Chicken broiler is the main commodities  and largest in Indonesia, where Kampar district into production centre in the province of Riau. According to the company's partners, breeder who partnered with the pattern contract farming hasn't been able to combine the use of livestock production facilities as well as labor. This resulted in not maximizing the profits obtained by breeders. The purpose of the research was to analyze broiler chicken farming and analyze the efficiency of broiler chicken production. Analytical method used is the analysis method of broiler chicken flocks and the DEA method. Respondents needed is 40 farmers who have partnered with the contract farming pattern. The results showed that the production costs of Rp.180.031.229 /period, revenue Rp.203.573.865/period, so that the profit amounting to Rp 23.542.636/period with R/C ratio of 1.13. The results of the efficiency analysis show that inefficient farmers are more numerous than those who have been efficient. It showed breeders hasn't been able to use the minimum input produce output that is optimal and maximum profit.

The paper deals with the possibility of applying the DEA method to measure the efficiency of local public services provided by municipalities and towns in the Czech Republic. It is testing and modeling data on the effectiveness of local libraries, which for 100 years had to provide basic education and disseminate education in municipalities. There are many models in the literature dealing with various problems of efficiency analysis. A particularly suitable and elegant model is the DEA model based on Chebyshev distance. This model can be formulated with both the assumption of constant range returns and the assumption of variable range returns. Similar to the classical DEA model, this method can be formulated as a set of optimization problems looking for weights for given inputs and outputs.

Abstract        The purpose of this training is to explain the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method as a company efficiency analysis tool. The explanation includes the meaning, benefits, mechanisms, formulation of the DEA model and the use of the Banxia Frotier Analist and MaxDEA Software. The training was carried out with a National Webinar which was held in collaboration with the Postgraduate School of Pancasila University and the Muhammadiyah Branch of Mampang Depok City. The results show that the DEA method is very useful and if possible the time is added and deepened with examples. The academic implication is that the participants make a youtube tutorial on how to operate the Banxia Frontier Analist software and can help students in preparing a thesis. Keywords: data envelopment analysis, efficiency, banxia frontier analist, maxdea.

Efficiency analysis is essential for the evaluation of banks’ performance. To estimate banks’ efficiency, we can apply different methods. Analysis of financial indicators is the most popular efficiency analysis method in banks, but the number of financial indicators can be really big and make the interpretation of the results more difficult. Another way to estimate efficiency measures is the nonparametric frontier method - Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). This method has become increasingly popular in measuring bank efficiency in the countries with developed banking systems. The main aim of this article is to present the results of efficiency analysis, computed by means of both methods, i. e. the classical index of balance sheet characteristics and the non-parametric DEA method. The analysis was carried out in the biggest banks operating in Poland in 2000-2007. The empirical results show that the efficiency measures give a similar although not identical picture of Polish commercial banks’ performance. These results (yielded by both methods) are complementary to each other and suggest that the non-parametric DEA method is really valuable and worth applying in bank practice. The work presents also the reasons that would explain the achieved results. It also compares both methods, their potentials and limitations in applying them to banking.

The paper presents an alternative method of sustainable intensification (SI) measurement. It is based on efficiency analysis using DEA method, Malmquist TFP index and Euclidean and angular distance measurements. The proposed measure makes it possible to determine the dynamics of the process of sustainable intensification, taking into account the base level of economic and eco-efficiency. Applied solution partially eliminates the problem of weighing the various dimensions of sustainable development. The method was used to measure SI in the European Union countries in 2005-2013. Obtained results confirm the presence of this process in most countries and on average in the whole EU. It was particularly fast among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and among the Scandinavian countries. Changes that were not in line with the SI concept, occurred in the Benelux countries and in the British Isles, where environmental productivity improved, diminishing economic productivity.

in order to understand the use of research and development resources of high-tech enterprises in western China, the research and development efficiency evaluation index system is built from the research and development expenditures, research and development personnel, profitability, development ability and technological innovation ability in this paper. DEA method is applied to evaluate the relative research and development efficiency of 27 listed high-tech enterprises in western China. Empirical results show that the overall level of all samples is not high, and most of the enterprises are in inefficiency stage. There is direct proportion between size of assets and R&D efficiency for enterprises.

Purpose This paper aims to estimate the performance of the social security administration (SSA) in dealing with disability benefits applications in American. Design/methodology/approach The authors propose a multi-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) method to analyze the efficiency of 167 hearing offices (HOs) to find the best performed HOs and inefficient ones and detect total improvement of inefficient and weak efficient offices. Findings The results show that totally 299,711 applications were processed and more applications will be processed if all offices can work efficiently. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first one to analyze the performance of SSA HOs using the multi-stage DEA method. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first one to analyze the performance of SSA HOs using the multi-stage DEA method.
