The Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) and Virgo Collaboration’s Observing Run 3 has demanded the development of widely-applicable tools for gravitational wave follow-up. These tools must address the main challenges of the multi-messenger era, namely covering large localisation regions and quickly identifying decaying transients. To address these challenges, we present a public web interface to assist astronomers in conducting galaxy-targeted follow-up of gravitational wave events by offering a fast and public list of targets post-gravitational wave trigger. After a gravitational wave trigger, the back-end galaxy retrieval algorithm identifies and scores galaxies based on the LIGO and Virgo computed probabilities and properties of the galaxies taken from the Galaxy List for the Advanced Detector Era V2 galaxy catalogue. Within minutes, the user can retrieve, download, and limit ranked galaxy lists from the web application. The algorithm and website have been tested on past gravitational wave events, and execution times have been analysed. The algorithm is being triggered automatically during Observing Run 3 and its features will be extended if needed. The web application was developed using the Python based Flask web framework.

AbstractThe year 2015 witnessed the first direct observations of a transient gravitational-wave (GW) signal from binary black hole mergers by the Advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (aLIGO) Collaboration with the Virgo Collaboration. The MAGIC two 17m diameter Cherenkov telescopes system joined since 2014 the vast collaboration of electromagnetic facilities for follow-up of gravitational wave alerts. During the 2015 LIGO-Virgo science run we set up the procedure for GW alerts follow-up and took data following the last GW alert. MAGIC results on the data analysis and prospects for the forthcoming run are presented.

This paper offers insights into evolving a decision support system (DSS) to aid primary care physicians and/or nurses in the post-surgical care of patients with Colorectal Cancer in a clinical setting. Presently, the oncologists in the cancer center, who are familiar with the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs), are primarily responsible for the provision of follow-up care to their patients on the basis of the CPGs; in contrast, the attending primary care physician and/or nurse assisting the oncologist may be unfamiliar with these guidelines. These caregivers would, therefore, either require hardcopies of the CPGs or can be aided via a DSS for them to be able to provide the appropriate follow-up care for the respective cancer patients. Clearly, the Colorectal Cancer follow-up CPGs have to be analyzed and the ontology representing the knowledge embedded in the guidelines designed prior to realizing such a DSS. The designed ontology is often coded into Web Ontology Language (OWL) as a standard ontology that can be accessed through the Web. The authors' research team designed and presented the semantic framework of the web application, using the designed ontology that combines the current Web technology with database storage to achieve a unified development of the DSS. The authors also designed a user-friendly interface of the Web application to provide medical practitioners the functionality of the CPGs and the flexibility to customize the desired follow-up care schedule. The resulting DSS provides the physicians with follow-up program for the Colorectal Cancer patients based on the CPGs. The system was built using the semantic framework for the follow-up program and queries on the system are executed through SPARQL query engine.

ABSTRACT We present a new strategy to optimize the electromagnetic follow-up of gravitational wave triggers. This method is based on the widely used galaxy targeting approach where we add the stellar mass of galaxies in order to prioritize the more massive galaxies. We cross-matched the Galaxy List for the Advanced Detector Era (GLADE) galaxy catalogue with the AllWISE catalogue up to 400 Mpc with an efficiency of ∼93 per cent, and derived stellar masses using a mass-to-light ratio using the WISE1 band luminosity. We developed a new grade to rank galaxies combining their 3D localization probability associated with the gravitational wave event with the new stellar mass information. The efficiency of this new approach is illustrated with the GW170817 event, which shows that its host galaxy, NGC 4993, is ranked at the first place using this new method. The catalogue, named MANGROVE, is publicly available and the ranking of galaxies is automatically provided through a dedicated website for each gravitational wave event.

The paper presents the results of creating a web application for the management of geological, geochemical and geotechniki data fields. The functionality of the web application includes the ability to enter, change and process the specified data, create three-dimensional geological models based on them, and perform visualization. To create a web application, we used the Django web framework with the GeoDjango extension, the GemPy and GemGIS libraries. The description of the initial data of four deposits of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the results of their systematization, is given.

