Pengaruh Variasi Waktu Paparan Gelombang Ultrasonik dalam Mengurangi Jumlah Bakteri coliform pada Sampel Air Sungai Kahayan

Abstrak – Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh waktu paparan gelombang ultrasonik terhadap pengurangan jumlah koloni bakteri coliform pada sampel air sungai Kahayan. Pengambilan sampel air sungai dilakukan dengan teknik Grab Sampling menggunakan alat Kemmerer Sampler. Sampel air yang didapatkan diberikan paparan gelombang ultrasonik secara langsung, tanpa merubah kondisi lingkungan awal. Waktu paparan divariasikan pada 1 jam, 2 jam, 3 jam, 4 jam, dan 5 jam dengan frekuensi 40 kHz untuk memperoleh data waktu optimum. Uji coliform dilakukan dengan metode MPN, dengan tahapan uji pendugaan, uji penegasan, dan perhitungan koloni. Hasil uji MPN 24 jam setelah paparan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ultrasonik sebagai antibateri dapat optimum ketika diberikan paparan dengan waktu 3 jam, dengan efisiensi 96%. Kata kunci: antibakteri, coliform, ultrasonik, water treatment, sungai Kahayan Abstract – This study aims to examine the effect of ultrasonic wave exposure time on reducing the number of coliform bacterial colonies in the Kahayan river water samples. River water sampling is done using the Grab Sampling technique using the Kemmerer Sampler tool. The water samples obtained were given direct ultrasonic wave exposure, without changing the initial environmental conditions. The exposure time is varied in 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours and 5 hours with a frequency of 40 kHz to obtain optimum time data. Coliform test was carried out by the MPN method, with the stages of the estimation test, affirmation test, and colony calculation. The MPN test results 24 hours after exposure showed that the use of ultrasonic as an antibody can be optimum when given exposure with a time of 3 hours, with an efficiency of 96%.Keywords : antibakterial, coliform, ultrasonic, water treatment, Kahayan river

Evaluasi Prediksi Higher Heating Value (HHV) Biomassa Berdasarkan Analisis Proksimat

Abstrak – Biomassa merupakan salah satu energi terbarukan yang sangat mudah ditemui, ramah lingkungan dan cukup ekonomis. Keberadaan biomassa dapat dimaanfaatkan sebagai pengganti bahan bakar fosil, baik itu minyak bumi, gas alam maupun batu bara. Analisi diperlukan sebagai dasar biomassa sebagai energi seperti proksimat dan kalor. Analisis terpenting untuk menilai biomassa sebagai bahan bakar adalah nilai kalori atau higher heating value (HHV). HHV secara eksperimen diukur menggunakan bomb calorimeter, namun pengukuran ini kurang efektif, karena memerlukan waktu serta biaya yang tinggi. Penelitian mengenai prediksi HHV berdasarkan analisis proksimat telah dilakukan sehingga dapat mempermudah dan menghemat biaya yang diperlukan peneliti. Dalam makalah ini dibahas evaluasi persamaan untuk memprediksi HHV berdasarkan analisis proksimat pada biomassa berdasarkan data dari penelitian sebelumnya. Prediksi nilai HHV menggunakan lima persamaan yang dievaluasi dengan 25 data proksimat biomassa dari penelitian sebelumnya, kemudian dibandingkan berdasarkan nilai error untuk mendapatkan prediksi terbaik. Hasil analisis menunjukan, persamaan A terbaik di 7 biomassa, B di 6 biomassa, C di 6 biomassa, D di 5 biomassa dan E di 1 biomassa.Kata kunci: bahan bakar, biomassa, higher heating value, nilai error, proksimat Abstract – Biomass is a renewable energy that is very easy to find, environmentally friendly, and quite economical. The existence of biomass can be used as a substitute for fossil fuels, both oil, natural gas, and coal. Analyzes are needed as a basis for biomass as energy such as proximate and heat. The most critical analysis to assess biomass as fuel is the calorific value or higher heating value (HHV). HHV is experimentally measured using a bomb calorimeter, but this measurement is less effective because it requires time and high costs. Research on the prediction of HHV based on proximate analysis has been carried out so that it can simplify and save costs needed by researchers. In this paper, the evaluation of equations is discussed to predict HHV based on proximate analysis on biomass-based on data from previous studies. HHV prediction values using five equations were evaluated with 25 proximate biomass data from previous studies, then compared based on error value to get the best predictions. The analysis shows that Equation A predicts best in 7 biomass, B in 6 biomass, C in 6 biomass, D in 5 biomass, and E in 1 biomass. Penentuan Parameter Elektron Plasma Bejana Emiter Berbasis Besar Arus Lucut Busur Gas Udara

