International network proposed to tackle satellite constellation issues

Abstract The anthropometric assessment of a person or population is used by professionals from different areas (health, sports, education, ergonomics, engineering), and the quality of the measures obtained by them determines the success of their interventions. This point of view aims to underline the importance of training these professionals through The International Anthropometry Accreditation Scheme (IAAS) implemented by The International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK), which aims to create and maintain an international network of professionals updated continuously from the practical and scientific point of view in the anthropometric measurement of excellence. We describe the four-level hierarchical structure of IAAS, which is guided by the rules defined in the ISAK Handbook and the anthropometric procedures described in the ISAK manuals, as well as the importance and functionality of the ISAK website. It is suggested that an ISAK mobile app be developed to, among other things, facilitate communication among its members, streamline data management of accreditation courses and increase the organization’s international projection.

The “Middle Atmosphere” Regional Information and Analytic Center (Central Aerological Observatory) works out algorithms for analyzing the quality of aerological data based on machine learning methods. Different approaches to the data preparation are described, the examples of data that were rejected using standard approaches are given, the ways to develop and improve the quality of aerological information transmitted to the WMO international network are outlined.

Access to the essential medicines is an important challenge in the developing countries. To have access to the quality and affordable medicines, the pharmaceutical decision makers try different strategies. The production of generic and copy medicines is one of the strategies that if adopted based on the recognized standards and norms can be effective in raising the health status in the developing countries. According to US Food and drug Administration, “a generic drug is a medication created to be the same as an already marketed brand-name drug in dosage form, safety, strength, route of administration, quality, performance characteristics, and intended use. These similarities help to demonstrate bioequivalence, which means that a generic medicine works in the same way and provides the same clinical benefit as its brand-name version”. To make it more understandable, you can define a generic medicine as an equal substitute for its brand-name if it has been produced based on standard norms. However, shakable regulation impairs the quality of generic and copy medicines and harms the health of consumers. NGOs including advocacy groups and scientific groups play effective and undeniable role to ensure quality of the health services which patients receive. Therefore, building a network between activists and scientists is the first step towards better quality. Since we are living in a global market and pharmaceutical active ingredients of pharmaceutical finished products can be found in different regions in the market, the second step of the battle against substandard is to make an international network between advocacy groups. The international network assists to prevent menaces of substandard medicines faster and with reliance on a scientific approach. Furthermore, in the lecture, we aim to reflect over the role of different beneficiaries including international organizations, governments, and pharmaceutical companies in ensuring the feasible and sustainable access of citizens to the essential medicines.

The transparency of the atmosphere affects the quality of astronomical observations and optical communications, but above all, it directly controls the fluxes of radiation, which is of particular interest for the study of weather and climate changes. The transparency of the atmosphere also affects the success of observing thermospheric lidar reflections. Since they are a consequence of the high transparency of the atmosphere, the reflections can be used as characteristics of atmospheric transparency.

Focus accuracy affects the quality of the astronomical observations. Auto-focusing is necessary for imaging systems designed for astronomical observations. The automatic focus system searches for the best focus position by using a proposed search algorithm. The search algorithm uses the image’s focus levels as its objective function in the search process. This paper aims to study the performance of several search algorithms to select a suitable one. The proper search algorithm will be used to develop an automatic focus system for Kottamia Astronomical Observatory (KAO). The optimal search algorithm is selected by applying several search algorithms into five sequences of star-clusters observations. Then, their performance is evaluated based on two criteria, which are accuracy and number of steps. The experimental results show that the Binary search is the optimal search algorithm.

Within the framework of the Convention on the Conservation of Biodiversity and the implementation of the program “Agrobiodiversity for the improvement of nutrition, health and quality of life” by joint research of the Department of Acclimatization of Fruit Plants of the M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Institute for Biodiversity Conservation and Biosafety of the Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra created the International Network AgroBioNet. The scientific and organizational activities of the network are focused on the development of international cooperation in the field of non-traditional, neglected, and underutilized plant species that contribute to food security. AgroBioNet has more than 50 registered researchers and 250 experts, and unites research institutions, educational institutions, research stations, and farms from 21 countries. Five scientific conferences and 435 published articles for the period 2005–2020 (20 to 50 publications per year) on agrobiodiversity conservation, information on new, non-traditional, neglected, and underutilized plant species have contributed to the expansion of research on their bioecological, biochemical and medicinal properties (including antioxidants) properties, technologies of cultivation and reproduction, practical use and introduction in farms and private gardens.
