The purpose of this research is to reach good correlation between sun load simulation and solar focusing test for exterior automotive lighting products. Light coming from sun is highly collimated (parallel rays) and focusable from lenses with concave structure. Focusing incidence leads to a hot spot on lens surrounding plastic parts which may cause melting failures at high temperature zones. Sun load simulation is performing to eliminate risk of discoloration, deformation, out gassing, coating failures and fire with prolonged exposure from field. Irradiance values in W/m2 defined in simulation as heat source depending of an angle of incidence of the sun radiation. At first step, simulation is performing with 5 degree intervals to define the critical zones then intervals decreased to 2 degree to detect the critical azimuth and inclination angles. Critical azimuth and inclination angles is checking with ray trace analysis to check the bouncing of sun rays and possible solution to eliminate focuses with design solutions. After numerical analysis to release and validate the automotive lighting products regarding the sun load test, measurement with first parts is necessary. Measurement is performing for all critical angles which have been detected at simulation with thermal camera under ultra high-collimation solar simulator. Measured temperatures are settled according to environment conditions and correlation is checking with simulations.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to reveal the temperature rise characteristics of the disc and pads under different load types. Design/methodology/approach – Evolutions of the disc and pads temperature under a stable, gradual changing and sine-wave contact pressures widely used at present are analyzed numerically by using ANSYS software. Findings – The results show that during the loading process, the temperature increases most rapidly under a stable contact pressure, most slowly under a gradual changing contact pressure; the disc temperature rise curves expose saw-shaped character, the closer it is to the friction surface, the more serious the fluctuations will be, the pads temperature rise curves are rather smooth; temperature gradient in the axial direction is higher than that in the other two directions under all of the three types of contact pressure and shows a sine-wave variation under a sine-wave contact pressure. Originality/value – It indicates that a gradual changing contact pressure should be adopted preferentially in practical application. The simulation results of this work provide theoretical basis for load simulation.

This project aims to study the optimal control model of the ice-storage system which is theoretically close to the optimal control and also applicable to actual engineering. Using Energy Plus, the energy consumption simulation software, and the simple solution method of optimal control, researchers can analyze and compare the annual operation costs of the ice-storage air-conditioning system of a project in Beijing under different control strategies. Researchers obtained the power rates of the air-conditioning system in the office building under the conditions of chiller-priority and optimal contro1 throughout the cooling season. Through analysis and comparison, they find that after the implementation of optimal control, the annually saved power bills mainly result from non-design conditions, especially in the transitional seasons.

For the simulation of wind turbine, the wind speed is extremely important parameters and indicators to measure the output power of the unit is the wind load. Therefore, in the airflow dynamics and simulation of wind loads before establishing an accurate wind speed model is crucial. At present, the application for wind turbines COMSOL fan, fan blades and wind load simulation field, the extremely important wind speed model is not perfect, most of the research is confined to a single constant wind speed, wind speed virtually ignored the magnitude and direction of change, on changes over time and space at the same time is one of the few studies of wind, so find a way to accurately describe the range of wind speeds, and can be combined well with COMSOL method can greatly improve the aerodynamic performance of wind turbines the overall level of .

One difficulty in the design of the load bearing components of mobile machines is the transient and non-linear nature of the loads acting on them. A common method for tracking these loads is to use strain gauges and force transducers on a physical test machine. An alternative method for determining the transient loads by means of a mathematical model that intends to describe the response of a John Deere 1010E forwarder as it crosses a test track is utilized in this study. The model is based on finite element method and it is solved using explicit time integration and LS-DYNA® software. As a result of this study a model capable of replicating the real world with a reasonable accuracy was obtained. The forces acting on tires, which can be considered the most important results of this work, can be used as boundary conditions in consequent analyses, such as fatigue simulation.