Abstrak – Telah dilakukan penentuan parameter elektron plasma dalam Bejana Emiter (BE) berbasis besar arus lucut busur gas udara pada tegangan 10 kV untuk Ignitor Discharge Power Supply (IDPS) dan tegangan anoda 1 kV untuk Arc Discharge Power Supply (ADPS). Tekanan gas udara divariasi mulai dari 5,70 × 10-3 Torr hingga 7,90 × 10-3 Torr. BE terbuat dari Stainless Steel-304 (SS-304) silinder berdiameter ф = 4,00 cm dan panjang l = 66 cm, dipasangi grid berukuran 60 cm × 2,6 cm dan ditutup dengan frame yang terdiri dari 15 grup lubang (masing-masing berisi 10 lubang kecil berdiameter ф = 0,4 cm). Dari hasil eksperimen pada tekanan gas udara sekitar 6,8 × 10-3 Torr diperoleh arus berkas elektron pulsa terekstraksi sebesar 4,17 A pada tegangan tinggi ekstraksi 5 kV. Berdasarkan arus elekton terekstraksi tersebut, diperoleh kerapatan elektron plasma ne sebesar 3,15 × 1012 partikel/cm3 dan suhu elektron plasma Te sebesar 1,77 × 104 K ≈ 1,50 eV.Kata kunci: emitter, plasma, bejana emiter (BE), lucutan, kerapatan, suhu Abstract – The determination of plasma electron parameters in the Emitter Vessel (EV) based on arc dischage value of air gas has been conducted at 10 kV of Ignitor Discharge Power Supply (IDPS) and 1 kV of anode voltage for Arc Discharge Power Supply (ADPS). The air gas pressure was varied from 5.70 × 10-3 Torr to 7, 90 × 10-3 Torr. The EV was made from Stainless Steel-304 (SS-304) cylindrical shape with diameter ф of 4.00 cm and length l of 66 cm, fitted with 60.00 cm × 2.60 cm grid and covered with a frame consisting of 15 groups of holes (each containing 10 holes small diameter ф of 0.4 cm). From the experiment result at the average air gas pressure of about 6.80 × 10-3 Torr, it was obtained 4.17 A of extracted pulse electron beam current at 5 kV of extracted high voltage. Based on that extracted electron beam current, it was obtained 3.15 × 1012 particles/cm3 of plasma electron density ne and 1.77 × 104 K ≈ 1.50 eV of plasma electron temperature Te. Pengaruh Tekanan Pada Briket Arang Alaban Ukuran Partikel Kecil

