Thermophysical properties of liquid dibromomethane are investigated by molecular dynamics simulations between 268 and 328 K at pressures up to 3000 bar. Notably, the isotherms of the isobaric thermal expansivity cross around 800 bar.

The all-electron full-potential linearized muffin-tin orbital method, by means of quasi-harmonic Debye model, is applied to investigate the elastic constant and thermodynamic properties of body-centered-cubic tantalum (bcc Ta). The calculated elastic constants of bcc Ta at 0 K is consistent with the previous experimental and theoretical results. Our calculations give the correct trends for the pressure dependence of elastic constants. By using the convenient quasi-harmonic Debye model, we refined the thermal equations of state. The thermal expansivity and some other thermal properties agree well with the previous experimental and theoretical results.

The present paper proposes a computing model for temperature dependence of volume thermal expansivity, volume expansion ratio and second order temperature derivative of volume based on the assumption that the product αKT remains constant at high temperatures and zero pressure. We have taken NaCl and KCl to testify the validity of the present model. A fairly close agreement between the calculated results and experimental data strongly supports the present model.
