Online grocery retail services are a new trend in Indian urban cities. The two large players namely Grofersand Big Basket attracting customers. The study is an attempt to understand the changing scenario in grocery retail sector. The prime objective of the study is to explore the factors that are attracting customers to choose e retail for Groceries. The data was collected through questionnaire from 100 respondents. Factor analysis (Principle Component Analysis method) was used to explore the influencing factors. These results have shown that mainly customer service, convenience, loyalty rewards, product vailability and payment options are attracting the customers to choose Grophers and Big Basket. These companies have a huge untapped markets and will easily convert the habits of customers in Urban areas.

PurposeLand value is a measure of the specific features of a property, excluding buildings and other developments. Land value varies depending on the economic, geographic and political aspects of a particular location. The primary purpose of the paper is to identify the general and location-specific attributes impacting property prices in urban Kerala.Design/methodology/approachThe objective of the current study was achieved through a three-cycle Delphi survey and relative importance index (RII) approach. The experts who aided in the survey had a mutual interest in the subject but came from different backgrounds like property valuation, real estate, urban and environmental planning. The initial group of variables identified from the literature was expanded and scrutinized in the first cycle of the Delphi survey. The variables were grouped into five major categories and 13 subcategories based on the literature and expert opinion. In the subsequent stages, the short-listed variables were rated on a seven-point Likert scale until a consensus was attained. The top-ranked variables were identified through the RII method as the critical factors influencing land value in urban Kerala.FindingsThe results indicate that road accessibility and proximity to nuisance sources are the most crucial parameters. The outcome of the study will provide a better understanding of the dynamics of land value and the influencing factors in urban areas.Originality/valuePrevious studies do not give much consideration for the location-specific variability on the influencing parameters. Property management research has not considered the usage of expert opinion and RII for variable selection.

Background This study aims to understand the key factors influencing guardians’ decisions when purchasing spectacles for their children in semi-urban and urban areas of Cross River State, Nigeria, where a spectacle cross-subsidisation scheme will be implemented. Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted among all consecutive guardians visiting the Calabar (urban), Ugep, Ikom and Ogoja (semi-urban) public eye clinics in Cross River State, southern Nigeria, from August 1 to October 31 2019, and whose children had significant refractive errors (myopia ≤-0.50D, hyperopia ≥1.50D, astigmatism >0.75D) and received spectacles. Guardians were interviewed using a questionnaire which included i) close-ended questions on reasons guardians choose to purchase spectacles for their children in eye clinics, ii) guardians’ perceptions of the quality and design of children’s current spectacle, iii) factors most heavily influencing their choice of spectacles for children, and iv) open-ended questions to seek guardians’ suggestions on how to improve the current spectacle range. Results All 137 eligible guardians (67.2% women [n = 92]) who visited the selected eye clinics participated in the study (response rate = 100%), with 109 (79.6%) from semi-urban and 28 (20.4%) attending urban clinics. Guardians from both urban and semi-urban clinics prioritised frame design, quality, and material as the main factors affecting their decision when purchasing spectacles for their children. Female guardians and those with higher incomes were both 1.5 times more likely to emphasise frame quality when describing selection criteria for purchasing spectacles for their children than male guardians (p = 0.01) or guardians earning less (p = 0.03). Conclusion Design, material, and frame quality are key factors influencing guardians when purchasing spectacles for their children in these setting and female guardians or those with higher income prioritise frame quality. This study could guide the planning and implementation of a novel cross-subsidisation scheme in Cross River State.

COVID-19 pandemic is a public health emergency of international agony and poses a significant mental health threat among university students in Bangladesh. This study aims to explore the factors influencing the anxiety level of the students graduating into this pandemic. An online study was conducted and we sampled final year university students from Hamdard University Bangladesh by using convenience sampling. They responded to a questionnaire packet that included the 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) and those inquiring about the respondents’ demographic and other relevant information. Results indicated that 13.46% of the students were experiencing severe anxiety. Furthermore, living in urban areas (OR = 3.12, 95% CI = 0.95 – 10. 16), being poor (OR = 34. 11, 95% CI = 2.52 – 461.67) and having relatives or acquaintances infected with COVID-19 (OR = 3.21, 95% CI = 0.06 – 0.69) were risk factors for anxiety. Conversely, living with parents (OR = 0.12, 95% CI = 0.02 – 0.63) was a protective factor against the anxiety of university finalists. Also, results of correlation analysis indicated that academic delays worry about finding a job, financial condition and influence on daily life were positively related to the level of anxiety symptoms (P < 0.05), whereas social support, was negatively correlated with their anxiety (P > 0.05). It is recommended that the mental health of students graduating amid this pandemic should be monitored to provide crisisoriented mental services to alleviate the anxiousness of the university finalists.

Purpose The selection of marketing channels by vegetable producers directly affects the income of producers and is important for the maintenance of a stable supply of vegetables and food control. The purpose of this paper is threefold: to investigate the cooperative selection of vegetable marketing channels; to identify the factors that influence the selection of marketing channels by professional vegetable cooperatives by comparing emerging and traditional circulation modes; and to solve the problems related to vegetable circulation channels in Beijing. Design/methodology/approach A total of 187 valid questionnaires were collected from seven main vegetable production districts in Beijing urban areas from September to December 2017, with a response rate of 89 percent. Binary logistic regression was used for analysis in this study. Findings Results revealed that the cooperatives mainly selected large wholesalers, wholesale markets, supermarkets and electronic commerce as their marketing channels for their vegetables. Estimation results showed that among the 18 influencing factors in the four categories, the educational level of the person in charge and some other factors significantly influence the selection of these four distribution channels by the cooperatives. Research limitations/implications Due to the lack of time and energy, this paper does not analyze the factors influencing a cooperative’s choice of different e-commerce platforms. If this problem can be solved, it will definitely promote the development of e-commerce in rural areas. Originality/value The results obtained in the present study and their implications could help policy makers establish a science-based and reasonable policy to encourage vegetable producers to participate in the new circulation modes of vegetables in Beijing and ensure their income in the vegetable supply chain. This study suggests methods to improve the vegetable sector in other cities facing similar issues.
