Abstract Separating erosion data and assessing season-based models are of great importance considering the variation in soil erosion processes in different seasons, especially in semi-arid regions. However, evaluation of an erosion model using seasonal classification of data and at a micro-watershed level have rarely been considered. Therefore, the present study was conducted to evaluate the modified universal soil loss equation (MUSLE): 1) with the seasonal classification of data and 2) with the traditional approach (no classification of data), in the Sanganeh research micro-watershed. This watershed has an area of 1.2 ha and is located in the north east of Iran. The results showed that the original MUSLE overestimated the sediment yield in the study watershed. Also, after calibration of MUSLE, the seasonal classification of data (with a relative estimation error (RE) of 34%) showed its superior performance compared with the traditional calibration approach (with a RE of 62%). In this regard, the obtained REs of 33, 40, and 31% respectively for spring, autumn, and winter are within or close to the acceptable range.

Background: Carcinoma of the breast is one of the most common cancer in women and it is the second cause of cancer deaths only to lung cancer. Recent attention has been directed singularly at molecular classifications of breast cancer. Molecular subtypes have different prognostic and therapeutic implications. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the ER, PR, and HER-2/neu reactivity pattern in breast carcinomas and to correlate this reactivity pattern with stage tumor size and lymph node metastasis. Methodology: This is a prospective analytical observational study was conducted in the North East Cancer Hospital and Department of Pathology of North East Medical College, Sylhet, Bangladesh during a 42 months period from July 2015 to December 2018. Result: Among 67 Cases of primary invasive breast carcinoma only one case was male and 66 were female. In aspect of tumor size most of the patient presented with 2 to 5cm tumor, 47(70.2%) cases and (80.6%) presented with more than 2cm tumor size. In our study 38(56.7%) cases of breast cancer found ER positive, 38.8%(26 cases) PR positive and 22.4% (15 cases) HER2/neu positive, most common presentation of the disease was at stage llB(29 cases,45%), lymph node positivity 46(68.7%) cases and lymph node negative 21(31.3%) cases, 5(7.5%)cases. In aspect of molecular subtyping we found luminl A 29 (43.3%) cases Luminal B 11.9% (8 cases) basal like 22(32.8%) cases and HER-2/neu over expressed 8(11.9%) cases. Conclusion: Cancer screening and early detection program can improve our scenario. Journal of Current and Advance Medical Research 2020;7(1): 30-35

Background: CC chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5) is introduced as an immune response modulator. The activity of CCR5 influences breast tumour development in a p53-dependent manner. This study aimed to investigate the frequency of CCR5delta32 and its association with the risk of breast cancer in 1038 blood samples in North East of Iran. Methods: In this case-control study, we genotyped 570 control samples and 468 breast cancer patients by a gel electrophoresis-based gap-polymerase chain reaction (gap-PCR) method Mashhad, Iran. The data were analyzed using the SPSS software. Results: Of 570 controls included, 542 (95.09%) had CCR5delta32 wild/wild (W/W) genotype, 28 samples (4.91%) had CCR5delta32 wild/deletion (W/D) genotype and none of them were CCR5delta32 deletion/deletion (D/D) genotype (0%). While 428 samples of patients (91.45%) had CCR5delta32 W/W genotype, 40 samples (8.55%) had CCR5delta32 W/D and CCR5delta32 D/D homozygous was nil (0%) amongst cases. All samples were in the Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium (P>0.05). According to the allele frequency, D allele, as a risky allele, in the cases was more than the control samples (0.0427 vs 0.0245, respectively) (P=0.0206). Hence, W/D genotype may confer a risk effect (OR=1.77, CI: 1.09-2.90; P=0.0206) compared with WW genotype between case and control groups. Conclusion: There is a statistically significant association between CCR5W/D and breast cancer risk. CCR5 may be regarded as a target for the prevention of breast cancer in certain conditions such as interaction with p53 variants, which remains to be further investigated.

Purpose: According to the Bulgarian National Cancer Registry of 2017, breast cancer accounted for 26.8% of all malignancies among women. The actual incidence rate was 108.1 per 100 000. Materials/ Methods: An observational retrospective study was conducted among breast cancer patients diagnosed and treated at Dr Marko Markov Specialised Hospital for Treatment of Oncologic Diseases (SHTOD) - Varna, between 2016 and 2019. Descriptive statistics and collected data included demographic characteristics, clinical data (survival rates) and type of pharmacotherapy. Results: In terms of gender distribution, significantly more women were affected, accounting for approximately 99.05%. Patients from cities were almost 7 times more than those from villages. Patients aged between 61 and 70 represented the largest number, which accounted for 28.04% of all included in the study. Conclusion: Taking into consideration not only the efficiency but also the cost-effectiveness of available treatment strategies can lead to considerably better therapeutic outcomes. There is no pharmacoeconomic data analysis in Bulgaria. A further study of all direct and indirect costs is required in order to estimate the cost of premature death, reduced working capacity and disability.
