Abstract The typical problem of vegetable oil processing is to ensure the consistency of the output quality. The one parameter that mostly affects quality is the presence of wax, which commands control at all stages of the process (refinement, odours removal, freezing). Statistical methods of analysis can be usefully applied to the improvement of vegetable oil processing, as demonstrated by this study. The authors in fact used statistical methods in order to: a) optimize parameters consistency, b) enhance process efficiency, c) improve economic performance and finally, d) assess process stability. The following statistical tools were used in the study: 1) Histograms, 2) Shewhart Charts, 3) Ishikawa Diagrams and, 4) Pareto Chart. A first major finding was that the occurrence of process flaws that would result in product rejection had a 5% probability of happening at all stages of the process. Moreover, the analysis of process stability with maps of average values and ranges leads to the finding that the process itself is statistically unstable. Finally, cause-and-effect relationships of influencing factors (such as the quality of feedstock) were investigated, thus determining the main causes of flaw in the production process. This leads to the definition of corrective actions, the effectiveness of which was then investigated and evaluated.

For a random variable x we can define a variational relationship with practical physical meaning as [Formula: see text], where I is the uncertainty measure. With the help of a generalized definition of expectation, [Formula: see text], we can find the concrete forms of the maximizable entropies for any given probability distribution function, where g({pi}) may have different forms for different statistical methods which include the extensive and non-extensive statistics. Moreover, it is pointed out that this generalized uncertainty measure is valid not only for thermodynamic systems but also for non-thermodynamic systems.

In this work the role of professional standards, the system of requirements of production to structure of working professions and to their competences, problems of ensuring production by skilled workers with shots is considered. Special attention is paid to a way of definition of the major factors influencing change of indicators of quality of a ready-made product and also definition of ways of optimization of these indicators of quality. In article it is also described problems of formation of a complete system of ensuring sustainable social and economic development. Creation of constructive mechanisms of interaction of the sphere of work and the education increasing efficiency and reducing expenses. The professional standards establishing the requirements to knowledge, abilities defining necessary competences for performance of a certain work or professional duties are studied are considered as one of tools allowing to create steady and effective interaction of the sphere of work and education, to provide rational use of human resources now. By means of statistical methods of accuracy and stability of course of process, key indicators of quality of Nikitinsky long loaf such as humidity of a crumb, acidity, mass fraction of sugar and mass fraction of fat were estimated. It was revealed that not all values of the chosen indicators submit to the normal law of distribution, except an indicator of acidity of ready long loaf the probabilistic share of marriage was calculated by this indicator of quality. For the purpose of increase in efficiency of activity of the enterprise, quality of works, services and processes development and deployment of the professional standard for the specialist in quality control of bakery products plays an important role as the professional standard, is the main step on the way of formation of an effective control system of personnel potential at the modern enterprise.

Trends in the development of Ukrainian mining companies have shown that it is important to increase their financial potential. This necessitates an assessment of the financial capacity of business entities to determine the directions, methods for attracting additional and optimizing existing financial resources. The aim of this research is to determine a methodological approach to determining the level of financial potential of economic entities through the use of mathematical and statistical methods to identify the current financial status of economic entities and financial reserves of development. General scientific and special research methods, analysis and synthesis, graphical analysis, taxonomic analysis, cluster analysis, as well as abstract and logical methods were used to achieve the goal. Theoretical approaches to defining the essence of the concepts of “potential”, “financial potential of economic entities” were systematized to specify the boundaries of each of the concepts, its components. Definition of the essence of the “financial potential of economic entities” concept was proposed. A set of financial indicators to assess the level of financial potential through a priori ranking based on the analysis of literature sources was developed. The selected financial indicators were grouped according to the financial potential components; the integral indicators for each group were calculated. Business entities in the mining industry in Ukraine were grouped into clusters according to calculated taxonomic indicators. Besides, the level of financial potential for each cluster was determined. The methodological approach to the diagnosis of the level of financial potential of economic entities was developed using mathematical and statistical methods. This made it possible to identify trends in the development of financial potential, which allows forming measures to increase it.

