Abstract Purpose of Review Cardiac fibroblast activation contributes to fibrosis, maladaptive remodeling and heart failure progression. This review summarizes the latest findings on cardiac fibroblast activation dynamics derived from single-cell transcriptomic analyses and discusses how this information may aid the development of new multispecific medicines. Recent Findings Advances in single-cell gene expression technologies have led to the discovery of distinct fibroblast subsets, some of which are more prevalent in diseased tissue and exhibit temporal changes in response to injury. In parallel to the rapid development of single-cell platforms, the advent of multispecific therapeutics is beginning to transform the biopharmaceutical landscape, paving the way for the selective targeting of diseased fibroblast subpopulations. Summary Insights gained from single-cell technologies reveal critical cardiac fibroblast subsets that play a pathogenic role in the progression of heart failure. Combined with the development of multispecific therapeutic agents that have enabled access to previously “undruggable” targets, we are entering a new era of precision medicine.

 Against the backdrop of growing national strength and rapid economic development, the government has placed more emphasis on education. In recent years, remarkable achievements have been registered in terms of education in China, which lays a solid foundation for cultivating comprehensive professionally-trained personnel in the new era. However, the current education system is ridden with many setbacks and problems. This paper conducts an analysis of the specific conditions of education both at home and abroad, status quo of education in China, makes some reflections on the direction and measures of China's education reform based on the practical reality of education in China. Measures should be taken to inject personalities into the traditional, exam-oriented education system, which keeps pace with the new era. As is known to all, it's important to strike a balance between public education and non-government funded education in a scientific and reasonable manner. The overhauling of traditional education policies will pave the way for China's educational renaissance and realize the great blueprint of the Chinese dream.

In an attempt to curb-out black money, money laundering, and to have a sound economy, the central government of India has embarked on the cashless economy. It is the birth of a new era in the nation with life with digital money. This paper is going to conceptualize the meaning of a cashless system, explains online banking techniques in India, schemes by government to spread the cashless system in India and highlights the challenges of the cashless economy and electronic payment systems. The objective of this study is to examine the significant challenges that are faced by Indians on the way towards cashless. To achieve the objectives of this exploratory type of personal study, interviews will be conducted.

Obesity is a worldwide pandemic, which can be fatal for the most extremely affected individuals. Lifestyle interventions such as diet and exercise are largely ineffective and current anti-obesity medications offer little in the way of significant or sustained weight loss. Bariatric surgery is effective, but largely restricted to only a small subset of extremely obese patients. While the hormonal factors mediating sustained weight loss and remission of diabetes by bariatric surgery remain elusive, a new class of polypharmacological drugs shows potential to shrink the gap in efficacy between a surgery and pharmacology. In essence, this new class of drugs combines the beneficial effects of several independent hormones into a single entity, thereby combining their metabolic efficacy to improve systems metabolism. Such unimolecular drugs include single molecules with agonism at the receptors for glucagon, glucagon-like peptide 1 and the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide. In preclinical studies, these specially tailored multiagonists outperform both their mono-agonist components and current best in class anti-obesity medications. While clinical trials and vigorous safety analyses are ongoing, these drugs are poised to have a transformative effect in anti-obesity therapy and might hopefully lead the way to a new era in weight-loss pharmacology.

This final chapter returns to Ford, Dagenham to analyse the second strike that was organised by female sewing-machinists for skill recognition in the winter of 1984-1985. Whilst the 1968 strike analysed in chapter 2 was optimistically hailed as a turning point symbolising a new era of gender equality, the sewing-machinists were dissatisfied because the skilled nature of their work was not recognised. For the women at Ford, the underlying grading grievance and the sense of injustice that led to the 1968 dispute continued to shape their experiences of work and trade unionism for the next 17 years. This dispute marks an appropriate place to begin to draw some broader conclusions about women’s experiences of workplace activism between 1968 and 1985. The Ford sewing-machinists’ eventual success in winning their grading intimates a transition had occurred in the way women’s work was valued in the intervening 17 years between the strikes – at least within the Ford factory. Drawing upon contemporary representations of the dispute and interviews with women involved, this final chapter considers whether the women themselves believed the strike represented a change in attitudes towards female workers.

The rate of growth in the amount of information available in the World Wide Web has not been followed by similar advances in the way this information is organized and exploited. Web adaptation seeks to address this issue by transforming the topology of a Web site to help users in their browsing tasks. In this sense, Web usage mining techniques have been employed for years to study how the Web is used in order to make Web sites more user-friendly. The Semantic Web is an ambitious initiative aiming to transform the Web to a well-organized source of information. In particular, apart from the unstructured information of today’s Web, the Semantic Web will contain machine-processable metadata organized in ontologies. This will enhance the way we search the Web and can even allow for automatic reasoning on Web data with the use of software agents. Semantic Web adaptation brings traditional Web adaptation techniques into the new era of the Semantic Web. The idea is to enable the Semantic Web to be constantly aligned to the users’ preferences. In order to achieve this, Web usage mining and text mining methodologies are employed for the semi-automatic construction and evolution of Web ontologies. This usage-driven evolution of Web ontologies, in parallel with Web topologies evolution, can bring the Semantic Web closer to the users’ expectations.
