Pendahuluan Status gizi menentukan tumbuh kembang bayi baik fisik maupun kognitif.

Nutrition education among adolescents is lacking in Indonesian schools. Whereas adolescent girls, in particular, need adequate nutrients to prepare them for their future pregnancy which may improve their nutrition status in the long term. Therefore, this study aims to assess the impact of a teacher-led nutrition education program on the nutrition and anemia status of adolescent girls. A quasi-experimental design was applied in junior high and high schools in Bogor which compared the findings between the intervention (n=112) and the control group (n=129). Teachers in the intervention group received training on health and nutrition for adolescents and were asked to deliver nutrition education for their students for 14 weeks. The control group did not receive any exposure to the topics. The weight, height, and hemoglobin level were measured before and after the program. Paired and independent t-test statistical analysis was used to assess the impact of the intervention for continuous variables and the Chi-Square test was used for categorical data. After the program, although there were no significant improvements in BMI-for-age z-score, however, significant improvements were observed for hemoglobin level among the treatment group. This was consequently shown in the anemia status, where the prevalence of anemia was significantly lower compared to the control group (p<0.001). The findings demonstrate that teacher-led nutrition education can improve the anemia status of adolescent girls.

Indonesia has the second highest pulmonary TB (tuberculosis) cases after India. TB problem is included in three national health priorities in Indonesia besides stunting and immunization.  Jakarta is the province with the second largest number of pulmonary TB patients after West Java. Curcuma tablet is indicated to increase appetite. Milk and white egg as protein sources are high energy natural sources that are expected  to improve nutritional status of TB patients either with or without comorbidities. The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of supplementation of curcuma, white egg and milk to energy and protein intake and weight among pulmonary TB patients with and without comorbidities in Regional General Hospital Tarakan Jakarta. A One group pre and post test design was carried out with 33 samples of pulmonary TB patients who meet inclusion criteria. Energy and protein intake were measured by food recall and food weighing. Multivariate analysis of variance (manova) was used to determine the effectiveness of supplementation of curcuma, white egg and milk to energy and protein intake and weight between pulmonary TB patients with and without comorbidities. The result showed that there was no significant difference inincreasing energy and protein intake and weight after supplementation of curcuma, white egg and milk between pulmonary TB patients with and without comorbidities (p >0.05). There is no effect of comorbidities to increase of weight, energy and protein intake among pulmonary TB patients after supplementation of curcuma, white egg and milk. Keywords : curcuma, intake, weight, pulmonary TB, comorbidities Indonesia adalah negara dengan kasus TB terbanyak kedua setelah India.

Background: One group of school-age children has nutritional problems. The problem of excess nutrients can affect body function, while a nutrient deficiency can cause impaired body growth and maturity of the reproductive organ system. Also, daily nutritional deficiencies can cause a lack of concentration in learning. Purpose: To determine the effect of food consumption patterns on nutritional status. Method: The research design used was observational with a cross-sectional study approach. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Batu Bujur, West Bilah Subdistrict, Labuhan Batu Regency, North Sumatra Province with a research sample of 78 students consisting of class VII and VIII aged 13-15 years. The sampling technique in this research is using the total sampling method. Data analysis was performed univariate and bivariate using the Chi-Square test. Results: dietary variation was associated with nutritional status with a p-value (0.010). Snack food was related to nutritional status with a p-value (0.45). Physical activity is related to nutritional status with a p-value (0.030). Conclusion: There is a correlation between dietary variation, snack food, and physical activity with nutritional status among students. It is recommended that students keep their food consumption and physical activity in accordance with nutritional needs. Keywords: Food Variation, Snack Food, Physical Activity, Nutritional Status.
