Developing a microcontroller-based system for controlling the flywheel motor of high-dynamics spacecraft using Russian-made parts and components made it possible to make statement of the problem of searching control function for a preset rotation rate of the flywheel rotor. This paper discusses one of the possible options for mathematical study of the stated problem, namely, application of structural analysis based on graph theory. Within the framework of the stated problem a graph was constructed for generating the new required rate, while in order to consider the stochastic case option the incidence and adjacency matrices were constructed. The stated problem was solved using a power matrix which transforms a set of contiguous matrices of the graph of admissible solution edge sequences, the real-time control function was found. Based on the results of this work, operational trials were run for the developed control function of the flywheel motor rotor rotation rate, a math model was constructed for the real-time control function, and conclusions were drawn about the feasibility of implementing the results of this study. Key words: Control function, graph, incidence matrix, adjacency matrix, power matrix, microcontroller control of the flywheel motor, highly dynamic spacecraft.

Cellular receptors on the cell membrane can bind ligand molecules in the extra-cellular medium to form ligand-bound monomers. These interactions ultimately determine the fate of a cell through the resulting intra-cellular signalling cascades. Often, several receptor types can bind a shared ligand leading to the formation of different monomeric complexes, and in turn to competition for the common ligand. Here, we describe competition between two receptors which bind a common ligand in terms of a bi-variate stochastic process. The stochastic description is important to account for fluctuations in the number of molecules. Our interest is in computing two summary statistics—the steady-state distribution of the number of bound monomers and the time to reach a threshold number of monomers of a given kind. The matrix-analytic approach developed in this manuscript is exact, but becomes impractical as the number of molecules in the system increases. Thus, we present novel approximations which can work under low-to-moderate competition scenarios. Our results apply to systems with a larger number of population species (i.e., receptors) competing for a common resource (i.e., ligands), and to competition systems outside the area of molecular dynamics, such as Mathematical Ecology.

Aiming at the problems such as switch impulsion, insurmountability for influence caused by nonlinearity in one tank gun control system which adopts double PID controller to realize the multimode switch control between high speed and low speed movement, the system math model is built up; And then, Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) method based on nonroutine reference model is brought in and the adaptive gun controller is designed. Consequently, the compensation of nonlinearity and multimode control are implemented. Furthermore, the Tracking Differentiator (TD) is affiliated to the front of controller in order to restrain the impulsion caused by mode switch. Finally, the validity of control method in this paper is verified by simulation.

This is a step forward in researching about Strategic Knowledge Management — SKM. Firstly, an overview of SKM is presented and indicating the three integrative models: conceptual model, mathematical model and systemic model. After that, the SKM math model is deeply described in order to establish a framework to the study. The research objective was to evaluate conditions to implement SKM in Brazilian corporations. Thus, a methodology of four steps was applied: formulating a questionnaire, considering variables related to systemic factors — cognition, technology, organisational culture, managerial style and context — developing a Math Model Software, that was used to collect data and consolidating results by using a MS Excel; preparing a team of researches that comprised 29 students of the Intelligence Competitive MBA in the Universidade de Brasília. The research considered 15 companies in Brazil, mostly public ones, and 56 strategists and decision makers were heard. Results revealed that the conditions are unfavorable to implement SKM model and improvement actions on systemic factors are considerably required.
