This study examines the influence of culture at the individual level on the adoption and use of electronic distance learning technologies by students of a technical university when teaching in sustainable development programs. Four cultural dimensions were investigated: individualism / collectivism, masculinity / femininity, power distance and uncertainty avoidance at the individual level. We also used the Technology acceptance model (TAM), which includes additional constructs. The results of the study demonstrated that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social norms, quality of work life, individualism, masculinity were important determinants of students' behavioral intentions to adopt e-learning technologies when teaching in sustainable development programs. The results obtained are considered both from a theoretical and a practical point of view, recommendations for improving electronic distance learning are proposed.

The objective of this study is to explore the impact of various cultural dimensions on the acceptance of E-commerce in the Palestinian context. The developed theoretical framework is a modified version of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), wherein the trust, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use act as mediators for the intention to use E-commerce. As such, five cultural dimensions were employed in the proposed model. These are; uncertainty avoidance, power distance, masculinity, collectivism, and long-term orientation. Data was collected from a non-probabilistic sample of 418 participants using a pre-tested and validated questionnaire. Findings demonstrate that the hypothesized model was able to explain 62% of the variability of the intention towards the use of E-commerce. In particular, they signify a strong correlation between acceptance of E-commerce and the domestic culture of consumers, where uncertainty avoidance and power distance are the most vital cultural dimensions influencing the decision to transact online.

The outbreak of COVID-19 at the beginning of 2020 has heavily influenced education all around the world. In Vietnam, educational institutes were suspended, and distance learning was conducted to ensure students’ learning process, with distance learning occurring mainly via video conferencing tools (VTCs). The purpose of this paper is to provide data on Vietnamese students’ acceptance of using VCTs in distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic through an extended technology acceptance model (TAM) and structural equation modeling (SEM) method. This study used the TAM of Venkatesh and Davis. The questionnaire was designed based on Venkatesh and Davis and Salloum et al.’s scale. An online survey with snowball sampling was selected in April. The final dataset consisted of 277 valid records. This data descriptor presented descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation), internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha), reliability and validity measures (composite reliability, average value extracted test), and factor loading of items of eight factors: output quality, computer playfulness, subjective norm, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards to use, behavioral intention to use, and actual system to use. Results indicated that external factors such as subjective norm and computer playfulness had a significant impact on most TAM constructs. Furthermore, output quality was found to have a positive influence on students’ perceived usefulness and acceptance of VCTs in distance learning.

This paper is dedicated to the higher education institutions shifting towards distance learning processes due to the global pandemic situation caused by COVID-19 in 2020. The paper covers the pandemic situation in Poland generally, analyzing governmental ordinances and tracking the gradual extension of restrictions for educational institutions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of Experience, Enjoyment, Computer Anxiety, and Self-Efficacy on students’ acceptance of shifting education to distance learning. The study tested and used the adapted General Extended Technology Acceptance Model for E-Learning (GETAMEL) in the context of coronavirus pandemic. The partial least squares method of structural equation modeling was employed to test the proposed research model. The study utilizes an online survey to obtain data from 1692 Polish undergraduate and graduate students in both full- and part-time study. The dataset was analyzed using SmartPLS 3 software. Results showed that the best predictor of student’s acceptance of shifting education to distance learning is Enjoyment, followed by Self-Efficacy. Both Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness predict student’s Attitude Towards Using and Intention to Use the distance learning. The findings improve understanding regarding the acceptance of distance learning and this work is therefore of particular interest to teachers and practitioners of education.