Currently, there is no single definition of artificial intelligence. We need a Such categorization of tasks to be solved by artificial intelligence. The paper proposes a task categorization for artificial neural networks (in terms of obtaining subjectively and objectively new information). The advantages of such neural networks (non-algorithmizable problems) are shown, and a class of systems (third type biosystems) which cannot be studied by statistical methods (and all science) is presented. To study such biosystems (with unique samples) it is suggested to use artificial neural networks able to perform system synthesis (search for order parameters). Nowadays such problems are solved by humans through heuristics, and this process cannot be modeled by the existing artificial intelligence systems.

Recent years have witnessed a growing interest in dermatoglyphics: an increasing number of associations between dermatoglyphic alterations and different diseases (especially chromosomal aberrations) are actually being reported, which is of particular concern to human and medical geneticists, as well as to clinicians and pediatricians.Having been shown to undergo practically complete genetic conditioning, fingerprints are also being applied, by different authors, to the diagnosis of zygosity in twins. On the other hand, although, on account of available data, a large impact of heredity may be assumed in their determination, dermatoglyphics as a whole still fail to find a clear genetic definition.Furthermore, with respect to clinical aspects and applications, a clear quantitative definition of dermatoglyphic alterations, and therefore of dermatoglyphic normality and its variability, is still needed.Last, but not least, a wider and generalized application of dermatoglyphics to the diagnosis of zygosity in twins would require a clear, morphological and genetic, quantitative definition of each trait, as well as the introduction of simple and standardized statistical methods for calculating the probabilities of monozygosity and dizygosity.

Teisingo atlyginimo už darbą principas įtvirtintas 1961 m. Europos socialinėje chartijoje ir 1996 m. Pataisytoje socialinėje chartijoje. Tačiau minėtuose teisės aktuose nepateikiama teisingo atlyginimo sampratos, o neaiškus terminas leidžia rastis skirtingoms interpretacijoms, kurioms tirti iki šiol Lietuvoje buvo skirta mažai dėmesio. Šiame straipsnyje detaliai analizuojami Socialinių teisių komiteto pateikti teisingo atlyginimo aiškinimo metodai. Tyrimo tikslas – išskirti skirtingas teisingo atlyginimo sampratas, jas palyginti ir įvertinti Lenkijos valstybės darbo užmokestį teisingo atlyginimo sampratos požiūriu. Naudojamasi sisteminio aiškinimo, lyginamuoju, loginės analizės ir statistiniais metodais. Šiais metodais vertinamos Lenkijos Respublikos galimybės ratifikuoti Europos socialinės chartijos 4 straipsnio 1 dalį. European Social Charter of 1961 and the Revised European Social Charter of 1996 establishes the principle of fair remuneration. However these legal acts do not give the exact definition of this principle. The vague term generates different interpretations which have not been properly analysed in Lithuanian labour law so far. This paper analyses the methods to define fair remuneration, provided by the Committee of Social Rights. The purposes of this research are to identify various interpretations, to compare them and to evaluate Polish remuneration in the terms of fair remuneration. The author of this paper uses systematic interpretation, comparison tests, logical analyses and statistical methods. These methods enable the author to conclude on the possibilities of Poland to ratify article 4 § 1 of the European Social Charter.

The main purpose of the paper is to assess the level of EU countries’ ability to compete in a sustainable manner and to compare these results with achievements in the area of sustainable competitive position. In the paper, the definition of the new economic category – sustainable competitiveness and its main components: sustainable competitive capacity and sustainable competitive position, as well as these new terms’ measurement proposal were presented. The study is also an attempt to the exploration of relationship existing between those categories. For this purpose, the selected statistical methods were applied. The taxonomic measure of development as well as the correlation coefficients, were used to measure the multilevel relationship between those considered areas. Until now, those categories were presented only in the context of examining the countries’ ability to compete sustainably. However, the aspects of sustainable competitive position have been completely ignored. That’s why it should be emphasized that this kind of investigation is a novelty in the area of sustainable competitiveness. The research results confirmed the existence of relationship between the various areas that consist to the holistic concept of sustainable competitiveness. These relationships are not always strong though and this is the crucial fact for further research in this area.
