Exploding growth in the field of electronic information technology, the finger vein authentication technique plays a vibrant role for personal identification and verification. In recent era, this technique is gaining popularity, as it provides a high security and convenience approach for personal authentication. Vein biometrics is an emerging methodologycomparing to other systems, due to its strengths of low forgery risk, aliveness detection and stableness over long period of time. Literatures published based on different techniques used forand authentication process are described and evaluated in this paper. These processes hadgained an outstanding promise in variety of applications and much attention among researchers to provide combine accuracy, universality and cost efficiency. This paper in brief, reviews various approaches used for finger vein segmentation and feature extraction. The reviews are based on finger vein basic principles, image acquisition methodology, pre-processing functions, segmentation, feature extraction, classification, matching and identification procedures, which are analyzed scientifically, thoroughly and comprehensively.Based on the analysis, the ideal process and procedure is identified, which will be an idyllic solution for finger vein authentication.

In this paper the optimal location and number of intercoolers in a real compression process, including pressure losses, is derived by minimizing the compression specific work. Consequently the series of intermediate pressure values where the system intercoolers should be located is evaluated. As a result a solution different from the classical-isothermal compression process is obtained. The ideal process is evaluated and verified as a particular case by assuming no pressure losses. In reality, minimizing the compression work is only a partial criterion of optimization and the final decision regarding the optimal number of intercoolers should be obtained by using techno-economic criteria.

ABSTRACT We offer this paper as a primer for accounting doctoral students and new faculty on how to discuss a paper. We believe that this topic can serve to “jump start” the engagement of students and junior faculty in developing and delivering quality discussions. We begin by emphasizing the importance and benefits of being a good discussant to both the profession and the discussant. We then outline the discussion process and provide detailed suggestions on points to consider in each phase of this process: (1) volunteering to discuss, (2) receiving the discussion assignment, (3) preparing the discussion, (4) presenting the discussion, and (5) following up with the authors after the discussion. Next, we examine data that highlight the need for additional discussant volunteers at conferences. Finally, we present possible innovations to foster high-quality discussions. This paper formalizes the ideal process typically learned through years of mentoring and conference experience.

Based on MEMS technology, this paper realized the chip preparation of the synchronous initiation array and obtained the ideal process parameters. The MEMS multi-point exploding metal foil synchronous array chip replaces the traditional initiation array composed of electric detonators, and has a greatly reduced volume and could be prepared in batches. By testing the electrical explosion parameters of the array chip, the peak voltage, peak current, peak time and other data of different ignition voltages are obtained. At the same time, we proposed a method to test the synchronization of the array using multi-channel photonic doppler velocimetry, and obtained the synchronization data when the firing voltage was 2500 V and 2800 V, which provided help for the subsequent optimization design.

Changes in the field of observation and body image, attenuated grasp of reality and self-control, which may lead to identification with authority in the case of the shaman with supranormal powers, are all identifying features of shamanic ecstasy. It also appears that some of the basic elements of the shamanic tradition can be explained on the basis of typical marks of identification of altered states of consciousness. A sense of depersonalization and transcendence may in itself act as an impetus to cosmic journey fantasies. Without doubt, such feelings are at the very heart of the tradition containing the schism between mind and body. Thus, by placing the shamanic technique of ecstasy beside parallel modes of behaviour, possibly of different cultural background, we discover the guide lines for analysing its basic psychophysical properties. When studying a phenomenon such as shamanism, where the method of inducing trance is marked by the occurrence of certain common features and whose culturally-bound meaning and social function are, broadly speaking, uniform, we may assume that despite individual variation the basic mechanism of the technique of ecstasy may be delineated. What, then, is the ideal process of the shamanic trance technique? What factors exert particular pressure on the behaviour of the shaman? Shamanic practice differ from other means of attaining ecstasy with its emphasis on the ritual role-taking technique aimed at the supranormal counter-roles, the "spirit-helpers". The shaman's generalized reality orientation is cut off by means of suitable ritual requisites, the extinguishing of the lights and the noise of intensified drumming. Its place is taken by special orientation, a world created by the shamanic tradition, fantasies of supranormal beings and their dwelling places. The shaman actualises one spirit role after another according to a set pattern.

Drawing from the Enlightened Shareholder Theory that the author first developed in 2011, this theoretical paper with practical and normative ambitions achieves a better definition of independent director, while improving the understanding of the roles he fulfils on boards of directors. The first part defines constructs like firms, Governance system and Corporate governance, offering a clear distinction between the latter two concepts before explaining the four main missions of a board. The second part defines the ideal independent director by outlining the objective qualities that are necessary and adding those subjective aspects that have turned this into a veritable profession. The third part defines the ideal process for selecting independent directors, based on nominating committees that should themselves be independent. It also includes ways of assessing directors who are currently in function, as well as modalities for renewing their mandates. The paper’s conclusion presents the Paradox of the Independent Director.

With the resumption of economic growth, companies are experiencing problems with the lack of accuracy in the deliveries of their business partners with greater intensity; aiming to elucidate this fact, we have as example the study of the indicators of attendance of the problems that the company Honda Automóveis has received monthly in the last 15 months (period that includes part of the Brazilian economic recess and resumption of the economy growth). In order to analyze and explain the results about the new method of “auditing” in suppliers, where in the conventional way, it is audited in the processes evidencing the failure modes, being in charge of each of the business partners, assess the causes and mainly return with countermeasures, in the new condition (already in progress), is adopted the use of the audit process against what is understood to be an ideal process in each step that makes the manufacture of a product in the entire logistics chain in bound and out bound) as well as assess deviations from Quality and Logistics. Thus, the present study aims to evaluate nonconventional method of application of audit in business partner and evaluate the evolution in the service question.

This paper deals with the optimization of the production process of vibrocasted refractory products. The main goal is to make efficient and automate the production of moulds for refractory blocks. A theoretical research was followed by an expert analysis of the current state of the manufacturing process at an industrial partner. The next step was to analyze complete portfolio of refractory vibrocasted products, which results in choosing a representative sample whose dimensions most correspond to majority of the moulds produced. Subsequently, a design was done, to make the production process more effective with respect to time, technology and construction aspects, focusing on increasing productivity, reducing human labour and increasing production modernization. In the end, the design options were evaluated in terms of time and cost, and the ideal process of the manufacturing production was recommended with respect to the latest technology. It includes a solution for material composition and optimized design of moulds for vibrocasted refractory materials to increase production efficiency moulds and cost reduction while maintaining mould accuracy and quality. These products are subject to high demands in terms of material quality and precision, and at the same time costly to produce due to manual manufacturing.
