Photocatalytic technology is widely used in water purification because of its environmental protection, high efficiency and energy saving. Therefore, it is extremely important for the selection and preparation of specific semiconductor materials used in the field of photocatalysis. In this work, 1T@2H MoS2 nanosheets were fabricated by simple hydrothermal method, and the photocatalytic property of as-prepared 1T@2H MoS2 were investigated by the photo-degradation of methylene blue (MB) water solutions under visible light irradiation via 2H MoS2.The results indicated that compared to 2H MoS2, the 1T@2H MoS2 exhibited more excellent photocatalytic degradation property. After 150 minutes of irradiation under visible light, 1T@2H MoS2 had a removal rate of 98% for MB, and 2H MoS2 eventually reached 19%. The enhancement photocatalytic property of 1T@2H MoS2 could be attributed to the reduced band gap energy of the hybrid-nanosheets and the increased in electron migration speed.

A convenient, efficient and practical visible-light-induced decarboxylative iodination of aromatic carboxylic acids has been developed, and the corresponding aryl iodides were obtained in good yields. The method shows some advantages including the use of readily available aromatic carboxylic acids as the starting materials, simple and mild conditions, high efficiency, wide substrate scope and tolerance of various functional groups.

A new visible-light-induced Ir(III)-catalyzed difluoroalkylation–bicyclization of 1,7-enynes with ethyl 2-bromo-2,2-difluoroacetate (BrCF2CO2Et) is described, furnishing a wide range of difluoromethyl-containing benzo[a]fluoren-5-ones in good to excellent yields. The reaction is operationally simple, proceeds with high efficiency under mild conditions, and shows excellent functional group compatibility.

The use of TiO2 as photocatalyst to degrade the organic compounds is an effective method of oxidation process and has been widely studied in environmental engineering. However, TiO2 absorbed the UV light which is only small part of sunlight reaching earth surface to activate photocatalytic procedure is a major disadvantage. Therefore, studies on the development of new TiO2 that its photocatalytic activity can be activated by visible light which is the major part of sunlight will be valuable for field application. In this study, we evaluate the photocatalytic degrading efficiency of porphyrins/TiO2 complexes on the organic pollutants under irradiation with visible light (λ= 419 nm). The results showed that the photodecomposition efficiency of methylene blue were up to 95% and 90% respectively after using NiTPP/TiO2 and ZnTPP/TiO2 irradiated with visible light for 6 h. These evidences reveal that the system of porphyrin/TiO2 complexes has significantly high efficiency of photocatalytic degradation under visible light irradiation.
