The aim of this study is to evaluate the self-efficacy perceptions and problem solving competencies of students of Health Sciences Faculty. The study included 150 students studying in 4th grade who completed the questionnaire completely. Self-efficacy-competence scale was used to evaluate students’ self-efficacy perceptions, and Problem Solving Inventory was used to evaluate problem solving proficiencies. The mean age of the students included in the study was 22.26 ± 1.27 years and 59.3% [n = 89] were female students. It was determined that the self-efficacy perception scores of the students were 82.30 ± 14.37 and the problem solving ability scores were 103.65 ± 19.31. There was a significant relationship between self-efficacy perception and problem solving ability [r = -0,328, p: 0.01]. According to the results, it was determined that the students had a low level of self-efficacy perception and problem solving competencies.

AbstractIntroductionAlmost all the bone mass in females is accumulated during adolescence and especially in the years immediately following menstruation. Self-efficacy plays an important role in moderating the relationship between knowledge and behavior. This study aimed to determine the self-efficacy of osteoporosis preventive behaviors and its predictors in female high school students.MethodologyThis descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study was conducted on 330 female high school students in Saveh, Iran during 2016–2017. A two-stage cluster sampling method was used to select the participants. Data were collected using a socio-demographic questionnaire, the Osteoporosis Knowledge Test (OKT) and the Osteoporosis Self-Efficacy Scale (OSES). A general linear model was used to determine the self-efficacy predictors of osteoporosis preventive behaviors.ResultsThe mean [standard deviation (SD)] of the total OKT score was 11.08 (4.08) of attainable range from 0 to 32. The mean (SD) of the total OSES score was 121.97 (37.36) of attainable range from 0 to 200. The mean (SD) of the exercise and calcium subscales of OSES were 58.39 (22.56) and 63.57 (21.02), respectively. There were significant relationships between the total OKT score with the total OSES score (r = 0.16, p = 0.003) and its subscales, including exercise (r = 0.16, p = 0.002) and calcium (r = 0.11, p = 0.03) scores. According to the adjusted general linear model, the variables of economic status, educational level and osteoporosis knowledge were predictors of the self-efficacy in the studied students.ConclusionFindings suggested that most of the students had moderate levels of knowledge and self-efficacy regarding osteoporosis preventive behaviors; therefore, improving the knowledge and self-efficacy of this group can play a significant role in promoting their health.

This chapter contributes to the existing evidence on the constructs of shared leadership, social, and emotional capitals to demonstrate their significant galvanizing effect on team and organizational performance through trust. This study aimed to ascertain how leadership self-efficacy might influence shared leadership team, trust, and performance in this IT Company. Managers with self-reported ratings for the self-efficacy attributes cluster of leadership demonstrate greater probability of improving both perceived and actual employee performance. The emerging results concur with the aforementioned premise because these appear to emphasize the leadership self-efficacy attributes cluster of problem solving. These results may have a positive impact on the team and organizational performance as a whole.

The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0-5 months in Indonesia in 2018 is only 37.3%. Self-efficacy is one of the main factors affecting the behavior of exclusive breastfeeding. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the self-efficacy of mothers for breastfeeding decreased, so increasing efforts are needed. Increasing knowledge can be done by providing online education based on family centered maternity care (FCMC). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of FCMC-based online education on the self-efficacy of postpartum mothers in exclusive breastfeeding. This type of research is pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design with a total sample of 10 postpartum mothers. Data were analyzed using paired t-test. The results showed that the mean self-efficacy before being given online education was 41 with a standard deviation of 4.37, the mean self-efficacy after being given peer education was 59.8 with a standard deviation of 3.4. There is a difference in the mean value before and after the online education intervention was given with p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05). There is an effect of FCMC-based online education on the self-efficacy of postpartum mothers in breastfeeding. Health servicesare expected to facilitate FCMC-based online education programs to increase self-confidence in breastfeeding.

