AbstractClinical case presentation is part of daily routine for doctors to communicate with each other to facilitate learning, and ultimately patient management. Hence, the art of good clinical case presentation is a skill that needs to be mastered. Case presentations are a part of most undergraduate and postgraduate training programs aimed at nurturing oratory and presentation design skills. This article is an attempt at providing a trainee in radiology a guideline to good case presentation skills.

The presented clinical case describes the development of diffuse myocarditis in a 31-year-old man with the outcome of dilated cardiomyopathy and terminal chronic heart failure, resistant to drug therapy that required heart transplantation. Discussed aspects of diagnosis, clinical manifestations, tactics of patient management and indications for heart transplantation.

Currently, in pediatric practice, a special place is occupied by patients with severe allergic lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, which often manifest immediately after the birth of a child. Food protein-induced enteropathy reduces the quality of life of the child and family; it is difficult to diagnose and to treat. We present a clinical case of a patient with food protein-induced enteropathy, complicated by severe B12-deficiency anemia and edema syndrome. In the tactics of patient management, attention is paid to the late diagnosis of the underlying disease and complications, the complexity of prescribing diet therapy and the lack of alertness regarding the diagnosis of malabsorption associated with food intolerance.

Abstract Background There are no published case reports that hematomas occur on the floor of the mouth as a result of periodontal surgery. Report These three case reports document post surgical hematoma formation on the floor of the mouth that pose problems with the diagnosis, prognosis, and patient management. All cases involved periodontal surgery where extensive reduction of tori and bony exostoses were required. Two cases resulted in hematomas in the floor of the mouth. However, a change in the post surgical management for a third case demonstrated possible prevention of hematoma formation. Summary Hematomas in the floor of the mouth can be a resolving post surgical phenomenon or a serious vascular insult to this region of the oral cavity. This report clarifies the diagnosis, prognosis, and the best management protocol through the presentation of three cases. Citation Mantzikos K, Segelnick SL, Schoor R. Angioedema is caused by a local increase in vascular permeability induced by bradykinin or mast cell mediators. The main challenge of the differential diagnosis of angioedema lies in the fact that different pathophysiological processes may lead to a very similar clinical picture. Moreover, verification of the type of angioedema is crucial for selection of appropriate therapy. In 2020, a school for doctors Chronic urticaria: scientific and medical accomplishments and practical aspects of patient management was held on the basis of the National Research Center Institute of Immunology of the FMBA of Russia as part of the work of the reference center that provides expert assistance to patients with urticaria (GALEN UCARE). A clinical case series of related patients with hereditary angioedema due to a mutation in the PLG gene was presented to demonstrate the challenges of the differential diagnosis between types of angioedema. This article focused on the description of this series.

The optimum methods of testing anterior and posterior pituitary function and the interpretation of the results are subjects of continuing debate. The syndromes associated with and consequences of hypo- and hyperpituitarism, and the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes insipidus are all discussed elsewhere in this book. The intention of this chapter is to describe the physiological basis and evidence in favour of the various available tests of anterior pituitary function, discuss the limitations of using artificial assessments on which to base patient management decisions and, ultimately, endeavour to produce a rational approach to the investigation of suspected hypopituitarism.

Calcium channel blockers (CCB) like Amlodipine, Nifedipine etc are widely used as anti-hypertensive drugs which on chronic intake shows gingival enlargement. It is an iatrogenic response of gingival tissue to these drugs along with other category of medications like antiepileptics and immunosuppressants. A unique case of long standing gingival overgrowth due to prolonged usage of CCB such as Amlodipine in a geriatric patient are portrayed herewith clinical, histopathological attributes and management protocol.
