Based on the experimental data acquired from natural circulation experiment, critical heat flux (CHF) was detected through applying Fourier transform and wavelet transform firstly. Then, the technology of edge detection was applied in detecting CHF regions under different heating powers from the photos which were taken in experiment. Results showed that wavelet transform could detect the occurrence of CHF much more accurate than Fourier transform. The apply of wavelet transform using of db1 wavelet and edge detection technology using of Canny algorithm could accurately distinguish the singularity of CHF in one-dimensional temperature signal and dry patch regions that represented CHF phenomena in two-dimensional photographs respectively, which can provide a new approach in the analysis of CHF experimental studies of natural circulation.

For many applications requiring automatic positioning docking, we often use machine vision to guide automatic docking location. The key technology of automatic positioning system based on machine vision is edge detection technology of docking interface; the algorithm is the key factor to decide the success or failure of the system. In this paper, the elliptic edge detection as an example, introduces the application and experiment using Sobel edge detection algorithm in positioning aspect. The experimental results show that the method has high precision for oval edge detection, can assist machine to carry out automatic docking location, and has shorter time of image processing, it is beneficial to improve the processing speed of docking.

This study proposes a three-dimensional size detection system for inerratic magnetic sheets according to specific size parameter requirements, such as the volume of the industrial micro magnetic sheet. Based on the noise interference generated by the corresponding detection environment of the magnetic sheet, a hybrid filtering method for the inerratic magnetic sheet is also proposed here, which effectively implements denoising filtering. In the image edge detection module, the edge detection operator most suitable for detecting image edge extraction is selected, and in order to realize the inerratic shape detection in Hough transform, the measurement function of size parameters (including the top surface radius, tilt angle of the profile and top surface, profile thickness, and volume) for the micro cylinder magnetic sheet are designed and implemented. Measurement data, gathered through repeated experiments, builds a more effective detection system for magnetic sheet size than traditional methods at the millimeter level.

Edge detection is an important field in image processing. Edge detection is in the forefront of image processing for object detection, it is crucial to have a good understanding of edge detection techniques. Various image edge detection techniques are introduced. These techniques are compared by using MATLAB7.0. The qualities of these techniques are elaborated. The results show that Canny edge detection techniques is better than others.

In order to improve the accuracy of image edge detection, this paper studies the adaptive image edge detection technology based on discrete algorithm and classical Canny operator. First, the traditional sub-pixel edge detection method is illustrated based on the related literature research. Then, Canny operator is used for detection, the edge model of the quadric curve is established using discrete data, and the adaptive image edge parameters are obtained using one-dimensional gray moment. Experimental results show that the accuracy of feature detection is 99%, which can be applied to the practice of image edge detection to a certain extent.

The development of dry cell production in the world is advancing towards the high-speed and intellectualization direction, the input reduction for production cost by improving the comprehensive performance level and utilizing the advanced equipment has been the urgent demand for development of battery industry. The lagging situation that the detection by naked eye manually is relied to perform the quality assurance for dry cell substratum is broken based on the online high-speed automatic detection technology for pixel digitization of visual image. The principles on battery image processing and feature division as well as the principle on pixel over- fitting and accurate rectification during the process of pixel digitization detection for dry cell substratum are discussed in this paper, and such base and core for battery image processing as edge detection and accurate rectification technology are described.

A measurement based on image process is proposed for detecting the hole on a barrel. The barrel image is separated from background with the image edge detection technology. The different detection operators are compared and the sobel operator is used for edge detection. The actual space position of the hole on barrel is computed by circle detecting method. Gradient hough transform is used for detecting circle position information, including circle radius and two dimension coordinates. The stepping motor drive system is consists of a control card, stepping motor drive units and two two-phase hybrid stepping motors. Automatic positioning is achieved through stepping motor drive system.

In water quality early warning system based on the abnormal behavior of fish, the core technology is building the fish movement model and obtaining the movement parameter based on this model. The fish body image accurate segmentation is the key to the implementation of this core technique. The single edge detection method can not accurately detect fish all edges. In the paper, the proposed solution is that the original image is firstly segmented by Canny operator and Log operator respectively and then the two segmented images are fused based on the wavelet transform. The fused image will obtain more complete target information from the two segmented images. The fish image acquired by the machine vision is processed according to the idea. The result shows that this method can obtain better edge detection effect. It will provide technical support for the live fish movement modeling.
