This paper describes a Multi-Criteria-Analysis (MCA)-based Decision Support System (DSS) developed for the management of incidents in maritime traffic. The developed DSS helps to organise a large quantity of information related to emergency management, spatial data and “live” data (radar data, weather forecasting data), to make it available to decision makers in a comprehensible and user-friendly way. Special care has been taken to model human Decision-Making (DM) processes during incident situations. Since the DM process is always multi-criterial, a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) method called Preference Ranking Organisation Method for Enrichment Evaluations (PROMETHEE) is used. However, a simplified variation of PROMETHEE II has been utilised to make results more understandable to non-expert users. The aim of this research is to incorporate effective DSS in human DM processes, thus reducing the possibility of making poor decisions. The concept of Web MCA-based DSS is presented as a case study: Web DSS developed for the east coast of the Adriatic Sea.

This article explores the ability of a decision support system (DSS) to improve the quality of decision making in extreme environment. This DSS is actually based on a networked information system. Academic literature commonly mentions models of fit to explore the relationship between technology and performance, reckoning users' evaluations as a relevant measurement technique for Information System (IS) success. Although effective contributions have been achieved in measurement and exploration of fit, there have been few attempts to investigate the triangulation of fit between “Task-DSS-Decision Maker” under stressful and uncertain circumstances. This article provides new insights regarding the advantages provided by networked IS for making relevant decisions. An original case study has been conducted. It is focused on a networked decision support system called Link 16 that is used during aerial missions. This case study shows that the system improves decision making on an individual basis. Our result suggest the importance of three main fit criteria – Compliance, Complementarity and Conformity – to measure DSS performance under extreme environment and display a preliminary decisional fit model.

The Precise Consistency Consensus Matrix (PCCM) is a decisional tool for AHP-Group Decision Making (AHP-GDM). Based on the initial pairwise comparison matrices of the individuals, the PCCM constructs a consensus matrix for the group using the concept of consistency. This paper presents a decision support system (PRIOR-PCCM) that facilitates the construction of the PCCM in the context of AHP-GDM, and the calculus of four indicators that allows comparison of the behaviour of group consensus matrices. PRIOR-PCCM incorporates the possibility of considering different weights for the decision makers and includes a module that permits the extension of the initial PCCM which can achieve the minimum number of non-null entries required for deriving priorities or establishing a complete PCCM matrix. It also includes two cardinal indicators for measuring consistency and compatibility and two ordinal indicators for evaluating the number of violations of consistency and priority. The paper introduces some new visualisation tools that improve comprehension of the process followed for obtaining the PCCM matrix and allow the cognitive exploitation of the results. These original contributions are illustrated with a case study.

Since the use of computers in business world, data collection has become one of the most important issues due to the available knowledge in the data; such data has been stored in database. Database system was developed which led to the evolvement of hierarchical and relational database followed by Standard Query Language (SQL). As data size increases, the need for more control and information retrieval increase. These increases lead to the development of data mining systems and data warehouses. This paper focuses on the use of data warehouse as a supporting tool in decision making. We to study the effectiveness of data warehouse techniques in the sense of time and flexibility in our case study (Manpower Employment). The study will conclude with a comparison of traditional relational database and the use of data warehouse. The fundamental role of data warehouse is to provide data for supporting decision-making process. Data in data warehouse environment is multidimensional data store. We can simply say that data warehouse is a process not a product, for assembling and managing data from various sources for the purpose of gaining a single detailed view of part or all an establishment. The data warehouse concept has changed the nature of decision support system, by adding new benefits for improving and expanding the scope, accuracy, and accessibility of data. The warehouse is the link between the application and raw data, which is scattered in separate database but now is unified. The objectives of this work are to study the impact of using data warehouse on Manpower Employment Decision Support System, in the sense as far as the data quality concern. We will focus on the benefits gained from using data warehouse, and why it is more powerful than the use of traditional databases in decision making. The case study will be the Libyan national manpower employment agency. The data warehouse will collect database scattered from different sources in Libya in order to compare the performance and time.

