Abstract In this paper, Pb-63%Sn alloy was selected as an intermediate layer to plate on Q235 steel by the hot dipping method, and then the hot-dipped steel and the lead plate were welded by roll-bonding technology to prepare the lead-steel layered composite electrode materials. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy dispersion spectrum (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to characterize the interface morphology and phase composition of samples, and the interface formation mechanism was also discussed. The electrochemical properties of the lead-steel layered composite electrode under different rolling reduction ratio were studied by linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), Tafel polarization curves (Tafel) and weight-loss method. Subsequently, the prepared lead-steel layered composite electrodes were applied to the industrial production experiment for adiponitrile. The results indicated that lead-steel layered composite electrodes with excellent electrochemical properties were successfully prepared by hot dipping and roll-bonding technology. Analysis of microstructure and phase composition showed that the metallurgical bond of hot-dipped steel and lead plate could be achieved by the process of rolling, and the fracture feature was ductile fracture. And the conductivity, electrocatalytic activity and corrosion resistant of lead-steel layered composite electrode material were improved with the increase of rolling reduction ratio. The industrial production results showed that, compared with the traditional Pb-0.6%Ag electrode, the prepared lead-steel layered composite electrode at the rolling reduction ratio of 40% exhibited the best industrial performance, the current efficiency was increased by 4.94%, the average cell voltage was reduced by 19.4%, and the adiponectin yield was increased by 4.86%.

The Ag/Ni(OH)2 composite electrode has been designed and in situ constructed on a copper substrate by combining electroless deposition technology with electrodeposition. The products can be directly used as a high performance binder free electrode. The synergistic effect between the Ag nanocubes (AgNCs) as backbones and the deposited Ni(OH)2 as the shell can significantly improve the electrochemical properties of the composite electrode. Moreover, this in situ growth strategy forms a strong bonding force of active materials to the substrate, which can improve the cycling performance and lower the equivalent series resistance. The Ag/Ni(OH)2 composite electrode exhibits enhanced electrochemical properties with a high specific capacitance of 3.704 F cm−2, coulombic efficiency of 88.3% and long-term cyclic stability.

Acetylene Black (AB) and Fe2O3 nanoparticles were used as the additive and active materials, respectively for preparing Fe2O3/AB composite electrode. The effects of carbon additive and binder content on the electrochemical properties of Fe2O3/AB electrodes in alkaline solution were investigated to find the suitable anode for the Fe/air battery. The results of electrochemical measurements showed that both the AB additive and binder content significantly affected on the electrochemical behaviors of Fe2O3/AB electrodes. AB additive improves in redox reaction of iron oxide.

In this paper, a facilesolution method was employed to synthesize the graphene-NiO composite. SEM and XRD results indicated the graphene sheets were covered by the NiO nanoplates. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to measure the electrochemical properties of the composite. The specific capacitance reached 1292F/g at a scan rate of 5mV/s. The results show that this composite is a promising material for supercapacitor electrode.
