Blueberry leaf as materials, ethanol ultrasonic assisted extraction of blueberry polyphenols, ethanol concentration and solid-liquid ratio on blueberry ultrasonic time leaves influence the yield of polyphenols were researched, and the orthogonal experiment to optimize the ethanol ultrasonic assisted extraction technological conditions of blueberry leaf polyphenol polyphenols was used. The results showed that the optimal extraction conditions of polyphenols from blueberry leaves were as follows, 9.06% with 4min ultrasonic time, 80% ethanol concentration and 1:45 (g/mL) ratio. Ultrasonic assisted extraction is a convenient and high yield method, which is suitable for the extraction of polyphenols from blueberry leaves.

Ultrasonic-Assisted extraction (UAE) was applied for saponins extraction from Ophiopholis mirabilis and response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the extraction technology. A first set of experiments were designed to optimize water bath temperature, ethanol concentration, the ratio of liquid to solid, ultrasonic time (min) and ultrasonic power (W) as the main variables affecting the extraction effect. A Box-Behnken design consisting of 15 experimental runs was then applied and a second-order polynomial model was used to explain the interactions between the main factors and the yield of saponins. The developed mathematical model was found to fit well with the experimental data and the optimized conditions were ultrasonic pretreatment time 30.9 min, ethanol concentration 64%, liquid /solid ratio 35:1, ultrasonic power 300W and water bath 70°C. Corresponding saponins content was 0.574%.

The 90% acetone as extraction agent used in order to obtain the ultrasonic assisted extraction conditions of chlorophyll a. The ultrasonic power, ultrasonic time, centrifugation time and rotational speed as the four study factors and the chlorophyll a concentration as the target, here, the L9(34) orthogonal table of orthogonal experiment design are used in order to determine the optimum extraction contractions, basing on the single factor experiment. The experimental results shows the algae containing water can get better extraction effect, after ultrasonic 30 minutes in 225W and 6000r/min speed centrifugal 9 minutes and then mixing, repeat ultrasound centrifugation steps.

Extracting flavone from bamboo leaves by ultrasonic, the flavonoid extraction conditions was optimized by single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment design, and the traditional heat reflux method was compared. The results showed that: the optimum process conditions of ultrasonic wave extraction of flavonoids from bamboo leaves were ethanol concentration of 70%, solid to liquid ratio of 1:20, extracting 20 min in 60 °C. Under this condition, extraction content of total flavonoids was up to 4.538 mg.g-1. And ultrasonic assisted extraction was superior to hot reflux extraction.

Psoralea Fructus is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and the content of psoralen, isopsoralen, neobavaisoflavone, bavachin, psoralidin, isobavachalcone, and bavachinin A is the main quality control index of Psoralea Fructus because of its clinical effects. Thus, a fast and environmentally-benign extraction method of seven compounds in Psoralea Fructus is necessary. In this work, an ionic liquid-based ultrasonic-assisted method (ILUAE) for the extraction of seven compounds from Psoralea Fructus was proposed. Several ILs of different types and parameters, including the concentration of ILs, concentration of ethanol (EtOH), solid–liquid ratio, particle size, ultrasonic time, centrifugal speed, and ultrasonic power, were optimized by the Placket–Burman (PB) design and Box–Behnken response surface analysis. Under this optimal condition, the total extraction yield of the seven compounds in Psoralea Fructus was 18.90 mg/g, and significantly greater than the conventional 75% EtOH solvent extraction.

In this study, response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the ultrasonic-assisted extraction parameters of Sojae Semen Praeparatum polysaccharides (SSPP-80), the optimum conditions were determined as follows: ultrasonic frequency of 100 W, ultrasonic power of 80 Hz, ultrasonic temperature of 52℃, ultrasonic time of 23 minutes, and liquid to raw material ratio of 40 mL/g. Based on these conditions, polysaccharides extraction rate was 7.72% ± 0.26%. Then, 2 novel polysaccharides (SSPP-80‐1, SSPP-80‐2) were isolated from SSPP by DEAE-cellulose 52 chromatography. The chemical compositions, physicochemical properties, and structure of SSPPs were investigated by simultaneous thermal analyzer (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FI-IR), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The results showed that SSPP-80 and 2 fractions were mainly composed of mannose (Man), glucose (Glc), galactose (Gal), xylose (Xyl), and arabinose (Ara). In addition, the antioxidant activities were evaluated against the DPPH and hydroxyl radical in vitro, the IC50 of SSPP-80, SSPP-80‐1 and SSPP-80‐2 against DPPH free radical were 4.407, 8.267, and 5.204 mg/mL, respectively, whereas the IC50values for removing hydroxyl groups were 5.318, 3.516, and 4.016 mg/mL, respectively. It demonstrated that SSPP-80 and 2 fractions had certain antioxidant activity. Theoretical basis for use of Sojae Semen Praeparatum polysaccharides was provided by this study.

