The current data recording technology is approaching its capacity limit approximately 1 Tbit/in2(terabits per square inch) known as superparamagnetic limit. Heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) is one of the promising technologies that is being planned to be used as a new data recording technology to achieve the storage capacity beyond 1 Tbit/in2. In HAMR, the laser is applied to heat a magnetic medium during the writing process, which results in the unique transition characteristics if compared to a conventional system. This paper investigates the effects of thermal and cross-track variations to the transition characteristics (both transition center and transition parameter) of longitudinal HAMR systems. Experimental results indicate that the longitudinal HAMR system can withstand some amount of thermal and cross-track variations and still provides satisfactory system performance.

Abstrak Vahicle Routing Problem adalah suatu masalah pencaian jalur yang akan dilalui dengan tujuan mencari rute yang paling cepat atau pendek. Vahicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (VRPTW) yang merupakan sebutan bagi VRP dengan kendala tambahan berupa adanya time windows pada masing-masing pelanggan yang dalam hal ini berupa destinasi wisata. Dalam penelitian ini diterapkan Honey Bee Mating Optimization (HBMO) dalam menyelesaikan VRPTW. HBMO sendiri terinspirasi oleh perilaku koloni lebah ketika bereproduksi. Algoritma tersebut bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pencarian individu atau solusi terbaik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana mengimplementasikan Honey Bee Mating Optimization dalam menyelesaikan VRPTW pada perencanaan jalur wisata di Malang. Sehingga dapat meminimumkan waktu dan jarak tempuh perjalanan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, parameter yang optimal untuk optimasi VRPTW menggunakan HBMO pada kasus perencannan jalur wisata Malang yaitu dengan menggunakan 800 generasi, populasi lebah jantan sebesar 300, batas kapasitas spermatheca sejumlah 100, nilai mutation ratio (Pm) dan royal jelly masing-masing bernilai 0.5.Abstract Vahicle Routing Problem is a problem of finding the best route that will be passed with the purpose to finding the fastest or shortest route. Vahicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (VRPTW) is a part of VRP with additional obstacles in the form of time windows in each customer. In this research, Honey Bee Mating Optimization (HBMO) was applied to completing VRPTW. HBMO itself was inspired by the behavior of bee colonies when reproducing. The purpose of this algorithm is to evaluate the best individual or the best solutions. The purpose of this research is how to implement Honey Bee Mating Optimization to completing VRPTW in Malang tourism route planning. So that it can minimize travel time and distance. Based on the results of the testing, the optimal parameters for VRPTW optimization using HBMO in Malang tourism route planning case are using 800 generations, the male bee population is 300, the capacity limit of spermatheca is 100, the mutation ratio (Pm) and royal jelly are respectively 0.5.

We suggest a neurophysiological account of the short-term memory capacity limit based on a model of visual working memory (Raffone & Wolters, in press). Simulations have revealed a critical capacity limit of about four independent patterns. The model mechanisms may be applicable to working memory in general and they allow a reinterpretation of some of the issues discussed by Cowan.

Cowan assumes that chunk-based capacity limits are synonymous with the essence of a “specialized STM mechanism.” In a single experiment, we measured the capacity, or span, of long-term memory and found that it, too, corresponds roughly to the magical number 4. The results imply that a chunk-based capacity limit is not a signature characteristic of remembering over the short-term.

In view of the network carrying capacity limit under over-saturated condition, a split allocation model of intersection group was developed, which takes total network delay, total output and total queue length as a comprehensive evaluation index. Based on the analysis of the influence of traffic flow turning, road section capacity, signal cycle length and split on traffic control, under the condition of network carrying capacity limit, the global optimization of intersection group splits was realized, taking the network traffic operation state as the basic judgment criterion and the corresponding constraint conditions were constructed. The numerical example analysis and simulation results show that the proposed model can ensure the traffic signal control effect under the premise of different demand states and control objectives, so that the effective prevention and quick dredging of traffic congestion can be realized under the condition of the network carrying capacity limit.

Energy crisis and environmental pollution have become global problems, and the increasing use of energy has caused climate change. Electric vehicle (EV) is regarded as the future of the automotive industry, because of the lesser impact on the environment than traditional vehicles. In recent years, electric vehicles have developed rapidly. However, the development of charging points and service cannot adapt to the development trend of EV. In urban areas, the distribution characteristics of street lighting and charging points are similar. Therefore, the street lighting pole with EV charging is proposed. However, due to the capacity limit of public grid, the single hybrid pole is only suitable for slow charging. This paper proposes hybrid poles group based on renewable energy, street lighting, and EV charging, which can realize fast charging and slow charging based on DC micro-grid with help of energy storage device. For studying the suitable number in a group of smart hybrid pole, the efficiency model of smart hybrid poles group is proposed. The efficiency model indicates that the group approach has better performance than the single pole, which provides a theoretical basis for practical construction.
