Health is a universal right for all mankind, including those living in Indonesia’s Frontier, Outermost, and Least Developed areas also known as 3T Regions. Ilngei and Kabiarat Villages, which were the locations of our community study, are one of the villages belong to such regions of Western Southeast Maluku Regency—or Tanimbar Islands. In addition to difficulty of achieving equitable health workers and facilities distribution, indigenous people have also been found to live some unhealthy lifestyles including routine consumption of local made alcohol beverages known as sopi and smoking habits. This situation could be a risk factor for non-communicable diseases (NCD) such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus (DM), and high blood cholesterol. Therefore, our KKN-PPM UGM team conducted a community service activity in form of a free health check-up. This activity was aimed to screen health conditions particularly exploring NCDs risk factors, increase public awareness of health, and provide a reference for further health interventions and researches in this area. This research is an observational descriptive study, with primary data obtained during health check-up. The health check-up was carried out separately in two villages respectively on January 18th and 25th, 2020. Participants were recruited with purposive sampling, through invitation determined by the team. We used a digital blood pressure monitor to measure blood pressure and automatic skin-prick test device to measure capillary random blood sugar and total cholesterol level. Out of 102 participants, those classified as pre-hypertension were 33 people (32.35%), stage I hypertension were 22 people (21.56%), stage II hypertension were 32 people (31.37%), uncertain DM were 55 people (57.89%), DM were 4 people (4.21%), borderline high total cholesterol level were 13 people (20.31%), and high total cholesterol level was 1 person (1.56%). Overall, the majority of participants had blood pressure and blood sugar level above the normal range. This kind of activity should be made on a regular basis to reach more number of participants and more detail information regarding NCDs risk factors.

Background: Obesity is one of the most epidemiological burden which is being a dangerous threat for global health. It also contributes for leading cause of hypercholesterolemia. Prevalence of stroke, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, and hypertension in Indonesia has reached out 23.7% in 2007. Rejosari sub-village, Kemadang village, Tanjungsari sub-district locate in coastal area which is fisher taking mostly part of the citizen's occupation. Hence they have tendency to intake sea products such as shrimps, squids, crabs, anchovies, and  bivalves that contain amino acid required to growth and cell recovery nevertheless it also has much cholesterol contained which cause of total cholesterol level rising. The aims of this study to determine risk factors of hypercholesterolemia on obese pre-eldery population in Rejosari sub-village, Kemadang village, Tanjungsari sub-district, Gunung Kidul district, Yogyakarta. Method: This was an analytic observational study with cross sectional that conducted on February 2015 on obese pre-eldery population in Rejosari sub-village, Kemadang village, Tanjungsari sub-district, Gunung Kidul district, Yogyakarta. Data collected such age, sex, blood pressure, seafood intake frequencies, and total cholesterol. Data were analyzed by STATA version 12 software for windows with spearman correlation statistical test. Result: This study findings that 30 pre-elderly people came as respondents. Data  performed the average value of age was 49 years old, systolic blood pressure was 142 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure was 87 mmHg, seafood intake frequencies was 3 times per week, and total cholesterol level was 241 mg/dl. Spearman correlation shown age (p value=0.0477), systolic blood pressure (p value=0.0012), diasolic blood pressure (p value= 0.0435) and seafood intake frequencies (p value= 0.0018) have stattistical correlation with hypercholesterolemia. Conclusion:Age, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and seafood intake frequencies are correlated with total cholesterol raising within blood.

One of the effects of coffee consumption that still questionable is the increase of total cholesterol levels. The content of cafestol in coffee beans could be expected to block the process of β-oxidation of cholesterol that increases cholesterol levels in the blood. This study aimed to describe the normal total cholesterol levels and high total cholesterol levels in coffee addicts in the working area of Puskesmas Poasia, Subdistrict of Poasia. The research sample amounted 38 people taken by purposive sampling. The results showed that the total cholesterol levels test in coffee addicts obtained as many as 14 people (36.84%) with normal total cholesterol levels and as many as 24 people (63.16%) had a high total cholesterol level, but from 24 people of the coffee addicts, there are 4 of them in young age and allowed the possibility of an increase in cholesterol levels become faster due to genetic, lifestyle and unhealthy diet. It concluded that of the 38 people of coffee addicts who tested the cholesterol levels, the number of coffee addicts with high total cholesterol levels more than coffee addicts with normal total cholesterol levels. Therefore, it suggested people to reduce consumption of coffee, especially those for coffee addicts.

Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure above 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure above 90 mmHg. The number of hypertension sufferers has increased each year, in 2015 it reached 19,552, in 2016 it reached 24,750 and in 2017 it reached 38,057. In 2017 there were 115 hypertensive patients recorded in the report book that checked their health at the Sadananya Health Center. One of the causes of the high incidence of hypertension is cholesterol caused by the consumption of inappropriate food. One of the laboratory examinations to support hypertension diagnosis is blood cholesterol examination which can show excess cholesterol which makes hypertension difficult to control. To know the description of total cholesterol levels in hypertensive patients at the Sadananya Health Center. Quantitative descriptive, the population in this study were people with hypertension at the Sadananya Health Center. Sampling with accidental sampling, as many as 30 respondents. The cholesterol examination method used is CHOD-PAP. The results showed that blood pressure in respondents all had high blood pressure, namely >140/90 mmHg (100%), a high cholesterol level of 24 respondents (80%), blood pressure 140-150 who had high cholesterol as many 13 respondents, blood pressure 160-170 who had high cholesterol as much 6 respondents, blood pressure >180 who had high cholesterol as much 5 respondents. This study concludes that hypertensive clients have more high total cholesterol levels, which is as much as 80% and normal 20%. More hypertensive patients have high total cholesterol levels, which are 80% and 20% normal.

Health is an aspect that could be viewed from various age groups and factors. Risk factors found during Community and Family Health Care-Inter Professional Education visits in Pondok 2, Widodomartani, Ngemplak are the habits of people who still lacking in controlling excessive consumption of sugar, salt, and oily foods. These may lead to  many problems such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus and hypercholesterolemia. Based on the problem, our group held the community service activities focusing on health screening, particularly on the measurement of blood pressure, random blood glucose, and total cholesterol level.  This activity aims  to screen the community health condition and to raise health awareness and understanding. Therefore, people may start to take action improving their lifestyle in order to maintain their long term health status. This research is a retrospective study using secondary data obtained from health examination records at the time of community service. The health check-up was conducted on May 4, 2019. We utilize mannual mercury sphygmomanometer for blood pressure measurement and automatic skin prick test device for random blood glucose and total cholesterol level. During the health examination, we also counsel the subjects about healthy lifestyle. Sixteen people from the targeted community attended the activity. Half of the people had normal blood pressure;  1 person pre-hypertension; 4 persons stage I hypertension, and 3 persons stage II hypertension.  For random blood glucose measurement, only 1 resulted in high random blood glucose whilst others were within normal limit.  Total cholesterol level was examined to 9 people with history of hypercholesterolemia with the following results; 2 people had high level, 2 people had borderline-high level ,and the rest had normal level. Most of the people within the community had good health status. This kind of activity can be routinely conducted not only to screen community health status but also to promote health awareness.
