Collision detection in Vega Prime is based on the simple line segment, and collision detection based on bounding box is not realized. By studying the composition of three-dimensional object based on Oriented Bounding Box (OBB), we define a collision detection class, which inherits from vpIsector. After finding out all vertices of geometry in object, we connect these vertices one by one and constitute a tend line. The trend line constitutes our bounding box based on OBB. Now, our collision detection is based on three-dimensional objects, but not the simple line segment. At the same time, we can control the efficiency of collision detection by increasing or decreasing the number of collision lines on the actual demand. Additionally, on this basis, we have made the further application. By adjusting parameter, we can get a bounding box with early warning mechanism or collision tolerance.

Background. The patella is the largest sesamoid bone in the body; its three-dimensional complexity necessitates biomechanical perfection. Numerous pathologies occur at the patellofemoral unit which may end in degenerative changes. This study aims to test the presence of statistical correlation between the surface areas of patellar facets and other patellar morphometric parameters. Materials and Methods. Forty dry human patellae were studied. The morphometry of each patella was measured using a digital Vernier Caliper, electronic balance, and image analyses software known as ImageJ. The patellar facetal surface area was correlated with patellar weight, height, width, and thickness. Results. Inferential statistics proved the existence of linear correlation of total facetal surface area and patellar weight, height, width, and thickness. The correlation was strongest for surface area versus patellar weight. The lateral facetal area was found persistently larger than the medial facetal area, the p value was found to be <0.001 (one-tailed t-test) for right patellae, and another significant p value of < 0.001 (one-tailed t-test) was found for left patellae. Conclusion. These data are vital for the restoration of the normal biomechanics of the patellofemoral unit; these are to be consulted during knee surgeries and implant designs and can be of an indispensable anthropometric, interethnic, and biometric value.

Documentation on archaeological fieldworks needs to be accurate and time-effective. Many features unveiled during excavations can be recorded just once, since the archaeological workflow physically removes most of the stratigraphic elements. Some of them have peculiar characteristics which make them hardly recognizable as objects and prevent a full 3D documentation. The paper presents a suitable feature-based method to carry on archaeological documentation with a three-dimensional approach, tested on the archaeological site of S. Calocero in Albenga (Italy). The method is based on one hand on the use of structure from motion techniques for on-site recording and 3D Modelling to represent the three-dimensional complexity of stratigraphy. The entire documentation workflow is carried out through digital tools, assuring better accuracy and interoperability. Outputs can be used in GIS to perform spatial analysis; moreover, a more effective dissemination of fieldworks results can be assured with the spreading of datasets and other information through web-services.

A rare three-dimensional chaotic system with all eigenvalues equal to zero is proposed, and its dynamical properties are investigated. The chaotic system has one equilibrium point at the origin. Numerical analysis shows that the equilibrium point is unstable. Bifurcation analysis of the system shows various dynamics in a period-doubling route to chaos. We highlight that from the evaluation of the entropy, bifurcation points can be predicted by identifying early warning signals. In this manner, bifurcation points of the system are analyzed using Shannon and Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy. The results are compared with Lyapunov exponents.