<p>M-learning is<strong> </strong>learning delivered via mobile devices and mobile technology. The research indicates that this medium of learning has potential to enhance formal as well as informal learning.  However, acceptance of m-learning greatly depends upon personal attitude of students towards this medium; therefore this study focuses only on the individual context in which role of student’s readiness towards m-learning is investigated using Technology acceptance model (TAM). TAM is the popular choice among the researchers for investigating acceptance of any new technology primarily because of its robust and parsimonious nature. The sample selected for this study consisted of students from the private sector universities in a developing country. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The final results of investigation were based on 244 valid responses. The results indicate that the students’ skills and psychological readiness strongly influence their perceived ease of use (PEU) and perceived usefulness (PU) of m-learning, whereas both these constructs positively influenced their behavioral intention to use m-learning. The findings of this study have theoretical as well as practical implications which are discussed at the end.</p>

In connection with the need for making instructional media applications by teachers in the distance learning process, PT. Bangun Satya Wacana (BSW) through the Diginusa department held training on the use of the Scratch visual programming application to create learning materials such as games, animations and interactive quizzes. Scratch is a graphical programming language using drag and drop command blocks. Besides that, Scratch can be used both online and offline, so it is very helpful for the distance learning process (DLP). This research aims to see how the level of acceptance of teachers to Scratch using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) method. The indicators measured are Self-Efficacy, Complexity, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Intention to Use and Actual Technology Use, then analyzed by linear regression method with the help of IBM SPSS software. From the results of the analysis carried out, it can be seen that the Intention to Use affects the Actual Technology Use. Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use together affect the Intention to Use. Perceived Ease of Use, Self-Efficacy and Complexity together have a significant effect on Perceived Usefulness.

Research: Due to the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 and the resulting pandemic situation, universities were forced to rapidly change their traditional pedagogical and didactical approach by shifting from mostly face-to-face teaching to entirely virtual and online teaching methods. Through this, a “forced” distance learning and teaching situation emerged. This study aimed at investigating the effect of these innovations on the implementation, acceptance, and use of the virtual teaching offer within the framework of the technology acceptance model (TAM).Methods: A total of 218 students and 69 lecturers of a German Medical Faculty completed online questionnaires on the acceptance, satisfaction, and usefulness of the forced distance learning (FDL) and teaching (FDT), respectively. An extended version of the TAM was used to assess the acceptance of the students and lecturers of FDL and FDT. In order to estimate the multivariate dependencies, path analysis was employed using structural equation modeling (SEM).Results: In general, students and lecturers reported being satisfied with the implementation of the FDL and FDT. Regarding the TAM model, the fit indices suggested an acceptable model fit for both groups. The model of the students revealed that the perceived usefulness had a strong predictive power on the attitude toward using and the perceived ease of use also predicted the attitude. The existing technical infrastructure as well as the general media affinity and pandemic-related worries proved to be positively associated with the perceived usefulness while data security worries and organization of online teaching predicted the perceived ease of use in students. The strong positive predictive power of the perceived usefulness for the attitude toward using was also evident in the model for the lecturers and the technical infrastructure predicted the perceived ease of use in the lecturers.Conclusion: The TAM is a suitable framework to represent the implementation, acceptance, and use of the virtual teaching offer during the special pandemic situation at the university. However, personal and structural context factors were important predictors for the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use in the student group. The forced situation for learning and teaching makes it more difficult to predict the actual use of virtual teaching offers solely based on attitude.

This study focuses on better development of green buildings. The key to the sustainable development of the construction industry is to popularize and promote the spread of green building technologies (GBTS) in the construction market. This study integrates the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the innovation diffusion theory (IDT) to analyze and construct the theoretical model of developers’ GBTS adoption behavior from three dimensions, including the individual factor, product factor and interface factor. This paper discusses the mechanism of GBTS adoption and diffusion in the construction market. The data are collected by questionnaire, and the structural equation model (SEM) is used for empirical analysis. The results show that the developers’ perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) of GBTS, developers’ innovativeness and sense of community at the individual level, competitive advantage at the product level, as well as government structural guarantees and relevant stakeholders at the interface level have a significant positive impact on the adoption of GBTS by developers. It is proved that the model can explain the basic path of GBTS adoption by developers, and suggestions to promote the adoption and diffusion of GBTS in China are put forward.