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs), a new group of ecofriendly solvent combined with the ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) technique, were first successfully used for extraction of resveratrol from peanut roots. Resveratrol in the extract was analyzed and quantified using a HPLC-UV method. A series of DESs consisting of choline chloride (ChCl) and 1,4-butanediol, citric acid, and ethylene glycol were formulated, finding ChCl/1,4-butanediol was a most proper extraction system. The optimal extraction parameters were obtained using a Box–Behnken design (BBD) test combined with response surface methodology as follows: 40% of water in ChCl/1,4-butanediol (1/3, g/g) at 55°C for 40 min and solid/liquid ratio of 1:30 g/mL. The total extraction content and extraction yield of resveratrol from peanut roots could reach 38.91 mg/kg and 88.19%, respectively, under such optimal conditions. The present study will provide a typical example for using DESs to extract natural bioactive compounds from plants.

Manual agitation on ultrasonic assisted extraction process, fractionation, isolation and purification afforded 4,8,12,16-tetramethylheptadecan-4-olide (1) along with 11 compounds 2-12 i.e., squalene (2), phytyl palmitate (3), lupeol (4), taraxasterol (5), myristic acid (6), palmitic acid (7), campesterol (8), stigmasterol (9), λ-sitosterol (10), stigmastan-3, 5-diene (11) and stigmasta-5,22-diene-3-ol acetate (12). Their structures were elucidated spectroscopically (2D NMR, IR, GC-MS and 1D NMR). The optimal conditions for high yield of extracts were obtained at 45 °C, after 35 min and solvent ratio 50:50 mL for 83.01 % yield; which was applied on agita-sonication process for bulk sample extraction of D. pinnata leaves with single solvent at a time. Thus, this work provides alternative method to overcome large sample extraction for phyto-constituents of isolation of 4,8,12,16-tetramethylheptadecan-4-olide (1) with ten other compounds from this specie pinnata and genius Deinbollia except stigmasterol (9).

Orthogonal experiment optimization of microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) conditions of total flavonoids from castor leaves with the factors of ethanol concentration, microwave power, extraction time, solid/liquid ratio on the yield of total flavonoids were studied. The results showed that optimum extracting conditions of total flavonoids from castor leaves were as follows: adding 1:50 g·mL-1 of 40% alcohol and extracting for 3 min,microwave irradiation power 464W. Microwave extraction of total flavonoids from castor leaves is fast, energy saving and high extraction rate.

This study was designed to comparative evaluate total flavonoid contents (TFC) in leaf, aerial root, twig, root and bark parts of Ficus microcarpa L.f. (Moraceace). Ultrasonic-assisted extraction was adopted using benign solvent: ethanol and water to determine the extraction efficiency under the condition of ethanol concentration 40%, solid/liquid ratio of 1:25, extraction time 35 min and extraction temperature at 60 °C. According to the experimental results, the TFC values varied considerably and the extraction yield of 2.67±0.02%, 3.70±0.043%, 2.99±0.04%, 6.56±0.83% and 4.26±0.18% were obtained from different parts, respectively. The root part was characterized as containing a high amount of flavonoids, which might be the active compounds responsible for the pharmaceutical properties of the plant. The study offers theoretic basis for further utilization of the traditional folk herb F. microcarpa.

Herbs with antioxidant properties are usually preserved and extracted before being converted into commercial products. The main focus of this study was to determine the effect of preservation of A. sessilis red as well as extraction method on its antioxidant properties. A. sessilis red was preserved using two different methods; freeze drying and superheated steam drying, followed by extraction with 70% ethanol using conventional extraction and ultrasonic-assisted extraction. Drying in the superheated steam oven displayed shorter drying period of 1 hour compared to freeze drying (several days). Combination of superheated steam drying and ultrasonic-assisted extraction showed the highest extraction yields (12.99%). Results showed that superheated steam drying and ultrasonic-assisted extraction displayed an increase in the total phenolic content. In terms of antioxidant capacity, A. sessilis extracts obtained from superheated steam drying has higher radical scavenging activity (72.39% - 76.70%) than those freeze-dried (60.68% - 65.33%). Meanwhile, ultrasonic-assisted extraction had negatively impacted the radical scavenging activity of the extracts due to the formation of free radicals that are related to acoustic cavitation. As for ferric reducing antioxidant power, both superheated steam drying and ultrasonic assisted extraction yielded extracts with greater capacity. Present result shows that the combination of superheated steam drying and ultrasonic-assisted extraction enhanced total phenolic content by 60% and improved antioxidant activity based on ferric reducing antioxidant power assay
