Key words:Atmospheric and vacuum; distillation; process; pollution Abstract:The atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit was analysed on the device's size, composition, technical route and process. The results show that the flue gas produced by atmospheric and vacuum furnace is the main emission source, and the main pollutants in the flue gas are SO2, NOX and soot. The wastewater pollution is mainly electric desalting salt water, and it was treated in saline wastewater treatment plant in the factory.

Polymerizable C9 fraction was cut by atmospheric distillation of raw C9 fraction from thermal cracking. The obtained fraction polymerized using boron trifluoride ethyl ether as catalyst and then the polymerized mixture was washed by warm 10%wt Na2CO3 aqueous solution and distilled water and separated by vacuum distillation for producing light colored C9 petroleum resins with high softening point. The suitable conditions for polymerization process, washing process, vacuum distillation process were investigated to improve the C9 petroleum resins production. Under these conditions, the petroleum resins product with Gardner color index of 4-5 and softening point of 102-120°C could be obtained.

Bearing significant concentrations of high value and critical metals, superalloy scraps require comprehensive recycling for metal reclamation. In this study, nickel-based superalloy was treated with molten Mg-Zn for the selective extraction of nickel. The influence of heating temperature, the molar ratio of Mg to Zn in the molten metal, Mg-Zn/superalloy mass ratio, and heating time on metal extraction were investigated. Using the heating temperature of 800 °C, the Mg/Zn molar ratio of 9/1, the Mg-Zn/superalloy mass ratio of 5/1, and heating time of 240 min, the extraction rate of 97.1% was achieved for Ni, and the extraction rates of Fe, Cr and refractory metals (Nb, Mo and Ti) were all less than 1%. In the subsequent vacuum distillation process, nickel with a purity of 98.3 wt% was obtained. Therefore, the proposed method is a short, clean, and efficient process for selectively extracting nickel from the superalloy scraps.
