In recent years, with the continued development and development of science and technology and the increasing maturity of medical technology, reactive nodular fibrous pseudotumors remain difficult to diagnose. Therefore, this paper studies CT and MRI imaging properties based on hypothetical gastrointestinal and mesangial reactive erythema nodosum fibrous pseudotumors to improve the diagnosis and treatment of reactive nodular fibrous pseudotumors. In this study, 48 patients with gastrointestinal and intermediate-reactive erythema nodosum fibrous pseudotumors in the gastrointestinal tract and experimental group were screened and identified by surgical pathology and immunohistochemistry. CT or magnetic resonance imaging was used in all patients. An analysis is performed, and the diagnostic values are compared with the pathological results. Experiments have proved that the postoperative reexamination of reactive nodular fibrous pseudotumors found that single masses are common, tumor sizes are different, and most small nodules have relatively more uniform lesion density, and the density of the plain scan is close to the muscle density, and the delay can be seen after enhancement. When the mass is large, the density is uniform, and low-density foci of different degrees can be seen in some masses, and this part rarely shows enhancement. The imaging phenomenon and clinical features of reactive nodular fibrous pseudotumors have specific features that distinguish them from invasive tumors such as gastrointestinal stromal tumors and provide an important basis for accurate clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Background Five to ten percent of the global population have unruptured intracranial aneurysms, and ruptured brain aneurysms cause approximately 500,000 deaths a year. Flow-diverting stent treatment is a less invasive intracranial aneurysm treatment that induces aneurysm thrombosis. The imaging characteristics of a novel primarily bioresorbable flow-diverting stent (BFDS) are assessed in comparison to the leading metal stent using fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI. Methods X-ray/fluoroscopic images of stents were taken using a human cadaveric skull model. CT and MRI were acquired using silicone flow models of residual aneurysms. Images were analyzed with Likert scales in anonymous surveys by neurointerventionalists. Quantitative measurements of radiographic density (CT) and artifact boundary size (CT & MRI) were also obtained. Results Visibility of the BFDS on X-ray was less than the metal stent but deemed adequate for deployment and intraprocedural assessment. The metal stent was more radiopaque than the BFDS on CT, but qualitative assessment was not significantly different for the two stents. MRI imaging was significantly better using the BFDS in terms of overall artifact and intraluminal assessment. Conclusions The BFDS has adequate visualization on X-ray/fluoroscopy and should be clinically acceptable for fluoroscopic deployment. On MRI, there is less quantitative artifact as well as overall improved qualitative assessment that will allow for more detailed non-invasive imaging follow-up of treated aneurysms, potentially reducing the need for digital subtraction catheter angiography.

Glomus tumor is one of the most common temporal bone tumors. Most of them are benign and locally invasive, some are occasionally able to metastasize and have signs of malignancy. Diagnostic imaging is necessary before treatment. Computer tomography (CT) is traditionally used as a primary method of diagnosis, to recognize changes in the temporal bone. Role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in temporal bone tumor diagnosis is not definitively determined.Purpose. To assess the possibilities of computer and magnetic resonance tomography, to develop an algorithm for the application of diagnostic imaging methods in the diagnosis of glomus tumors of the temporal bone.Material and methods. The article presents the experience of diagnosing 30 patients with glomus tumors.Results. The tympanic form of the glomus tumor was observed in 11 cases (37%), tympano-yugular in 19 cases (63%). CT and MRI data totally coincided in cases of small tumors (type A and B). In the presence of extended forms CT ability of assessing bone invasion, involvement of the internal carotid artery, internal jugular vein, and dural sinuses was lower than the MRI.

Objective: This study aims to assess the CT and MRI features of head and neck osteosarcoma (HNO). Methods: 37 HNOs were identified, and the following imaging characteristics were reviewed on CT and MRI. Results: A total of 37 patients(age 41.5 ± 15.0 years old; 16 males, 21 females) were included in the study. Tumours occurred in the maxilla (16, 43.2%), mandible (8, 21.6%), skull base (6, 16.2%), calvarium (5, 13.5%), paranasal sinuses (1, 2.7%) and cervical soft tissue (1, 2.7%). 16 patients received radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Three patients (8.1%) developed osteosarcomas related to a primary bone disease. 16 of the (43.2%) tumours demonstrated lytic density on CT scans, followed by 13 (35.1%) showing mixed density and 7 (18.9%) with sclerotic density. Matrix mineralization was present in 32 (86.5%). 3 out of 24 (12.5%) tumours showed lamellar periosteal reactions, 21 out of 24 (87.5%) showed spiculated periosteal reactions. 12 tumours showed low signal intensities on T1WI, with 16 having heterogeneous signal intensities. 10 tumours showed high signal intensities on T2WI, and 18 showed heterogeneous signal intensities. With contrast-enhanced images, 3 tumours showed homogeneous enhancement (2 osteoblastic and 1 giant cell-rich), 18 tumours showed heterogeneous enhancement (13 osteoblastic, 4 fibroblastic and 1 giant cell-rich), and 7 tumours showed peripheral enhancement (6 chondroblastic and 1 osteoblastic). These tumours were characterized by soft tissue masses with a diameter of 5.6 ± 1.8 cm. Conclusions: HNO is a rare condition and is commonly associated with previous radiation exposure. This study provides age, sex distribution, location, CT and MRI features of HNO.

This report describes the diagnosis and treatment of a patient with a rare primary facial nerve paraganglioma as well as a review of the current literature. A 60-year-old male patient presented to our clinic with a 4-month history of left-sided progressive facial paralysis House-Brackmann V. Biopsy taken during facial nerve (FN) decompression confirmed the diagnosis of paraganglioma. The left FN was sacrificed during resection of the mass and a 12-7 jump graft, using the left greater auricular nerve, was performed with acceptable outcomes. The rarity of these tumours does not discount their clinical importance or the necessity to include them in the differential when presented with unilateral FN paralysis. Investigation should begin with CT and MRI imaging to identify and localise the potential mass. Histologic confirmation requires tissue. While surveillance imaging is occasionally an option, often complete surgical resection of the mass and sacrifice of the nerve is necessary.
