The differential cross sections for 4.3 MeV neutrons elastically scattered from natural samples of U, Bi, and Pb have been measured at laboratory angles of 5, 10, and 15°. In the case of uranium, the data are consistent with calculations based on the nuclear optical model and known electromagnetic interactions. Less satisfactory agreement to the data is obtained in the cross section measurements for lead and bismuth.

The cross sections and spin observables of the p+d elastic scattering have been measured at 392 MeV. The results are compared with the results of Faddeev calculations with and without including the three nucleon force.

The elastic scattering angular distributions of weakly bound nucleus$^{8}$Li on $^{7}$Li, $^{9}$Be, $^{12}$C, $^{13}$C, $^{14}$N,$^{27}$Al, $^{51}$V, $^{58}$Ni, and $^{208}$Pb are analyzed atvarious incident energies. For this purpose, the real potential isgenerated for nine different density distributions of the $^{8}$Linucleus by using the double folding model within the optical model. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimentaldata. In our study, also, new and practical sets of imaginarypotentials for the investigated densities are derived.

Results of calculations of cross sections for elastic electron and positron scattering are given in angular steps of 15 degrees for elements Z=6, 13, 29, 50, 82, and 92 and energies T=0.2, 0.4, 0.7, 1, 2, 4, and 10 MeV. The calculation is based on the separability of the cross section into two factors, one describing screening and the other, spin and relativistic effects. The first factor is obtained by the MOLIÈRE approximation 8. The second factor is taken from a paper by DOGGETT and SPENCER 5. Different screening potentials for Z=29 were applied.

A systematic analysis of alpha(4 He )-nucleus elastic scattering is made by using a microscopic optical model potential obtained by the double folding of a complex nucleon-nucleon (NN) effective interaction based on the G-matrix theory. We adopt the so-called JLM interaction as the complex NN interaction and test its applicability to the 4 He elastic scattering by 12 C , 16 O , 28 Si and 40 Ca . The experimental cross sections for incident energies ranging from E Lab = 40 to 240 MeV are well reproduced by the double folding potential up to backward angles. Although modification of the real and imaginary potential strength by about 25% and 35%, respectively, in average is necessary to reproduce the data, the renormalization factors are found to be almost constant with respect to the incident energy and target mass number.

The elastic scattering of deuterons, 3 He and 4 He on 6 Li at different incident energies have been analyzed in the framework of the optical model (OM) using ECIS88 as well as SPI GENOA codes. The optical potential parameters were extracted in the phenomenological treatment. A good agreement between theoretical and experimental differential cross-sections was obtained in whole angular range. Parameters for real part of potential have been also calculated microscopically with double-folding model for the d, 3 He and 4 He scattering, respectively, using DFPOT code. The elastic transfer mechanism has been studied by coupled reaction channel (CRC) method using FRESCO code. Spectroscopic amplitudes of 6 Li ≡ t + 3 He and 6 Li ≡ α + d configurations have been extracted from d, 3 He and 4 He scattering on 6 Li at wide energy range. A comparison between spectroscopic amplitudes obtained from deuteron and α elastically scattering from 6 Li has been made. The extracted spectroscopic amplitudes of 6 Li ≡ 4 He + d( SF = SA 2) from 6 Li (d, 6 Li )d and 6 Li (α, 6 Li )α are not the same as expected theoretically.

A 970 MeV proton beam has been passed through a hydrogen-filled diffusion cloud chamber located in a pulsed magnetic field, and a total of 1029 proton-proton interactions observed. The cross-sections for the possible reactions, and the angular distribution for the elastic scattering, have been determined. The effects of scanning losses on these quantities are discussed.