As the web and computational technology carry on growing and huge data are yielded on the web, these technologies are turn into important for a statisticians' work. It is worthy that statistician always gain knowledge of new aspects of computation. A lack of computational reasoning skills gets it hard for statisticians to work in a team. If statistician do not take up this computations challenge more coherently, statistics will be marginalized and take away related at a time when its data science reputation grow up significantly. In addition, people rely on the information on web, for whatever their reason.Since web growth, several major transforms have evolved, from the most rudimentary concept until a new model of interaction between humans and machines. Simple interactivity denotes that users can enter data to the application on a web page, then click on button, and then appears a new web page with the results of the computations. This application has been known as web application with most are built with the utility of web frameworks which is a package of programming tasks that offering services through the Internet. Therefore, this paper gives short overview the importance of Flask web frameworks to assist the lack of computational skill of statistician over web application in the simplest possible way and how web framework is used to create a web page with application form, run the application to compute statistical calculation which has been deployed in local server, and produce a web page with the solutions

BACKGROUND A power tilt-in-space wheelchair meets many clinical purposes, including pressure management, increased postural control, and pain management. However, there is a significant gap between the use of tilt as recommended by clinicians and its actual usage. A Web-based electronic health (eHealth) intervention, including a goal setting, monitoring, reminder, and feedback system of the use of power tilt-in-space wheelchairs was developed. The intervention incorporates behavior change principles to promote optimal use of tilt and to improve clinical postprocurement follow-up. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to conduct a formative evaluation of the intervention prototype to pinpoint the functionalities needed by end users, namely, power wheelchair users and clinicians. METHODS On the basis of an evaluation framework for Web-based eHealth interventions, semistructured interviews were conducted with power wheelchair users and clinicians. A content analysis was performed with a mix of emerging and a priori concepts. RESULTS A total of 5 users of power tilt-in-space wheelchairs and 5 clinicians who had experience in the field of mobility aids aged 23 to 55 years were recruited. Participants found the Web interface and the physical components easy to use. They also appreciated the reminder feature that encourages the use of the tilt-in-space and the customization of performance goals. Participants requested improvements to the visual design and learnability of the Web interface, the customization of reminders, feedback about specific tilt parameters, and the bidirectionality of the interaction between the user and the clinician. They thought the current version of the intervention prototype could promote optimal use of the tilt and improve clinical postprocurement follow-up. CONCLUSIONS On the basis of the needs identified by power wheelchair users and clinicians regarding the prototype of a power tilt-in-space wheelchair monitoring system, 3 main directions were defined for future development of the intervention. Further research with new wheelchair users, manual tilt-in-space wheelchairs, various age groups, and family caregivers is recommended to continue the formative evaluation of the prototype.

AbstractMotivationCuration is essential for any data platform to maintain the quality of the data it provides. Existing databases, which require maintenance, and the amount of newly published information that needs to be surveyed, are growing rapidly. More efficient curation is often vital to keep up with this growth, requiring modern curation tools. However, curation interfaces are often complex and difficult to further develop. Furthermore, opportunities for experimentation with curation workflows may be lost due to a lack of development resources, or a reluctance to change sensitive production systems.ResultsWe propose a decoupled, modular and scriptable architecture to build curation tools on top of existing platforms. Instead of modifying the existing infrastructure, our architecture treats the existing platform as a black box and relies only on its public APIs and web application. As a decoupled program, the tool’s architecture gives more freedom to developers and curators. This added flexibility allows for quickly prototyping new curation workflows as well as adding all kinds of analysis around the data platform. The tool can also streamline and enhance the curator’s interaction with the web interface of the platform. We have implemented this design in cmd-iaso, a command-line curation tool for the identifiers.org registry.AvailabilityThe cmd-iaso curation tool is implemented in Python 3.7+ and supports Linux, macOS and Windows. Synoptic searches for the optical counterpart to a binary neutron star (BNS) or neutron star-black hole (NSBH) merger can pose significant challenges towards the discovery of kilonovae and performing multi-messenger science. In this work, we describe the advantage of a global multi-telescope network towards this end, with a particular focus on the key and complementary role the Dark Energy Camera (DECam) plays in multi-facility follow-up. We describe the Global Relay of Observatories Watching Transients Happen (GROWTH) Target-of-Opportunity (ToO) Marshal, a common web application we built to ingest events, plan observations, search for transient candidates, and retrieve performance summary statistics for all of the telescopes in our network. Our infrastructure enabled us to conduct observations of two events during O3a, S190426c and S190510g. Furthermore, our analysis of deep DECam observations of S190814bv conducted by the DESGW team, and access to a variety of global follow-up facilities allowed us to place meaningful constraints on the parameters of the kilonova and the merging binary. We emphasize the importance of a global telescope network in conjunction with a power telescope like DECam in performing searches for the counterparts to gravitational-wave sources.

Robotic telescopes and networks are well equipped to respond rapidly to transient events. However, the era of multi-messenger astronomy presents new challenges in the search for electromagnetic counterparts to gravitational wave events. Specifically, these sources can be distant, faint, poorly localised, and quickly decaying. Effciently searching for counterparts requires coverage of large localisation regions and/or targeted observations. This paper presents a galaxy retrieval and ranking algorithm for targeted observations, and a public web interface to retrieve ranked galaxy lists following a gravitational wave event. The website is publicly available at https://gwtool.watchertelescope.ie/.
