Justicia gendarussa burm.f. has become important source of Phytol which is associated with other phenolic, terpenoids, alkaloids. Diterpenes shows anti-inflammatory activity. Phytol is a acyclic diterpene alcohol found as essential oil in aromatic plants.oil is obtained by Keshav-Naren apparatus (patent no:2343/Mum/2013/A).Phytol separated from other oil part by fractional distillation. It separated at 204-2080C.Characterization of Phytol carried out by IR,NMR,and mass spectrometry. Phytol shows potent as Anti-inflammatory activity by releasing histamine (26.92%), serotin and bradykinin (49.90%), and prostaglandin (68.03%) as compared to standard (Dicolfenac 5mg/kg).

Abstract Two types of columns, three types of packings, and four levels of column height were considered to investigate how column and packings affected the separation in the vacuum fractional distillation process of raw tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) oil (TTO). This study discussed those effects on purity, yield, and overall discovery to select the most excellent operating conditions for enriching terpinen-4-ol. After the experiments, the essential oil was successfully separated into two fractions, in which the second one composed mostly the main TTO constituent, terpinen-4-ol. The best result was achieved by conducting the distillation on a 300-mm Hempel column filled with small Fenske helices (10 mm × 2 mm i.d.) at the system pressure of 60 mmHg. GC/MS analysis showed an almost 2.5-fold increase in the content of terpinen-4-ol, from 39.23% to 95.77% after fractionation. Meanwhile, there was 75% of terpinen-4-ol successfully recovered from its parental oil. Hence, the vacuum fraction distillation could be an effective method to enrich the terpinen-4-ol content in TTO.

Nepeta cataria var. citriodora Beck. (catmints) is a source industrial production of citral and attractive raw material for food industry and cooking. Aerial part of Nepeta are characterized by high antimicrobial activity and fungicidal action against mold fungi, used in folk medicine, as ingredient in recipes for sausages, liqueurs and soft drinks, vegetable and fruit canned food, in the manufacture of vermouth. Ukrainian variety 'Melody' was created specifically for growing in the Forest-Steppe zone, and variety 'Peremozhets' – in the Steppe zone. Data on the yield aerial part and essential oil Nepeta was determined. The dry aerial part of plants N. cataria we used to create a dry spicy mixture for sweet dessert dishes. Quantitative content and qualitative composition of essential oil of plants by organs and phases of vegetation are presented in the article. In our research we used essential oils obtained by hydro distillation procedure for 2 h using Clevendger-type apparatus from the flowering parts of plants N. cataria 'Peremozhets' and 'Melody'. Investigate of components was carried out by high effective gas chromatography with HP 6890 chromatograph coupled with HP 5972 mass selective detector. The most abundant components of Nepeta essential oil was citral, geraniol, as well as nerol, citronellol, citronellal, carvacrol, camphor, eugenol. We proposed fractional distillation of essential oils to obtain a line of flavors with stable sensory and physicochemical indicators for food industry. The separation of essential oils into fractions was carried out on a pilot installation of fractional distillation DFD (Device of Fractional Distillation). Calculations of parameters controlled dispersal of essential oils (residual pressure, temperature regimes, number of theoretical plates, reflux number) were carried out. During fractionation of essential oil of N. cataria four fractions were obtained with a content of 96 ±0.5% to the total mass of samples. Sensory and physicochemical analysis of aromatic fractions announced them as promising flavours for food industry.

Lemongrass essential oil has many compounds appropriate for application in foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products. Of these, citral is a high-value compound of interest to industry. This work aims to evaluate the use of vacuum fractional distillation to separate lemongrass essential oil compounds, producing essential oil fractions containing high citral content. The effect of process parameters, namely vacuum pressure, type column, and energy input, on the fractionation time, content, and recovery of citral in the fractions, was investigated. The fractionation of lemongrass oils successfully provided five fractions, i.e., fraction 1 (F1), fraction 2 (F2), fraction 3 (F3), fraction 4 (F4), and fraction 5 (F5). GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) spectra showed that the main compound contained in F1 and F2 fractions was β-myrcene (>70%). Meanwhile, F4 and F5 were the two main fractions for citral recovery. The optimal conditions of the fractional distillation system included a column height of 400 mm, power input of 165 W, and pressure of 15 mmHg. These conditions correspond to the highest total citral content of 95%, with a recovery of 80% at the F4 and F5 fractions. Therefore, fractional vacuum distillation may be an effective method to upgrade lemongrass essential oil.
