Lecturer is educators who are under the auspices of higher education institutions. one of the duties of the lecturer is to guide and help develop the potential of students so they can complete their studies. Likewise, the lecturer in the Mathematics Education study program at one of the universities in Langsa city was appointed as an academic advisor (PA). but there are some obstacles that are felt by PA lecturers, such as the absence of a guidance manual, lack of understanding of technology, students consult only once in one semester, and some students only ask for signatures to fill Study Plan Cards (KRS) and Study Results Cards (KHS ) manual. However, students also have other perceptions, according to the interview results, it is known that PA lecturers are only needed to sign the KRS and KHS, some PA lecturers are difficult to find, some PA lecturers do not have time to consult, PA lecturers do not direct courses in the following semester. so the purpose of this study was to express student satisfaction in mathematics education in terms of PA lecturer services. The approach of this research is a quantitative approach. The research sample was 61 mathematics education students with systematic sampling. For data collection techniques using questionnaires and data analysis techniques using simple regression followed by the -F test. The results showed that the level of student satisfaction in terms of PA lecturer services was in a sufficient category, so it can be concluded that there was a significant contribution between the services of PA lecturers to the satisfaction of mathematics education students.

That professor! What he says is great—but that idea just won't work in the classroom!” These statements may be common among some teacher education students. Such comments are now heard much less frequently, however, around the University of Houston. The mathematics education faculty is experimenting with a competency- based program, as part of a collegewide endeavor, that requires prospective teachers to actually use in their classrooms what they hear and read about teaching. Initial experiences with this program suggest several advantages both for teachers in training and for teacher educators. This article describes some features and benefits of one type of approach to competency-based mathematics education.

Profil of Student’s Mathematical Critical Thinking in Solving Trigonometry Question Viewed from Self-ConfidenceAbstractEntering the era of the Asean Economic Community (MEA) requires qualified teacher candidates to be able to prepare generations that can compete globally. One of the abilities that a prospective teacher must possess is mathematical critical thinking skills. A study concluded that critical thinking skills are influenced by self-confidence. This study aims to describe the mathematical critical thinking skills of the SWCU FKIP Mathematics Education students in terms of their level of confidence. This type of research is qualitative descriptive. The research subjects were SWCU FKIP Mathematics Education students taken based on 2 categories, namely students with high self-confidence or S1 and students with low self-confidence or S2. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in mathematical critical thinking skills between S1 subjects and S2 subjects where S1 subjects fulfill all aspects of FRISCO (focus, reason, inference, situation, clarity, and overview) while S2 subjects only fulfill focus, reason, inference, and clarity aspects.

Mathematics education students’ ability on developing evidence needs to be reviewed by lecturers. 50% of the subjects in the mathematics education departement require students' accuracy in analyzing mathematical statements. This is increasingly important because the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) for the Bachelor level requires graduates to become technicians / analysts. The diversity of levels of students’ ability, gender, and learning styles are assumsed to be the discrepancy abilities to develop evidence. This study aims to describe the evidence developing ability based on the levels of achievement, gender, and student learning styles. The subjects of this study were abstact algebra students in the mathematics education department. Type of this research was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques using test and non-test techniques. Students were given five questions about abstact algebra that demanded the evidence developing ability. The achivement levels and gender were obtained from students’ academic achievement data. The learning styles were attained from questionnaires. The results of the study is higher the students’ academic achievement, better the evidence developing ability on Abstract Algebra. The gender does not affect the evidence developing ability on Abstact Algebra. Students with visual learning styles have the ability to develop evidence better than students with other learning styles.

Purpose of the study: This research aims to analyze the alteration representation in the process of translation graphic to graphic where students were asked to solve derivative and integral graphics problems. Methodology: This research used a pseudo-experimental study with Pretest-posttest nonequivalent Group Design. This research was conducted on 24 mathematics education students. Students were asked to solve derivative and integral graphics problems. Some samples of students were interviewed to determine the translation process. Main Findings: The results of the study showed that the subject used two different methods to carry out the translation process. Thus, all students perform the process of translating the graphic representation into graphs with two different methods, namely the interval and the symbolic. Applications of this study: The implications of this study indicated that the translation process can help students solve problems, especially problems with graphs and algebra, also revealed activity in the translation process different from that of other researchers before. Novelty/Originality of this study: Researchers express a new activity to the translation by calling the conversion Intermediary In the stages of Preliminary Coordination (PC) and Objective Construction (CT), S1 and S2 show different forms.
