Keywords : e-Learning, Virtual Class, Metode Synchronous Learning, Media Pembelajaran.

AbstractDigital media offers multiple possibilities for inclusion of people with disabilities. Nevertheless, they pose barriers especially for blind learners as they hinder an active participation in synchronous learning settings. Virtual classrooms are a particularly good example for a complex media application as they combine various media types such as audio, video, graphical content and text which can only partially be perceived. Our work pursues the goal to facilitate an equal participation in virtual classrooms for blind users. In order to overcome these barriers, alternative user interface concepts for the display on a two-dimensional tactile Braille device have been conceived. Based on these concepts, the virtual classroom solution BigBlueButton was improved thereupon. A subsequent evaluation simulated a learning session with blind users in order to determine the acceptance and usability of the software adaptation. This user study shows that an active participation of blind learners in virtual classroom sessions can be achieved by using multimodal output devices and alternative concepts.

Currently there are a variety of new innovations in the world of education, especially in the learning process. One such innovation is constructivism. The choice of approach is more so that learning makes students enthusiastic about existing problems so they want to try to solve the problem. Classroom learning that uses constructivism, will make students empowered by the knowledge within them. They share strategies and solutions, debate one another, think critically about the best way to solve each problem. In this case Edmodo provides an environment where teaching and learning can produce student excitement that will make students more independent without forgetting the standards for measuring student success. It is undeniable that students will like learning through this platform, and when students feel comfortable, their desire to be able to understand new material, and the spirit of overcoming difficulties will increase in the learning process. Edmodo is one of the ways to build student enthusiasm for learning. Edmodo can help teachers build a virtual classroom based on the division of real classes in schools, where in the class there are assignments, quizzes, and grading at the end of each learning.

Despite the growing number of research on Willingness to Communicate (WTC) in English students, research of teachers’ WTC in English is still scarce. At the same time, the fluctuations of WTC in English in authentic classroom interactions are still under research. This study aims to observe the fluctuations in WTC of the English lecturer in the Indonesian context. The data were collected through video recordings during an online classroom learning session where participants were teaching their students. The data were then transcribed, coded, and analyzed thematically by drawing from MacIntyre et al.’s (1998) Heuristic Model. From the results of the analysis, WTC fluctuations in English are divided into four factors: (1) modeling the use of English in the classroom, (2) the power of affirmation, (3) focusing on the message, and (4) showing language similarity. The implication of this study is also discussed. DOI: 10.26905/enjourme.v6i2.5983

This study aims to explain the learning models of flipped virtual classroom that can be applied in virtual classrooms in discourse analysis in Translation courses. When teaching, the learning model is explained by using video as an appropriate and efficient choice pattern to achieve learning objectives. Flipped virtual classroom is a learning model that transfers synchronous virtual classroom models to asynchronous virtual classroom models. The research method in this discourse analysis in Translation course was through literary sources. The purpose of the research is to provide information about virtual learning methods as a means of enhancing learning and language proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia combined with translation reflection theory. The virtual learning model can be combined with variations of learning models such as: Problem-based Learning, Inquiry-based Learning, Project-based Learning, Research-based Learning. In conclusion, through the choice of an asynchronous virtual classroom learning model and the application of discourse analysis in Translation as a reflection activity in translation, students are able to make a more detailed and deeper translation analysis.

The Covid-19 pandemic greatly affected the education sector in the Philippines. From the traditional face to face classroom teaching-learning, schools shifted to flexible learning and virtual classrooms; where learners and educators need to hurdle numerous difficulties such as resources, curriculum revisions and problems in internet connectivity. This is a major concern because the Philippines ranked 77 among the countries with the slowest and least stable Internet connection in the world. This collaborative research among different colleges and universities in the Philippines explored the prevailing concerns of virtual classroom learning to come up with a program that benefits learners and educators in the country. Utilizing descriptive-correlational design, an online survey using Google Form was conducted in the respondent schools after the implementation of virtual learning. A total of 2,444 students from different levels, private and government schools with varying age and sex participated through snowballing data gathering technique. Results revealed that the respondents’ considered themselves physically prepared; but they are not psychological-emotionally and financially prepared in their virtual classroom learning. The students experienced challenges in terms of teacher, curriculum and resources factors. The students perceived that most teachers are unaware that learners differ in terms of capabilities in online learning; thus, they prefer a student-friendly curriculum; and they suggested that the capability of students to have appropriate gadgets and internet connectivity should be looked into by the educators. Significant differences were established between the profile characteristics and preparedness and challenges experienced by the students in their virtual classroom learning. Furthermore, the preparedness and challenges experienced in virtual learning of the respondents are significantly correlated. A proposed program that benefits the students and educators was designed as an output of this research which is recommended for implementation in government and private schools in the Philippines.
