AbstractDeveloping innovative and marketable products and services and maintaining innovation capacity are basic prerequisites for a company’s economic success and present implicit challenges in the adaptation to twenty-first-century needs. These success factors are put at risk by silo mentalities and by insufficiently pronounced cross-departmental knowledge transfers. The GASAG Group as a typical organizational layout of medium-sized enterprises in Germany has been and still is confronted with these challenges as well. In order to face them, the GASAG Group decided to work on company culture as well as to develop an open and innovative mindset, prompting it to join the ICU (ICU stands for ‘Internal Crowdsourcing in Enterprises’ and is a joint project funded by the Federal Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF) and the European Social Fund (ESF) for a period of 3 years, from June 2017 to May 2020, under the funding measure ‘Work in the Digitalised World’ and supervised by the project management organization Karlsruhe. The project goal was the development of an employee-friendly cross-industry reference model for Internal Crowdsourcing.). Research Project in 2017. The aim of this chapter is to describe the ICU approach from the practical, company perspective of the GASAG Group and to map out identified success factors as well as provide general recommendations for the implementation of Internal Crowdsourcing in a business environment.

Social media application (SMA) shows several important functions that causing theincrement of usage among mobile application or mobile app users, especially among18 to 28 years-old users. This causing several developers to create their own SMA thathave been targeted to mobile app users. However, only several SMA managed tobecome popular and successful in term of usage, leaving other unpopular SMA in thelower rank of the Google PlayStore. SMA created by developer in Malaysia face thesame situation as mentioned before where those SMA were supposed to attractMalaysian mobile users more. To assess this situation, this study aims to identify thesuccess factors of SMA usage and develop a set of metric based on the success factorsusing research model that have been developed in the past. Information SystemSuccess Model (ISSM) were studied and chosen as the reference model for this studybecause the model is suitable and have been used by other researchers in studiesregarding social media and SMA. ISSM contains several success factors like systemquality, service quality and information quality that affect the user satisfaction and useof a system, where this model were modified in this study with the addition ofnetworking quality and perceive privacy factors. This study were conducted on 380Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) students and after analysing the data collected, allproposed success factors except of service quality were found to have a positive impacttowards user satisfaction and usage. The success factors were included in the metricdesign and the metric were presented in an evaluation form for SMA developer inMalaysia to evaluate and applied the metric in their SMA.

The one constant in the world is change. The changing dynamics of business environment enforces the organizations to re-design or reengineer their business processes. The main objective of such reengineering processes is to provide services or produce products with the possible lowest cost, shortest time, and best quality. Accordingly, Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) provides a roadmap of how to efficiently achieve the operational goals in terms of enhanced flexibility and productivity, reduced cost, and improved quality of service or product. In this article, we propose an efficient model for BPR. The model specifies where the breakdowns occur in BPR implementation, justifies why such breakdowns occur, and proposes techniques to prevent their occurrence again. The proposed model has been built based on two main sections. The first section focuses on integrating Critical Success Factors (CSFs) and the performance of business processes during the reengineering processes. Additionally, it implements the association rule mining technique to investigate the relationship between CSFs and different business processes. The second section aims to measure the performance of business processes (intended success of BPR) by process time, cycle time, quality and cost before and after reengineering processes. A case study of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) is used to test the efficiency of the proposed model.

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has been implemented in various fields, including in government. To support the implementation of e-Government (e-Gov) and improve the quality of public services, many technology-based applications have been created by government agencies, both central and local governments. DISKOMINFOARPUS Cimahi City built an application called SILPa KAMI to support the vision of Cimahi Smart City. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method that aims to determine how the implementation and sustainability of the SILPa KAMI application and what kind of characteristics the agencies should have so it can replicate this application. The results of the study reveal that the implementation of the SILPa KAMI application is running well because it has fulfilled various success factors of e-Gov implementation which is also marked by the sustainability even though there are still obstacles. Also, the use of ICT based on the e-leadership aspect, the information network infrastructure aspect, the information management aspect, the business environment aspect, as well as the community and human resources aspect has been optimally utilized. This application is relatively easy to be replicated by other agencies. The agencies that can replicate this application must have the availability of budget, the availability of related facilities and infrastructure and the availability of reliable ICT managers.

