In this globalization era, health is the most important thing to be able to run various activities. Without good health, this will hinder many activities. Diabetes mellitus is one of the diseases caused by unhealty lifestyle.There are many treatments that can be done to prevent the occurrence of diabetes. The treatments are giving the insulin and also checking the glucose rate to the patients.Checking the glucose rate needs the tools which is safety to the body. This research want to develop non invasive tool which is safety and do not injure the patient. The purpose of this research is also finding the best model which derived from Linear, Quadratic, and Cubic Spline Regression. Some respondents were taking to get the glucose measuring by invasive and non invasive tools. It could be seen clearly that Spline Linear Regression was the best model than Quadratic and Cubic Spline Regression. It had 70% and 33.939 for R2 and RMSEP respectively.

Background/aimsTo assess changes in optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) at high altitude and in acute mountain sickness (AMS).MethodsCochrane Library, EMBASE, Google Scholar and PubMed were searched for articles published from their inception to 31st of July 2020. Outcome measures were mean changes of ONSD at high altitude and difference in ONSD change between subjects with and without AMS. Meta-regressions were conducted to investigate the relation of ONSD change to altitude and time spent at that altitude.ResultsEight studies with 248 participants comparing ONSD from sea level to high altitude, and five studies with 454 participants comparing subjects with or without AMS, were included. ONSD increased by 0.14 mm per 1000 m after adjustment for time (95% CI: 0.10 to 0.18; p<0.01). Restricted cubic spline regression revealed an almost linear relation between ONSD change and time within 2 days. ONSD was greater in subjects with AMS (mean difference=0.47; 95% CI: 0.14 to 0.80; p=0.01; I2=89.4%).ConclusionOur analysis shows that ONSD changes correlate with altitude and tend to increase in subjects with AMS. Small study number and high heterogeneity are the limitations of our study. Further large prospective studies are required to verify our findings.

Abstract Background The current literature does not contain a quantitative description of the associations between operative time and adverse outcomes after open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of distal radial fractures (DRF). Questions/Purpose We aimed to quantify associations between DRF ORIF operative time and 1) 30-day postoperative health care utilization and 2) the incidence of local wound complications. Methods The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS-NSQIP) database was queried for DRF ORIF cases (January 2012–December 2018). A total of 17,482 cases were identified. Primary outcomes included health care utilization (length of stay [LOS], discharge dispositions, 30-day readmissions, and reoperations) per operative-time category. Secondary outcome was incidence of wound complications per operative-time category. Multivariate regression was conducted to determine operative-time categories associated with increased risk while adjusting for demographics, comorbidities, and fracture type. Spline regression models were constructed to visualize associations. Results The 121 to 140-minute category was associated with significantly higher risk of a LOS > 2 days (odds ration [OR]: 1.64; 95% confidence interval [CI]:1.1–2.45; p = 0.014) and nonhome discharge (OR: 1.72; 95% CI:1.09–2.72; p = 0.02) versus 41 to 60-minute category. The ≥ 180-minute category exhibited highest odds of LOS > 2 days (OR: 2.08; 95%CI: 1.33–3.26; p = 0.001), nonhome discharge disposition (OR: 1.87; 95% CI: 1.05–3.33; p = 0.035), and 30-day reoperation occurrence (OR: 3.52; 95% CI: 1.59–7.79; p = 0.002). There was no association between operative time and 30-day readmission (p > 0.05 each). Higher odds of any-wound complication was first detected at 81 to 100-minute category (OR: 3.02; 95% CI: 1.08–8.4; p = 0.035) and peaked ≥ 181 minutes (OR: 9.62; 95% CI: 2.57–36.0; p = 0.001). Spline regression demonstrated no increase in risk of adverse outcomes if operative times were 50 minutes or less. Conclusion Our findings demonstrate that prolonged operative time is correlated with increased odds of health care utilization and wound complications after DRF ORIF. Operative times greater than 60 minutes seem to carry higher odds of postoperative complications.

Abstract BackgroundThe association between allogeneic blood transfusion (ABT) and healthcare-associated infection (HAI) is considered dose-dependent. However, this association may be confounded by transfusion duration, as prolonged hospitalization stay increases the risk of HAI. Also, it is not clear whether specific blood products have different dose-response risks.MethodsIn this retrospective cohort study, a logistic regression was used to identify confounding factors, and the association between specific blood products and HAI were analyzed. Then Cox regression and restricted cubic spline regression was used to visualize the hazard of HAI per transfusion product.ResultsOf 215338 inpatients observed, 4.16% were transfused with a single component blood product. With regard to these transfused patients, 480 patients (5.36 %) developed a HAI during their hospitalization stay. Logistic regression showed that red blood cells (RBCs) transfusion, platelets transfusion and fresh-frozen plasmas (FFPs) transfusion were risk factors for HAI [odds ratio (OR) 1.893, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.656–2.163; OR 8.903, 95% CI 6.646–11.926 and OR 1.494, 95% CI 1.146–1.949, respectively]. However, restricted cubic spline regression analysis showed that there was no statistically dose-response relationship between different transfusion products and the onset of HAI.ConclusionsRBCs transfusion, platelets transfusion and FFPs transfusion were associated with HAI, but there was no dose-response relationship between them.

AbstractAnalysing temporal patterns in foodborne illness is important to designing and implementing effective food safety measures. The reported incidence of illness due to Salmonella in the USA. Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network (FoodNet) sites has exhibited no declining trend since 1996; however, there have been significant annual trends among principal Salmonella serotypes, which may exhibit complex seasonal patterns. Data from the original FoodNet sites and penalised cubic B-spline regression are used to estimate temporal patterns in the reported incidence of illness for the top three Salmonella serotypes during 1996–2014. Our results include 95% confidence bands around the estimated annual and monthly curves for each serotype. The results show that Salmonella serotype Typhimurium exhibits a statistically significant declining annual trend and seasonality (P < 0.001) marked by peaks in late summer and early winter. Serotype Enteritidis exhibits a significant annual trend with a higher incidence in later years and seasonality (P < 0.001) marked by a peak in late summer. Serotype Newport exhibits no significant annual trend with significant seasonality (P < 0.001) marked by a peak in late summer.
