To enhance the degradation efficiency as purpose, the Gd2O3 and La2O3 were doped in the lead dioxide electrode by the thermal decomposition and electro-deposition technique for the treatment of simulated wastewater containing cationic red X-GRL (X-GRL). The optimized molar ratio of Pb:Gd:La of 200mol:3mol:1mol, and the optimal degradation conditions of current density 50 mA/cm2, 0.1 mol/L Na2SO4, initial quality concentration of X-GRL 100 mg/L, after 2 h degradation, the X-GRL and TOC removal of reached 97.81% and 51.28%, respectively. The efficiency of combustion (ηc) of rare earth co-doped electrode was increased by 0.257 than that of un-doped electrode.

In this work, impedance spectroscopy technique was used in order to investigate the electric properties of double perovskites of the Y2NiMnO6 ceramics, which were prepared by thermal decomposition technique at 800°C for 6 hours and then sintered at a high temperature of 1400°C for 6, 12, 18, and 24 hours. Consequently, the electric characterization of the Y2NiMnO6 ceramics was performed at 30°C °C in the frequency range from 102 Hz to 108 Hz. The results in the Rg with 10,000, 9,990, 6,400, and 1,700 (Ω) at sintering time, respectively. Dispersion was observed in the variation of impedance values with frequency. Possible reason for all the above observation was discussed.

The nanocrystalline ZnO powders were synthesized by a direct thermal decomposition using zinc nitrate hexahydrate as starting materials. The precursor was characterized by TG-DTA to determine the thermal decomposition and crystallization temperature which was found to be at 325 oC. The precursors were calcined at different temperatures of 400, 500, and 600°C for 4 h. The structure of the prepared samples was studied by XRD, confirming the formation of wurtzite structure. The synthesized powders exhibited the UV absorption below 400 nm (3.10 eV) with a well defined absorption peak at around 285 nm (4.35 eV). The estimated direct bandgaps were obtained to be 3.19, 3.16, and 3.14 eV for the ZnO samples thermally decomposed at 400, 500, and 600°C, respectively.
