Students' ability to solve learning problems is influenced by the factors of learning motivation and self-confidence. Students who are able to solve problems in learning will be able to get satisfying results. Students who are unable to solve problems in learning will experience failure in achieving a goal. This study aims at looking at the contribution of learning motivation and self-confidence to the ability to solve the problem of student learning at SMAN 1 Lintau Buo. This type of research was quantitative with correlational methods. The sample of this research was the students of class X and X1 of SMAN 1 Lintau Buo identified from the AUM PTSDL results having the most problems. The research instrument used a learning motivastions, self confidence and the resolution of students learning problems. The result of the reliability test of the learning problem-solving ability was 0.759. The research data were analyzed by using multiple regressions. The research findings showed that: learning motivation, in general, was in the high category. The students’self-confidence was generally in the high category. The students' problem-solving abilities were generally in the high category. The learning motivation contributed positively and significantly to the learning problem-solving abilities. The self-confidence contributed positively and significantly to students' learning problem-solving abilities, and the learning motivation and self-confidence together contributed positively and significantly to the students' learning problem understanding abilities.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the self-efficacy perceptions and problem solving competencies of students of Health Sciences Faculty. The study included 150 students studying in 4th grade who completed the questionnaire completely. Self-efficacy-competence scale was used to evaluate students’ self-efficacy perceptions, and Problem Solving Inventory was used to evaluate problem solving proficiencies. The mean age of the students included in the study was 22.26 ± 1.27 years and 59.3% [n = 89] were female students. It was determined that the self-efficacy perception scores of the students were 82.30 ± 14.37 and the problem solving ability scores were 103.65 ± 19.31. There was a significant relationship between self-efficacy perception and problem solving ability [r = -0,328, p: 0.01]. According to the results, it was determined that the students had a low level of self-efficacy perception and problem solving competencies.

Low self-esteem is unworthy feeling because of less attention, love, affection and trust. The impact of low self-esteem could make negative feeling. It is not only to their own life, but also to their surrounding society. Low self-esteem can also be triggered by mistakes that came from parents, family, society and also teacher. The worst effect of low self-esteem in adolescence is on their academic score. They will get bad score because they do not have self confidence to do the assignment or try new experiences. This research purposed to find the low self-esteem, the factor of low self-esteem and the problem solving which is found in the action, gesture and utterance of main characters in the movie The Ron Clark Story. This research used descriptive qualitative research, because the researcher described the data that portray of low self-esteem. The researcher analyzed the data by using psychoanalytic analysis approach from Sigmund Freud. The data was analyzed by describing the low self-esteem in the movie The Ron Clark Story based on Tyson’s theory and the problem solving from Lachmann and Ron Clark’s theory. The researcher found 40 data of low self-esteem that showed in the movie The Ron Clark Story. The dominant factor was the academic challenges without caregiver’s support. The problem solving based on the movie The Ron Clark Story were classified into eight components. The most important component was implementing the class’s rules, followed by giving an appreciation, attention, care, trust, motivation, and help when they get difficulties, making innovation teaching method (especially for the teacher). Cooperation between parents and teachers are very important for the growth of the self-esteem and worthy to get the best potential of children’s life.

AbstractRecognising one’s abilities and limits in clinical tasks is a valuable part of professionalism. This study investigated the self-ratings of problem-solving confidence of radiation therapists (RTs) in two domains: clinical scenarios and critical thinking items (CTIs). We divided the 60 participants into three groups based on post-qualification experience (PQE), and found that greater PQE was linked with higher self-rated confidence for clinical scenarios, but not for CTIs.

The aim of the research is to describe the creative thinking process of abstract sequential and abstract random type-students in solving biological problem. The research conducted on two subjects that had differences in the type of the thinking that is abstract sequential type-student (STBSA) and abstract random type-student (STBAA) at Attaufiq Senior High School Jambi city. The data were selected according to the purpose of research. The data was collected by interviewing and modified think  aloud method. Data was analyzed by process of creative thinking frame work based on Polya’s problem solving steps. The over all results of the study concluded that the process of STBSA’s creative thinking conducted sequentially from the first stage to the last stage. The data which obtained according to problem-solving strategies and the steps in solving problems. The indicators of creativity are notified in the form of fluency, flexibility, originality, and the detail of biological solving  problems. While STBAA, the steps of creative thinking process is done randomly and not sequentially. The results of the problem solving which conducted is not be conviced because STBAA used more insight, imagination and logic. Then, in terms of creativity, the flexibility of STBAA is not appropriate to the indicator to solve problems because only applying one method of complishment, doesn’t have capability to produce a variety of ideas to implement the problem solving and not able to present a concept in different ways during biological problems solving. STBSA precisely solves the problem exactly, because it believes in the results of the thinking, as well as maintaining the criticality in the process of biological solving problems. While STBAA is less precise in solving problems due to the less of the self-confidence, less critical and contented easily in the process of solving biological problems.

Keywords: problem based learning, self confidence, kamampuan pemecahan masalah.  AbstrakThe purpose of this studi was to determine the relationship exists and how much the relationship of  self confidence (Self Confidence) students with a mathematics problem solving ability of students to use the PBL model (Problem Based Learning). Subjects in this study amounted to 30 people. The data collected in this study is a data on the self confidence by questionnaire, and the ability of solving mathematical problems with an tests essay. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between self confidence with mathematics problem solving ability of students using PBL models in MAN Kisaran indicated by . The relationship between self confidence in students with mathematical problem solving ability is indicated by, meaning that the higher the self confidence, the higher the students' mathematical problem solving ability, and the lower the self confidence of the students, the lower the mathematical problem solving abilities. Keywords: problem based learning, self confidence, problem solving mathematics ability