Abstrak – Pada umumnya ukuran partikel yang digunakan dalam pembuatan briket bervariasi antara 12 -100 mesh. Pada penelitian ini, ukuran partikel yang digunakan adalah 250 mesh (59,4 µm). Dilakukan kajian analisis proksimat briket terhadap variasi tekanan pencetakan. Briket dibuat dari campuran limbah industri arang kayu alaban dan abu dasar batubara. Kedua bahan dalam bentuk serbuk yang lolos pada saringan 250 mesh.Ukuran partikel yang lebih kecil diharapkan menghasilkan briket yang lebih baik dan tidak rapuh serta dapat digunakan sebagai bahan bakar alternatif untuk rumah tangga maupun industri dan penggunaan bahan limbah diharapkan membantu pemecahan permasalahan lingkungan. Variasi tekanan yang digunakan adalah 150, 200, 250, 300, dan 350 kg/cm2. Komposisi campuran limbah arang kayu alaban dan abu dasar batubara dengan rasio 90%:10%, sedangkan perekat tepung kanji 5%. Briket dibuat dalam bentuk silinder berukuran 2 × 2 cm. Briket yang sudah dicetak dikeringkan dalam oven pada suhu 120°C selama 4 jam dan didinginkan pada suhu ruang selama 24 jam. Dari hasil uji didapatkan Kadar Air (3,831-5,892) %; Kadar Abu (7,178-10,507) %; Nilai Kalori (5607,467-5732,033) cal/g; Densitas (0,688-0,769) g/cm3; dan Porositas (46,025-47,592) %. Berdasarkan hasil uji, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi nilai tekanan, kadar air, kadar abu, dan porositas akan menurun, sedangkan nilai kalori mencapai nilai tertinggi pada tekanan 200 kg/cm2 kemudian cenderung mengalami penurunan. Direkomendasikan tekanan yang diberikan pada saat pembuatan briket adalah 200 kg/cm2.Kata kunci: abu dasar batubara, arang kayu alaban, briket, tekanan pencetakan, ukuran partikelAbstract – In general, the particle size used in making briquettes were varied in the range of 12 -100 mesh. In this study, the particle size used was 250 meshs (59.4 µm). The effect of press variations to proximate analysis of briquette will be conducted. Briquette was made from a mixture of alaban wood charcoal industrial waste and coal bottom ash. Both materials were crushed in the form of powder passing 250 meshs sieve. The smaller particle size is expected to produce better and less brittle briquettes and could be used as alternative fuels for households and industries, while the use of waste materials is expected to help solve environmental problems. Pressure variations used were 150, 200, 250, 300, and 350 kg/cm2. The composition of the mixture of alaban wood charcoal waste and coal bottom ash wasin ratio 90%: 10%, while starch adhesive of 5% was added. Briquettes were made in the form of cylinders (2 × 2 cm in size). Briquettes were dried in an oven at 120°C for 4 hours and cooled at room temperature for 24 hours. The results obtained were Moisture Content (3,831-5,892)%; Ash Content (7,178-10,507)%; Heating Value (5607,467-5732,033) cal / g; Density (0.688-0.769) g/cm3; and Porosity (46,025-47,592)%. Based on the results, it could be concluded that as the pressure increased, water content, ash content, and porosity were decreased. The calorie value reaches the highest value at a pressure of 200 kg/cm2 then tends to decrease. It is recommended that the pressure applied at the time of briquette making is 200 kg/cm2.Key words: coal bottom ash, alaban charcoal, briquettes, pressure, particle size

Analisis Produksi 99Mo Berbasis Waktu Iradiasi Larutan Uranil Nitrat Pada Fasilitas Reaktor Kartini

Abstrak – Selama ini produksi isotop 99Mo sebagai generator 99mTc untuk diagnosis nuklir dalam bidang kedokteran adalah berbasis metode iradiasi 6-days curie. Pada makalah ini disajikan suatu analisis produksi 99Mo berbasis waktu iradiasi target berupa uranil-nitrat (UN), tanpa harus menunggu 6 hari waktu iradiasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah perhitungan pembentukan radioisotop produk fisi dengan bantuan paket program komputer ORIGEN-2. Perhitungan dilakukan untuk sampel ukuran standar volume 0,395 liter dengan variasi waktu iradiasi dan fluks neutron sesuai dengan fleksibilitas operasi reaktor Kartini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor jam operasi atau waktu iradiasi tidak terlalu signifikan dalam pembentukan 99Mo dibanding faktor variasi fluks neutron. Produksi 99Mo dari sampel standar tersebut pada tingkat fluks neutron maksimum 1012 n/cm2s adalah 1,581 curie, sedangkan total radioaktivitas sampel target UN adalah 168,1 curie.Kata kunci: produksi isotop, 99Mo, iradiasi, target, uranil-nitrat, fluks neutron, reaktor KartiniAbstract – So far, the 99Mo isotope production for nuclear diagnosis in the medical field is based on a 6-days curie method. This paper presents a 99Mo production analysis based on the target irradiation time in the form of uranyl-nitrate (UN), without having to wait 6 days of irradiation time. The method used is the calculation of the formation of fission product radioisotopes with the ORIGEN-2 computer code. Calculations were made for a standard sample with a volume of 0.395 liter with variations in irradiation time and neutron flux in accordance with the operating capability of the Kartini reactor. The results of the analysis show that the operating hour or irradiation time factor is not quite significant in the formation of 99Mo compared to the factor of neutron flux variation. The 99Mo production of the standard sample at a maximum neutron flux level of Kartini reactor of 1012 n/cm2s was 1.581 curies, while the total radioactivity of the UN target sample was 168.1 curies.
