The dependence on the glass forming ability, magnetic property, and thermal stability of the (Fe0.39Co0.15Ni0.46)82−xB12+xSi6 (x = 0, 2, 4, and 6) alloys was investigated. The results show that the as-quenched alloy ribbons exhibit a completely amorphous structure with B content in the range of 12∼18 at.%. The initial crystallization onset temperature of the as-quenched ribbon increases with the increase of B content. When the B content is up to 14 at.%, the temperature interval between the two crystallization peaks will sharply reduce, which narrows the effective annealing range that is detrimental to improving the soft magnetic properties. Both of the Ms and Hc of the as-quenched ribbons increase first and then decrease with the increase of B content. Here, the maximum Ms of 0.90 T and low Hc of 10.2 A/m can be obtained at the B content of 14 at.%. Additionally, the (Fe0.39Co0.15Ni0.46)80B14Si6 alloy exhibits the minimum Hc of 5.9 A/m and Ms of 0.934 T at the proposed annealing temperature of 698 K for 10 min in the vacuum condition.

We Successfully Prepared the Rod Glassy Samples of (Fe1-xCox)76Si9B10P5 (x = 0~0.4) Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG) with the Diameters up to 3.0 mm by Substituting Fe for a Small Amount of Co Element. A Certain Amount of Co Substitution for Fe Contributes to the Increase of the Glass-Forming Ability (GFA) while Maintaining Good Mechanical Properties (the Fracture Strength up to 3700 MPa). This Co-Added Ferromagnetic Bulk Glassy Alloy System Also Exhibits a Higher Saturation Magnetization of 1.49 T and Lower Coercive Force (Hc, 1.2 A/m). The Fe-Based BMGs with Alloying a Small Amount of Co Element Demonstrate Excellent Combination of High GFA, Good Soft-Magnetic Properties as Well as High Strength.

The microstructure, phase formation, thermal stability and soft magnetic properties of melt-spun high entropy alloys (HEAs) Fe27Co27Ni27Si10−xB9Lax with various La substitutions for Si (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1) were investigated in this work. The Fe27Co27Ni27Si10−xB9La0.6 alloy shows superior soft magnetic properties with low coercivity Hc of ~7.1 A/m and high saturation magnetization Bs of 1.07 T. The content of La has an important effect on the primary crystallization temperature (Tx1) and the secondary crystallization temperature (Tx2) of the alloys. After annealing at relatively low temperature, the saturation magnetization of the alloy increases and the microstructure with a small amount of body-centered cubic (BCC) phase embedded in amorphous matrix is observed. Increasing the annealing temperature reduces the magnetization due to the transformation of BCC phase into face-centered cubic (FCC) phase.
