This paper deals with the quality of service in IP Multimedia Subsystem networks. The evaluation of Quality o Service (QoS) is done through admission control methods. We analyse various methods, which are based on the traffic measurement. The approach that can be applied in finding the suitable admission control method while considering selected QoS parameters is described. Different important QoS parameters can be defined, however we decided to focus on the loss parameter. In our simulations we have used Simple Sum method. Based on the simulation results, we have used new algorithm. The main difference is that it uses the mechanism of time window for achieving more accurate traffic estimate. Algorithm Measured Sum with implementation of time window T has better ability to predict the traffic fluctuation. Compared to the Simple Sum algorithm it achieves lower link utilisation, but also lower level of loss ratio.

In this paper we present admission control methods for IMS network. The task of RACS block is to accept or reject new connection into the network. The main goal of the admission control method is to ensure the Quality of Service not only for new connection but also for already accepted connections. We discuss and compare three admission control algorithms in the paper from the qualitative parameters point of view.

Third-generation sequencing using nanopores as biosensors has recently emerged as a strategy capable to overcome next-generation sequencing drawbacks and pitfalls. Assessing the quality of the data produced by nanopore sequencing platforms is essential to decide how useful these may be in making biological discoveries. Here, we briefly contextualized NanoR, a quality control method for nanopore sequencing data we developed, in the scenario of preexistent similar tools. We also illustrated 2 quality control pipelines, readily applicable to nanopore sequencing data, respectively, based on NanoR and PyPore, a second quality control method published by our group.

Quality of service (QoS) is an important performance indicator for Web applications and bandwidth is a key factor affecting QoS. Current methods use network protocols or ports to schedule bandwidth, which require tedious manual configurations or modifications of the underlying network. Some applications use dynamic ports and the traditional port-based bandwidth control methods cannot deal with them. A new QoS control method based on local bandwidth scheduling is proposed, which can schedule bandwidth at application level in a user-transparent way and it does not require tedious manual configurations. Experimental results indicate that the new method can effectively improve the QoS for applications, and it can be easily integrated into current Web applications without the need to modify the underlying network.

There are currently various algorithms with mass spectrometry in phosphorylation identification. Some quality control methods have also been proposed. However, a detailed comparative analysis among various methods has not been reported. In the paper, based on the theory of forward-reverse databases searching, we compare current major algorithms in database searching and identification i.e Mascot and Sequest, and compare various aspects and methods of algorithms in site assessment. We propose an effictive quality control method. Our result shows that this method can ensure the quality of identification and identify more phosphorylation sites.

Analysis of low-sugar preserved Kiwifruit processing status and the key factors of quality control, based on the comparative study of different control methods, fuzzy control technique is applied to the quality control of low-sugar preserved Kiwifruit with using the embedded microcontroller processor to design the system controlling hardware, and the system software flowchart. The control studies of the end product quality of the low-sugar preserved Kiwifruit can provide the technical basis and process control method for low-sugar food-preserved fruit production process , so the corresponding products satisfy the people's low-sugar and low-calorie requirements.

The article tackles the problem of quality of service assurance in photonic networks. The idea of multi-servicephotonic network model with the coexistence of optical circuit and packet switching mechanisms and cell communication is used as a basis for service differentiation in the optical domain. Cell loss ratio as a key performance indicator determines the required optical switching mechanism. Service provisioning is performed using call admission control mechanism with real-time cell loss ratio estimation procedure. Service blocking probability calculation utilizes discrete event simulation of service provision and teardown requests applied to core network topology from COST 266 project. Three simulation scenarios are included in the analysis – pure optical packet switching network, and coexistence of optical packet and circuit switching with and without possibility of communication redirection between the switching mechanisms. Simulation scenarios are additionally altered with the cell loss ratio constraint and number of delay lines.

Telecommunications operators and research institutions pay close attention to the issue of quality of service. The paper deals with methods of admission control in IP networks, which is only one of the subsets of quality of service. There are two large groups of AC methods: parameter-based admission control and measurement-based admission control. The core of the paper is simulation of AC methods and algorithms for topology model in MATLAB. Our simulations are mainly focused on required bandwidth and loss rates. At the end of the paper there are compared results of simulations.

This study was conducted to determine the growth and flower quality of single-node cutting rose `Versillia' under two different irrigation control methods (time clock and integrated solar radiation). The frequency of irrigation was controlled by time clock and integrated solar radiation of 1.25 and 2.09 and 3.35 MJ·m-2 in aeroponics. Photosynthesis was the highest in the integrated solar radiation of 2.09 MJ·m-2 and 1.25 MJ·m-2 the lowest in the integrated solar radiation of 3.35 MJ·m-2. The growth of single-node cutting rose `Versillia' at 1.25 MJ·m-2 and 2.09 MJ·m-2 was better than 3.35 MJ·m-2 for stem length and fresh weight. Root activities of single-node cutting rose were significantly higher at 2.09 MJ·m-2 and 1.25 MJ·m-2 than those at 3.35 MJ·m-2. The irrigation control method using integrated solar radiation of 1.25-2.09 MJ·m-2 showed a improvement of plant growth and flower quality.

The article explores individual approaches used to measure and evaluate the quality of financial state-ments: standardized assessment, accrual-based models (accrual quality), Beneise models (M-Score), in-dexes - the internal control method and the degree of accounting conservatism. The reason for the great dependence on the use of indirect measures (proxies for the quality of financial statements or stock prices) is that some of the qualities of financial statements are unobservable.
