Background Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 2 Group F (Nr2f) orphan nuclear hormone transcription factors (TFs) are fundamental regulators of many developmental processes in invertebrates and vertebrates. Despite the importance of these TFs throughout metazoan development, previous work has not clearly outlined their evolutionary history. Results We integrated molecular phylogeny with comparisons of intron/exon structure, domain architecture, and syntenic conservation to define critical evolutionary events that distinguish the Nr2f gene family in Metazoa. Our data indicate that a single ancestral eumetazoan Nr2f gene predated six main Bilateria subfamilies, which include single Nr2f homologs, here referred to as Nr2f1/2/5/6, that are present in invertebrate protostomes and deuterostomes, Nr2f1/2 homologs in agnathans, and Nr2f1, Nr2f2, Nr2f5, and Nr2f6 orthologs that are found in gnathostomes. Four cnidarian Nr2f1/2/5/6 and three agnathan Nr2f1/2 members are each due to independent expansions, while the vertebrate Nr2f1/Nr2f2 and Nr2f5/Nr2f6 members each form paralogous groups that arose from the established series of whole-genome duplications (WGDs). Nr2f6 members are the most divergent Nr2f subfamily in gnathostomes. Interestingly, in contrast to the other gnathostome Nr2f subfamilies, Nr2f5 has been independently lost in numerous vertebrate lineages. Furthermore, our analysis shows there are differential expansions and losses of Nr2f genes in teleosts following their additional rounds of WGDs. Conclusion Overall, our analysis of Nr2f gene evolution helps to reveal the origins and previously unrecognized relationships of this ancient TF family, which may allow for greater insights into the conservation of Nr2f functions that shape Metazoan body plans.

Background:  Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 2 Group F (Nr2f) orphan nuclear hormone transcription factors (TFs) are fundamental regulators of many developmental processes in invertebrates and vertebrates. Despite the importance of these TFs throughout metazoan development, previous work has not clearly outlined their evolutionary history. Results:  We integrated molecular phylogeny with comparisons of intron/exon structure, domain architecture, and syntenic conservation to define critical evolutionary events that distinguish the  Nr2f  gene family in Metazoa. Our data indicate that a single ancestral pre-metazoan  Nr2f  gene, we have termed  Nr2f1/2/5/6,  predated six main Bilateria subfamilies, which include a single  Nr2f1/2/5  homolog that is present throughout protostomes and invertebrate deuterostomes,  Nr2f1/2 homologs in agnathans, and  Nr2f1 ,  Nr2f2 ,  Nr2f5 ,  Nr2f6  orthologs that are found in gnathostomes. The three  Nr2f1/2 members in agnathans are due to independent expansions not found in gnathostomes, while the vertebrate  Nr2f1 ,  Nr2f2 ,  Nr2f5  members arose from whole-genome duplications (WGDs). However,  Nr2f6  members are the most divergent subfamily, likely originating from an ancient duplication, and are only retained by gnathostomes. Interestingly,  Nr2f5  TFs have been independently lost in both cartilaginous fish and amniotes, such as humans. Furthermore, our analysis shows there are differential expansions and losses of  Nr2f  genes in teleosts following their additional rounds of WGDs. Conclusion:  Overall, our evolutionary genomic analysis of Nr2f proteins helps to reveal the origins and previously unrecognized relationships of this ancient transcription factor family, which may allow for greater insights into the conservation of Nr2f functions that shape Metazoan body plans.

An implicit scheme by partitioned procedures is proposed to solve a dynamic fluid–structure interaction problem in the case when the structure displacements are limited by a rigid obstacle. For the fluid equations (Sokes or Navier–Stokes), the fictitious domain method with penalization was used. The equality of the fluid and structure velocities at the interface was obtained using the penalization technique. The surface forces at the fluid–structure interface were computed using the fluid solution in the structure domain. A quadratic optimization problem with linear inequalities constraints was solved to obtain the structure displacements. Numerical results are presented.

The in-plane structure domain size of nm-thick MoSe2 is determined to be 58–85 nm based on the 0 K-limit low-momentum phonon scattering. It is close to the crystallite sizes of 64.8 nm in the (100) direction and 121 nm in the (010) direction of bulk MoSe2.

PurposeThe present study aims to analyse the literature on capital structure theories for the last 21 years to identify the existing gaps and themes for prospective researchers in this domain.Design/methodology/approachA sample of 183 articles published from 1999 to 2019 in the Scopus database using “capital structure theory” and “leverage” as keywords was analysed on various basis. A citation analysis was also performed to recognize impactful authors and papers.FindingsThe findings revealed that though the capital structure research studies were highly focussed on developed economies, with time, research studies in developing markets are increasing. Further, the capital structure research studies were largely conducted by considering all the industries together, whereas the focus on a particular industrial sector was meagre. Almost all the studies were empirical, thus providing scope for primary research. Various forms of regression were popular econometric techniques used in this area of late. This review highlighted the dominance of trade-off theory to elucidate the capital structure of firms, irrespective of the status of the economy. The comprehensive review uncovered the existing gaps and identified major themes evolving in the capital structure domain.Originality/valueUnlike a traditional review paper, this study classifies sample articles based on several parameters and depicts a graphical presentation of the findings to cover research gaps, avenues, evolving themes, key aspects, impactful authors and their papers, etc. in the capital structure domain. It provides ready-made information available for prospective research studies in this field.

Pesantren Matic application is a website-based application that provides features for recording financial statements and as a tool for business development for the West Java Boarding School Forum. With a website-based application, FPP West Java can start a business in the form of ustadz training and certification, boarding school management governance training and training in recording the pesantren's financial statements. The target of this program is Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia and especially West Java. The Business Model Canvas used explains that: key partners (Ministry of Religion of West Java Province, Indonesian Ulama Council, Islamic Boarding Schools), key activities (Financial Recording, Islamic Boarding School Training, Ustadz training & certification), key resource (West Java Boarding School Forum), value proposition (Integrated Ministry of Religion, Indonesian Ulema Council), Customer Relationship (Advertising (promos and subscriptions)), Channels (Website, Social Media, Advertising), Customer Segments (Pondok Pesantren, Ustadz), Cost Structure (Domain and Hosting Registration Fees) ), Revenue Streams (Financial Records, Islamic Boarding School Training, Ustadz training & certification).