<p align="center"><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p><em>This study discusses the Implementation of Knowledge Management System (KMS) at the National Savings Bank (BTN) in South Sumatra, as a government bank. Given the role of banks in the economy and the extraordinary level of competition. This research is expected to be a reference in implementing KMS in banking.</em><em> </em><em>Banks need KMS to run business processes in the application of expertise in organizations, because KMS is able to improve the bank's core competencies. KMS acts as a liaison in the knowledge provider to broaden and deepen knowledge, contribute to overcoming competition between banks in raising funds to create forms of innovative product services provided to the public.</em><em> </em><em>This research is to identify the implementation of KMS in the organization, so it can be seen the success factors of KMS in banking institutions. Data collected by questionnaire, then made a research model. Abstract The design and evaluation of social policies requires information systems that enable social intervention with the people targeted by the programmes and services and that also offer indicators for the follow-up and monitoring of the policies adopted. The article presents the process of validation of a tool for diagnosing situations of social difficulty arising from social exclusion. The scale has been implemented in one of Spain’s seventeen Autonomous Communities and has been selected on the basis of Good Practice under the European Social Fund. Expert judges were consulted for content validity; the metric properties of the scores obtained by the scale were examined and an exploratory factorial analysis (EFA) was performed to study the internal structure. The results show that the scale has adequate levels of content validity, construct validity and internal consistency. The SiSo Scale supplies a synthetic index of Social Position, providing professionals with the technical tools needed to carry out social diagnoses and simultaneously giving valid and reliable information on the social condition of people in a situation of social exclusion, which can guide social policy decision-making.

A reference model is always developed in order to support a specific purpose. The development environment is setting the broader context. Limitations are not only set by size and experience of the modeler team or by budget and time constraints. The intended usage scenario also defines the fundamental contour of a reference model. During the practical work with reference models, a range of key issues has come up to increase the suitability of reference models for daily use. As the result of many projects, the authors have summarized the key issues and formulated critical success factors for reference modeling projects.

As illustrated by the specific eGovernment strategies, initiatives and good practice examples Danish authorities, at all levels of government, posses a number of strengths equipping them well for further digitisation and a move to Government 2.0. Strengths which include: Well developed strategies, goals and activities; single point of entry initiatives; attended and aligned development, common standards and enterprise architecture; joint development, strategies, corporation and marketing; guidelines and methodologies developed specifically to optimise the use of ICT etc.

The Problem According to the Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs, 31.3% of businesses in Vietnam are owned by women, placing Vietnam at the sixth out of the 53 surveyed economies. Despite the prevalence of female entrepreneurship in Vietnam, little is known about the motivations, challenges, and success factors of those occupying this vibrant sector of the Vietnamese economy. Greater knowledge of how women entrepreneurs perceive themselves and the Vietnamese business environment could stimulate greater support for their personal and career development. The Solution This study aims to explore Vietnamese women entrepreneurs’ motivations, challenges, and success factors. This qualitative research study provides (a) a brief introduction to the business context and the role of women entrepreneurs in Vietnam; (b) findings on Vietnamese women motivation for to starting and running business, as well as the challenges they face, and factors contributing to their success; and (c) recommendations for government policies, business communities, and the development of female entrepreneurs in Vietnam. As few research studies on women business owners in Vietnam are available, this empirical study can contribute to more effective practice and further research on this cohort in Vietnam. The Stakeholders Recommendations provided in this study will help governmental policymakers, business communities, and female entrepreneurs in Vietnam.

Purpose – There is growing concern about the performance of public organizations (POs) in developing countries. Despite the fact that the advantages of innovation and learning orientation to organizations have been evidently documented in Western economies and private owned enterprises, there has been little research into these practices and their impact on enhancing competitive advantages in POs in transitional economies such as Iran. The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of innovation and learning orientation on performance of POs in Iran. Design/methodology/approach – This paper draws on theory from innovation and learning orientation in conjunction with a strategic-centered model to carry out a survey-based study of 127 senior level managers (e.g. CEOs, planning, finance, HR and marketing managers) of POs and/or their cluster companies in six major developed and developing cities of Iran. Findings – The research findings show that learning orientation and innovativeness leads to better PO performance and should be encouraged. More specifically, the results suggest that higher levels of learning orientation and innovativeness led these organizations to higher levels of delivery speed, cost improvement, and quality confidence in firm future PO performance. Research limitations/implications – Data were gathered via a questionnaire administered to senior level managers of some POs and/or their clusters in some cities in Iran. Further research is required to understand the contextual factors that influence internal company culture. For example, there are relatively few women in managerial positions in Iranian companies; and the impact of a restricted business environment appears to vary from service to retail and manufacturing industries. Practical implications – This study is important for managers of public sectors. From empirical evidence, the authors found that PO managers must consider innovativeness and learning as two crucial strategic capabilities for a superior and sustainable performance. Originality/value – The study provides insights into the types of activities that PO management should undertake in order to enhance economic performance.
