Atopic dermatitis (AD) is an inherited inflammatory disease of skin, multifactor or monogenic nature, characterized by itching, chronic recurrent current and age-specific features of localisation and morphology of lesion centers. The proportion of the disease in the structure of skin diseases is currently between 10 and 30%. When the process acquires a persistent course with an unparalleled effect from the performed therapy and exacerbations of the process up to 3-4 per year with increase of their duration, it becomes sluggish (torpedo) [1, 3]. The torpedo course of AD leads the patient to a decrease in the quality of life due to physical discomfort and emotional disadaptation. Approaches to treatment in theory depend on the mechanism of disease development.

The bark ofBauhinia tomentosaL. is used for inflammation, wound, dysentery, skin diseases and for microbial infections. In order to ensure the use of only genuine and uniform material in preparation of herbal formulation, work on standardization was carried out. Macroscopic, microscopic and physico-chemical characteters determination have been carried out, which would facilitate quick identification and selection of the drug from various adulterants.

Introduction. Promising sources of preparation of antiinflammatory drugs of interest for practical medicine are substances of plant origin. One of them is eucalimine, isolated from leaves or shoots of eucalyptus prutoid (Eucalyptus viminalis Labil) of the myrtle family (Myrtaceae), is a purified sum of terpenoid phenoloaldehydes of the floroglucine series (euglobals) and triterpenoids.Aim. The purpose of the present work is to create drug pencils with eucalimine for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory skin diseases.Materials and methods. The object of research is eucalymin. The study of the shape and size of ekalimine particles and its distribution in various dispersion media: cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, emulsion wax, castor oil, peach oil, medical petroleum jelly was carried out. Results and discussion. The paper presents the results of experimental studies justifying the selection of adjuvants for medical pencils and their standardization.Conclusion. The composition and technology of medicinal pencils with eucalimine for external use has been developed, quality indicators have been established.

The creation of the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) questionnaire facilitated many studies on the impact of skin diseases on patients’ quality of life (QoL). Many national and international guidelines recommend QoL assessment in dermatology, and some of them contain detailed recommendations on treatment goals and changes of treatment approaches based on DLQI score banding and minimal clinically important difference. The methodology of QoL in strument development and validation is constantly becoming more rigorous. Initiatives on selection of core outcome sets for skin diseases are focused on clinical trials but may also be beneficial for clinicians. There are various benefits of using QoL information in clinical practice, but experience of this is very limited at the moment. QoL assessment in dermatology is a rapidly developing field with a gradual shift from theory to practice.

Analysis of prescription and consumption of medicines in children and adolescentsIn our study we analysed the prescription and consumption of medicines in children and adolescents. A total of 5200 medical prescriptions realized by a community pharmacy were evaluated. By selection of medical prescriptions prescribed to patients in the age group of up to 18 years of age a study group of 233 prescriptions was made. The group was identified by age and sex of the patients. In the group of prescriptions we analysed the incidence of individual diagnoses and consumption of medicines from different points of view, according to age, sex and rate of individual diagnoses according to the ATC system. Based on our analysis it was concluded, that the most frequent diseases affecting children and adolescents are diseases of the respiratory system, diseases of the ear and mastoid process, digestive system and skin diseases. With the exception of diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, the incidence of all diseases is quite similar in both sexes. In the present, the consumption of prescription medicines used by children and adolescents is still very high mainly in the age group from 7 to 15 years of age.

Abstract In this chapter, I examine the use of mercury with a special focus on its application as an ingredient in antisyphilitic medicines and therapies in a selection of medieval Persian scientific texts that represent either the earliest or the most influential works of their genre. Works examined include the earliest Persian pharmacological work, written by Abū Manṣūr Muwaffaq between 965 and 975 CE, which mentions mercury as a medicine against skin diseases and “killed mercury” (zībaq-i kušta) Since there is no generally accepted transliteration of Persian, the system of the Swiss library network IDS is used, which is based on the ISO standard. Vowels are transliterated with their premodern values ā, ī, ū, a, i, u (without considering maǧhūl vowels ē and ō); in modern pronounciation they are/a/,/i/,/u/,/a/,/e/,/o/respectively. as a poison; a general work on medicine written by Bahāʾ ad-Dawla Rāzī in 1501–2 CE, in which syphilis is described for the first time in Asia; a chapter from the Ǧāmiʿ al-fawāʾid (c.1511 CE) by Yūsufī, the earliest Persian work in which mercury plays an unmistakenly dominant role in the treatment of syphilis; and finally, the first Persian monograph on syphilis, written by Imād al-Dīn Maḥmūd Shīrāzī in the mid-sixteenth century, which lists recipes the author claims are derived from Chinese and European sources. This article will furthermore provide the first complete translation into a European language of Yūsufi’s chapter on syphilis in the Ǧāmiʿ al-fawāʾid, together with an edition of the Persian text.

Sanitary napkins during menstruation are the main requirement. According to research, disposable sanitary napkins currently used are carcinogenic and contain harmful substances that can cause dangerous diseases for the reproductive organs. The general objective of this study was to determine the relationship between student knowledge and interest in the selection of cloth sanitary napkins. The design of this study used a literature review design. Articles are collected using search engines such as EBSCO, Sciencedirect, Proquest, and Google Scholar. The criteria for the articles used were those published in 2019 and 2020. Based on the articles collected, it was found that there was a relationship between knowledge and interest. According to the researchers, this happened because these three studies had the same subject characteristics. The research respondents were women who had experienced menstruation and the similarity of research in choosing the right and safe, sanitary napkins for women's reproductive health. A woman is expected to be able to choose the right sanitary napkin. Mistakes in choosing pads can result in skin irritation, allergies, skin diseases, and infections. The choice of sanitary napkins is also adjusted to the activities a woman will do.
