An appropriate tear strength is one of the main properties that concern customers and it is also a significant source of claims. The authors make a review of the production process, focusing on each step that can either damage the natural strength of collagen fibers or improve them, and therefore, the leather. The aim of this work, divided in Part 1 and 2, is to transfer field tannery experiences collected over 40 years of activity in different tanneries, to colleagues that are looking for world class leather production. Part 1 has been published in JALCA, 116 (12), 2021.

An inverter circuit is promoted in this paper, using series-connected switched dc sources along with an H-bridge circuit with optimized circuit elements like switching devices and diode clamped (DC) sources. This configuration uses DC supplies that can be strung together in series to create a significant voltage level. This topology consists of two parts, namely: 1) level production part and 2) polarity production part. The combination of some of the dc sources and switching devices completes the level production part. The H-bridge in the presented structure produces the polarity generation part. The DC-link capacitors are not needed in this design. There is a full presentation of the operating modes and modeling process of the proposed converter. Finally, in the MATLAB/SIMULINK setting the proposed topology is simulated and output current and voltage results have been examined.

The advantages and disadvantages of flexible technological processing systems (TPS) are considered. To increase the flexibility of production, it is proposed to create a TPS based on the principles of universality and structural restructuring. Keywords: production, part, machine tool, tool, fixture, workpiece, flexibility, universality, workplace. [email protected]

During preliminary project design (PPD) an entopreneur can investigate a variety of process types, organism/feed combinations, operating conditions and procedures, control approaches, etc. before deciding on a specific system arrangement and proceeding to a more formal design stage. With modelling and simulation the effort required to locate a high-value point within the overall possibility space for a system can be greatly reduced because much of the development work can be carried out in a virtual environment. Nevertheless, to formulate models of the organism/feed kinetics as well as other system aspects, this approach must be based on experimental data. And, of course, results of a simulation study must be verified empirically. A simulation-based approach to PPD allows an entopreneur to study the dynamics of a wide variety of system arrangements and to gain insight into how a given arrangement is likely to perform with different parameter values and disturbances.
