In this article, we report the results of experimental studies on the impact of ball burnishing parameters on the roughness, microstructure and microhardness of the surface layer of laser-cut C45 steel parts. We also analysed the distribution of residual stresses generated in the surface layer of these parts. Laser-cut parts often require finishing to improve the quality of their surface. The tests performed in this study were aimed at assessing whether ball burnishing could be used as a finishing operation for parts of this type. Ball burnishing tests were performed on an FV-580a vertical machining centre using a mechanically controlled burnishing tool. The following parameters were varied during the ball burnishing tests: burnishing force Fn, path interval fw and the diameter of the burnishing ball dn. Ball burnishing of laser-cut C45 steel parts reduced the surface roughness parameters Sa and Sz by up to 60% in relation to the values obtained after laser cutting. Finish machining also led to the reorganization of the geometric structure of the surface, resulting in an increase in the absolute value of skewness Ssk. This was accompanied by an increment in microhardness (maximum microhardness increment was ΔHV = 95 HV0.05, and the thickness of the hardened layer was gh = 40 µm) and formation of compressive residual stresses in the surface layer.

As a result of the analysis of developed earlier mathematical models of the process of seeds purification on a two-tier lattice mill of polymeric materials the possibility of significant improvement in the quality of seed treatment and performance at the same quality at the expense of more rational technological schemes and modernization of the sieve camp’s were revealed. Constructive changes were made in the lattice mill with using a new type of polymer sieves. Result of this experimental studies confirm the identified possibility of intensification of the process of seed cleaning - completeness of waste allocation increased from 0,653 to 0.75, i.e. 15 %, performance for the same quality of cleaning have increased by 24%.

In this paper the application of laser cutting methods for polymeric materials working is under consideration. The authors analyze the laser beam effect upon polymers reasoning from the peculiarities of their structure and properties. The methods to eliminate defects at polymer laser cutting, the methods to increase the interaction effectiveness of radiation with material, process quality are offered. To determine the dependences of a cut width and a value of flash formed at the beam input and its output of material worked there were carried out experiments at different rates and constant capacity of CO2-laser. According the results of the researches carried out the optimum working modes were established.

High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE) is one of the best materials for use in different environmental conditions. This is due to the mechanical, chemical and electrical specifications of this type, in terms of thermal insulation, lightweight, low cost, and most importantly the time factor. The molecular structure of the High Density Poly Ethylene material has made it the ideal choice for use in the pipe industry, and the transportation of various liquids, compared with the metal pipes and especially in the transportation of water, oil, and gas. And because of the frequent use, especially in the workplace. The need to use the cutting for these pipes has become necessary for the purpose of establishing networks for the transfer of fluids. In this research, the construction of holes in the pipes and measurements and angles of different for the purpose of taking advantage of these openings in the construction of networks. The laser was used as one of the modern cutting methods for the purpose of studying the efficiency and performance of CO2 laser cutting on High Density Poly Ethylene, especially on pipes, PN 16 PE 100, 110 mm diameter, and tested under a CO2 laser machine, by using a three different kinds of gases, such as the air and the nitrogen N2 , to estimate the changing and evaluate the quality of cutting with striation and kerf width of the High Density Poly Ethylene.

Describe the parameters influencing the depth of the laser marking of textile products. Experimental results are presented to determine the quality of cuts on felt surfaces of different colors at specific parameters - power and speed. Approximately 100 extras were made on two materials with a change in laser power and speed. As a result, the optimal results for cutting and marking a felt are shown.
