Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is better than other imaging equipment in detecting tumors, and navigation for robotic breast intervention biopsy. However, material requirements for robots driving devices are demanding incredibly because of the environment. Given this problem, a novel double cable-conduit driving method is put forward in this paper, which can be used in MRI for breast intervention robots. Besides, lebus grooves are adopted to the driving wheels, which enable the system to realize remote-range and large-scale driving on the premise that the precision can be further enhanced. The driving characteristic of the novel cable-conduit is established. Moreover, the cable-conduit experimental data proves the results of theoretical deduction. Finally, the cable-conduit driving device is compensated, the average errors in the [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] directions of the needle tip entering the tissue are less than 2[Formula: see text]mm. The consequence verifies that it can meet the requirements for breast biopsy robot application under MR environment.

Kata kunci: Status Gizi, Torakal, Basil Tahan Asam   The Profile of Tuberculosis Spondylitis patients (Pott's Disease) at Rumah Sakit Pusat Angkatan Darat Gatot Soebroto   Abstract Tuberculous spondylitis (TB) or Pott's disease is a spinal infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis due to extrapulmonary TB. This disease depends on various factors such as age, nutritional status, and comorbidities. This descriptive study was conducted to determine the profile of tuberculosis spondylitis patients at the Gatot Soebroto Central Army Hospital (RSPAD). Data obtained from medical records of 75 samples. This study showed that male gender (50.7%), age group 21-29 years (29.3%), and normal nutritional status (33.3%) were the groups most affected by tuberculosis spondylitis (TB). Most types of work were housewives (28.0%). A total of 69 patients (92%) had no history of smoking and all patients had no history of consuming alcohol. Only 1 TB spondylitis patient had positive acid-resistant bacilli (AFB). A total of 41 people (54.7%) TB spondylitis patients were diagnosed through Magnetic Resonance Imaging / Computerized Tomographic Scan (MRI / CT SCAN) with the most TB spondylitis lesions found in the thoracic. The ability of MRI to diagnose is better than PCR and BTA.   Key words: Nutritional Status, Thoracic, Acid Resistant Basil

This report concerns a clinical trial with gadolinium-DTPA (Gd-DTPA) as an intravenous contrast medium for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with disorders of the central nervous system. Fifty patients, 30 females and 20 males, were examined without and with Gd-DTPA. The contrast medium was well tolerated by all patients. The results of MRI scanning without and with Gd-DTPA and those obtained with computed tomography (CT) using intravenous contrast enhancement were compared. This investigation comprised mainly patients with intracranial tumors, multiple sclerosis, and nasopharyngeal tumors. The results may be summarized as follows: 1) MRI with Gd-DTPA (MRI+) gave better results than MRI without Gd as regards delineation of the lesion, blood vessels and edema in cerebral tumors, pituitary adenomas and acute forms of multiple sclerosis (MS). 2) MRI+ was better than CT in 32 of the 50 cases examined; with intracerebral tumors it was better in 15 out of 18 cases. 3) MRI+ was always better than CT in patients with MS. In 3 out of 7 cases MRI demonstrated the acute MS lesions. 4) MRI+ seemed to have advantages also in nasopharyngeal tumors as ascertained from this limited experience.

The performance of the multicoil shimming is much better than that of the spherical harmonic coils in many aspects. The diameters and locations of the multicoil are optimized for the B0 shimming of the third order spherical harmonic field. And then every independent coil is decomposed into two series coils to take full advantage of a limited number of shim current supplies. The performance is improved by 16.7% when quantified by the surface root mean square.

Introduction: Accurate and effective imaging to determine the stage of the primary tumour is crucial in deciding whether patients should be treated conservatively, or with surgical or radiochemotherapeutic treatment. There are still concerns about the staging accuracy of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners. Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 254 single-surgeon radical cystectomies on a population destined for potentially curative surgery (without evidence of metastatic disease) over 14 years. We compared the staging accuracy of 245 CT scans against 62 conventional T2-weighted MRI scans and compared them to the absolute gold standard, histological analysis using the TNM staging system. Results: Overall, when comparing all the scanner results from 1999 to 2016, the following was observed: • MRI initially appears to be better than CT in staging the primary tumour as either localised or locally advanced disease; and • CT is significantly better than MRI for nodal staging. However, when comparing the more recent results using 53 patients who had both CT and MRI prior to operation, from 2005 to 2016, we find CT improves to match MRI in both primary tumour staging and nodal staging with ‘fair’ kappa scores ( p = 0.84). Conclusions: We confirm that MRI is better at staging extravesical disease and CT better at staging localised disease. Regarding primary tumour accuracy, the volume of the tumour has an influence on its correct staging. Regarding nodal accuracy, the presence of extracapsular extension had no influence. Knowing these limitations of the two modalities should enable better counselling of patients, regardless of their subsequent treatment regimen.
