High-rise buildings are unique construction objects, in the design and construction of which special rules and regulations apply. The purpose of the work is, through an analysis of the literature and technical documentation, to present the main features of the construction of high-rise buildings. Based on the results of the study, differences in the concept of "high-rise building" in different countries were identified, specific problems encountered in high-rise construction were described, and design features of high-rise buildings were described. Special attention is paid to additional difficulties arising in the construction of high-rise buildings, due to the specificity of loads, construction technology, operation of high-rise buildings, and other reasons.

With the speeding up of urbanization and increasing of urban population, the urban land resources are increasingly scarce. Emergence of ultra high-rise building is an inevitable trend. At present, our construction industry is in the rapid development period, where the proportion of ultra high-rise buildings in urban architecture of many big cities constantly increases. The improving ultra high-rise engineering technology is an important part of the construction industry in our country. This paper will analyze the ultra high-rise construction technology of building work in detail.

Mass concrete is widely being used in the construction field, especially for the foundation of super high-rise building. In the initial stage of pouring completion of mass concrete, lots of heat generated from the cement hydration will lead to a high temperature inside of concrete. When the temperature difference between the inner and outer of concrete exceeds the limited value, thermal stress will be greater than the tensile strength of concrete, which may cause hazardous penetrating cracks of the structure. To ensure the safety and durability of concrete structure, necessary measures should be taken to control the temperature rise and construction quality of concrete. Taking a super high-rise building project as an example, this paper introduces several effective solutions to resolve above problems. The technical measures such as enhancing the concrete quality, controlling temperature rise, strengthening temperature monitoring would be detailed illustrated. Meanwhile, valuable suggestions achieved from this practical project are proposed in order to guide the structural design and on-site construction of similar projects.

The history of design and construction of high-rise buildings in Moscow in the 1940s-1950s is a real Pandora's box for art historians and for the general public. Despite the fact that the ensemble of high-rise buildings forms the face of Moscow for more than half a century, answers to many questions about the history of their creation have not yet been found. For example, there is still no exact list of names of those who worked on the sculptural and decorative design of high-rise buildings. An interview with the sculptor N.B. Nikoghosyan, one of the authors of the plastic decoration of the high-rise building on Kudrinskaya Square, sheds light on the process of designing and decorating the Moscow high-rise buildings ensemble.