Abstract. Major tsunami disasters often cause great damage in the first few hours following an earthquake. The possible severity of such events requires preparations to prevent tsunami disasters or mitigate them. This paper is an attempt to develop a decision support system for rapid tsunami evacuation for local decision makers. Based on the numerical results database of tsunami disasters, this system can quickly obtain the tsunami inundation and travel time. Because numerical models are calculated in advance, this system can reduce decision-making time. Population distribution, as a vulnerability factor, was analyzed to identify areas of high risk for tsunami disasters. Combined with spatial data, this system can comprehensively analyze the dynamic and static evacuation process and identify problems that negatively impact evacuation, thus supporting the decision-making for tsunami evacuation in high-risk areas. When an earthquake and tsunami occur, this system can rapidly obtain the tsunami inundation and travel time and provide information to assist with tsunami evacuation operations.

The aim of a decision support system (DSS) is to enhance the course of decision-making by furnishing a decision episode and support during the decision-making and enforcing procedure. Inspired by management information systems, the DSS assists policy makers to reach a decision by man-machine interaction through data, models and knowledge. Knowledge fusion is an effective means of enhancing the efficiency of a DSS. Thus, this paper presents a three-layer, six-step knowledge fusion pattern from the perspective of interaction and the three procedures used to arrive at a decision. For better understanding, an evaluation of the knowledge state with knowledge objects in the fusion pattern is also presented. Furthermore, we briefly examine a case study of a Fire Rescue DSS(FRDSS).

All colleges each year organize the selection of new admissions. Acceptance of prospective students in universities as education providers is done by selecting prospective students based on achievement in school and college entrance selection. To select the best student candidates based on predetermined criteria, then use Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) or commonly called decision support system. One method in MCDM is the Elimination Et Choix Traduisant la Reality (ELECTRE). The ELECTRE method is the best method of action selection. The ELECTRE method to obtain the best alternative by eliminating alternative that do not fit the criteria and can be applied to the decision SNMPTN invitation path.

The head of the environment is an extension of the head of the village head in assisting or providing services to the community both in the administration of administration in the village and to other problems. It is natural for a kepling to be appreciated for their performance during their special tenure in the kecamatan field area. Previously, the selection of a dipling in a sub-district was very inefficient and seemed unfair for this exemplary selection to use a system to produce an accurate value, and no intentional element. To overcome the process of selecting an exemplary kepling that experiences these obstacles by using an application called a Decision Support System. Decision Support System (SPK) is a system that can solve a problem, and this system is also assisted with several methods, namely the Rank Order Centroid (ROC) method that can assign weight values to each of the criteria based on their priority level. And to do the ranking or determine an exemplary set using the Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS) method, this method provides decision making that takes decisions based on ranking or the highest value.Keywords: Head of Medan Area Subdistrict, SPK, Centroid Rank Order, Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS).

The teacher is a major milestone in the world of education, the ability and achievement of students cannot be separated from the role of a teacher in teaching and guiding students. Based on the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers, in Article 1 explained that teachers are professional educators with the main task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, evaluating, and evaluating students in early childhood education through formal education, basic education and education medium. Whereas in Article 4 of the Act, it is explained that the position of teachers as professionals serves to enhance the dignity and role of teachers as learning agents to function to improve the quality of national education.Decision making is an election process, among various alternatives that aim to meet one or several targets. The decision-making system has 4 phases, namely intelligence, design, choice and implementation. These phases are the basis for decision making, which ends with a recommendation.The Preferences Selection Index (PSI) method is a rarely used decision support system method. This method is a method developed by stevanie and Bhatt (2010) to solve the Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). With the right consideration, this method can be one of the tools to determine policies in decision-making systems, especially the selection of outstanding teachers.
