Carthamus tinctorius L. is a plant, that is used for oil production and dyeing, and also used for medical purposes and cosmetology. A distinctive biological feature of this plant is its high drought resistance. In the process of global warming the increase in air temperature in Transnistria over the past 70 years amounted to 1,2…1,3 °C, the increase in soil temperature over the past 20 years in the observed soil layer 0,2…3,2 m amounted 0,8…1,2 °C. In this regard the intercalation of drought resistant crops, such as Carthamus tinctorius L., into agricultural production is relevant. The dura- tion of the growing season of a Carthamus tinctorius L. collection specimen of unknown origin in the Republican Botanical Garden (in the town of Tiraspol) when sown in middle of April for the period from the year of 2008 to the year of 2017 ranged from 103 to 113 days. In the conditions of Transnistria in the year of 2020 for the first time the influence of sowing time of Carthamus tinctorius L. on the development of a complex of features was studied. Sowing of Carthamus tinctorius was carried out five times: the 20th and the 27th of March, the 3rd and the 14th of April, the 2nd of May. The study of the influence of the sowing time showed decreasing values of the complex of features with later sowing time of Carthamus tinctorius L. The mostly significant decreased with a later sowing time were such features as the number of branches of the first and the second level, the number of seeds in the inflorescence, the number of seeds per plant. The best sowing date in the conditions of an acute drought in the year of 2020 was the first sowing time on the 20th of March. The value of the features in this sowing period was: plants’ height — 55 cm, the number of branches of the first level — 8,7 pieces, the number of branches of the second level — 4,6 pieces, the number of inflorescences per plant — 14,1 pieces, the number of seeds in the inflorescence — 7,0 pieces, the number of seeds per plant — 64,8 pieces.

On the territory of the garden and park landscapes of the Middle Pobuzhzhia 31 species of higher vascular plants that have national or regional protection status have been revealed or cited in literature. Of these, 9 species are listed in the current edition of the Red Data Book of Ukraine, 10 species have regional protection status in Vinnytsia region and 20 species in Cherkasy region. National Dendrological Park «Sofiyivka» NAS of Ukraine has the largest number of species from the Red Data Book of Ukraine (8 species): Tulipa quercetorum, Euonymus nana, Scopolia carniolica, Allium ursinum, Pulsatilla pratensis, Pulsatilla patens, Trapa natans, Epipactis helleborine, Neottia nidus-avis. Only by one rare species were revealed in the Pechersky (Scopolia carniolica), Sokiletsky (Pulsatilla pratensis), Verkhivsky (Trapa natans) and Kryzhopilsky (Epipactis helleborine) parks. Phytoindication assessment of the identified localities showed that the most of them are on the border or even outside their ecological-coenotic amplitude by one or more factors, which indicates their vulnerability to external influences. Currently, the greatest threat to the existence of species at present is the recreational load, so according to the Law on the Red Data Book of Ukraine, they all need proper protection measures.

As a result of the study it was determined that Orontium aquaticum L. under the conditions of the Right- Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine undergoes a full cycle of seasonal growth and development. The morphometric parameters of plants growing in well-lit areas practically do not differ from a natural ones. O. aquaticum reproduces both by seeds and vegetatively. Ten-year-old plants, up to 45 cm high, form about 85 green fruits from the pericarp with a diameter of 0.6 to 1.8 cm and a weight of 0.4 to 2.8 g. The seed productivity is 39.7%. According to the assessment, O. aquaticum belongs to promising and highly decorative species.

Intr0ducti0n. Green plantations in Ukraine require optimization of species, shape and varietal composition of ornamental plants. These include the genus Cotinus Mill. one of the oldest genera of angiosperms of the Sumac family (Anacardiaceae Lindl.). Matcrials and mcth0ds. The species and varietal composition of the Cotinus collection of the Sofiyivka National Dendrological Park of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was studied. Morphological fea- tures of collectibles of the genus Cotinus were studied according to generally accepted methods. Rcsults and discussi0n. In he collection of the National Arboretum “Sofiyivka” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine two species and 4 cultivars of the genus Cotinus were tested and studied, namely: C. obovatus Raf., C. coggygria Scop., C. coggygria ‘Royal Purple’, C. coggygria ‘Purpureus’, C. coggygria ‘Young Lady, C. coggygria ‘Golden Spirit’. According to our research, all members of the genus Cotinus winter-, frost-resistant, as well as drought-resistant plants. They have satisfactory growth and bloom and bear fruit annually. C0nclusi0ns. Thus, the collection of plants of NDP “Sofiyivka” includes a valuable fund of genetic resources of the genus Cotinus, which is used mainly as a mother plant for the reproduction of ornamental forms that are in demand in the market of seedlings.
