.
