In this work, we present some new sufficient conditions for the oscillation of a class of second-order neutral delay differential equation. Our oscillation results, complement, simplify and improve recent results on oscillation theory of this type of non-linear neutral differential equations that appear in the literature. An example is provided to illustrate the value of the main results.

ABSTRACTFor predicting the long-term behavior of bentonite, we present a new and unified simulation procedure of Molecular Dynamics Method (MD) and Homogenization Analysis (HA). The MD is applied to establish molecular-scale bentonite properties and the HA is introduced to extrapolate the molecular model to the bulk-scale continuum model.

We present explicit exact solutions of some evolution equations including cubic Boussinesq and coupled Higgs system by the unified method. The explicit solutions are expressed in terms of some elementary functions including trigonometric, exponential, and polynomial. The method is applied to a number of special test problems to test the strength of the method and computational results indicate the power and efficiency of the method.

Abstract In this work, we consider the (3+1) dimensional conformable fractional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation with power law nonlinearity. Solitary wave solutions, soliton wave solutions, elliptic wave solutions, and periodic (hyperbolic) wave rational solutions are obtained by means of the unified method. The solutions showed that this method provides us with a powerful mathematical tool for solving nonlinear conformable fractional evolution equations in various fields of applied sciences.

The background of this research is speech act as one important aspect in achieving a desired outcome by the speaker to the hearer. This research aimed to determine the use of locution, illocution, perlocution, in the movie “Small Letter to God” by Harris Nizam. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection procedure in this study refers to the method to obtain data on the use of language by listening, and implication af speech act against Indonesian language learning at school. Basic techniques in this method are tapping and recording. Data were analyzed using the unified method. The techniques used are referential techniques to describe speech act conversations in the film, and pragmatic techniques to explain the speech acts and intentions of speakers based on speech act theory. This research conclude as follows: (1) in the film of  “Small Letter to God” by Harris Nizam dominating by locution act; (2) speech act illocution found in film consisting of speech act of illocution are representative, directive, komisive, and expressive. The act of illocution speech act was not found in this film; (3) a speech perlocution also found in film conversation. Beside that speech act consisting of locution, illocution perlocution also found in  “Small Letter to God” by Harris Nizam; (4) the findings speech act should be used by teachers in teaching Indonesia language  communicatively  related to pragmatic  topic. Keywords:  Speech Act, Locution, Ilocution, Perlocution, Film.

Based on the unified analytical method of stress analysis for fixed tubesheet (TS) heat exchangers (HEX), floating head and U-tube HEX presented in Part I, numerical comparisons with ASME method are performed in this paper as Part II. Numerical comparison results indicate that predictions given by the unified method agree well with finite element analysis (FEA), while ASME results are not accurate or not correct. Therefore, it is concluded that the unified method deals with thin TS of different types of HEX in equal detail with confidence to predict design stresses.