The lack of self-directed learning of students shown by students is one problem associated with self-efficacy and the learning environment. The purpose of the research is to reveal the relationship between self-efficacy and the learning environment, and self-directed learning. This study uses the correlational method and data collected from a sample of 198 students, which were found using proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected using a self efficacy scale (24 valid items = 0.851), a learning environment scale (32 valid items = 0.830), and a self-directed learning scale (64 valid items = 0.936). Data were then analyzed using multiple regression. The results showed the correlation coefficient r = 0.535 and p = 0.00 (p> 0.05), which showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and the learning environment together with self-directed learning. So it can be explained that the higher the self-efficacy and learning environment, the higher the student's self-directed learning.

In this study, we sought to determine whether psychosocial development and self-efficacy of major changers differ from those classified as relatively stable. Participants completed the Life-Skills Inventory-College (Picklesimer, 1991) form to measure psychosocial development and the General Self-efficacy (Schwarzer & Jerusalem, 1995) scale to measure students' level of self-efficacy. Major changers reported a lower level of self-efficacy than relatively stable students, and relatively stable students scored higher on the self-perception measures of the Problem-Solving/Decision-Making subscale on the Life-Skills Development Inventory than did major changers.

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical anxiety with the problem solving ability of students of class VIII SMP in scientific based learning. This research is quantitative research. The instruments of this study were self-efficacy questionnaire, mathematical anxiety questionnaire and problem solving ability test questions. The results of this study are: (1) there is a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and problem solving ability with a regression coefficient value of 22.1% (2) there is a negative and significant relationship between mathematical anxiety towards problem solving ability with a coefficient of determination of 13 % (3) there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical anxiety with the ability to solve problems with a coefficient of determination of 22.4%.

Abstract Purpose One of the most important concepts in educational psychology is self-efficacy. Self-efficacy in the learning and research process can play an important role in the success of students. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the level of research self-efficacy in students and its correlation with academic performance. Methods In this correlation study, 210 Iranian students of health sciences participated. The self-efficacy in research measure (SERM) and grade point average (GPA) was used for data collection. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 18. Results Most of the students used internet and library resources for more than 3 hours and less than 1 hour per day, respectively. In addition, students mostly used the PubMed database. The mean research self-efficacy score among students was 183.12 ± 46.54 out of 297. There was a significant difference between the mean research self-efficacy score and age group (F = 2.103, P ≤ 0.01). Research self-efficacy had a significant correlation with academic performance (r = 0.648, P ≤ 0.01). Conclusion In this study, research self-efficacy of students was at a moderate level. Research self-efficacy showed associations with academic performance. In general, the findings suggest that research self-efficacy is very important in students’ educational-research performance. Therefore, educational and psychological interventions are necessary to enhance the research self-efficacy beliefs.

The aim of this study is to understand and identify the relationship of the LGU’s functions to the preservation of the consciousness of the citizens. It sought to answer the following questions, (1) the mean level of the LGU’s functions in the preservation of consciousness on the culture of the citizens, (1.1) education, (1.2) laws implementation, (1.3) cultural heritage; (2) the mean level of the citizens’ consciousness of their culture, (2.1) customs, (2.2) habits, (2.3) values, (3) the significant relationship between the LGU’s functions in the preservation of consciousness on the culture of the citizens. Descriptive method of research was used to analyze the data systematically. The researcher looked for the population of the Pagsanjan, Laguna. From the population, the researcher used purposive sampling were in the members of the population are selected based on the objective of the study. The researcher formulated the self-made questionnaire and made it validated by set of experts before it was distributed through MS Forms. The approval of the municipal mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna was also seeking by the respondents as courtesy for the implementation of the study. After the data collection, the researcher analyzed, presented and interpreted them. The best performed LGU’s function identified by the respondents to preserve the culture is laws implementation which rated 4.73 followed by education which rated 4.33, both are in a very high extend and lastly is the preservation of cultural heritage that rated 3.88 as high extent. The respondents are said to be most conscious in their culture in terms of both Habits and Values which rated 4.42 as very high while customs rated 4.07 as high. LGU’s functions in the preservation of the culture provide a ‘positive relationship’ to the citizens’ consciousness of their culture. The hypothesis which stated that there is no significant relationship between the LGU’s functions in the preservation of consciousness on the culture of its citizens is ‘not supported’.
