Abstract The rules of intake, which determine how educational institutions are accessed, play a significant part in generating intergenerational educational inequalities. Different rules may allow parental advantages to compensate for students’ lack of advantages (such as academic performance) or to multiply and help only those students who are in a position to use such additional advantages. In this article, we study compensation and the multiplication of advantages in the context of the Finnish higher education system. Entrance exams and a dual model (universities and polytechnics) make this system stand out among many other Western countries and hence suitable for this study. Using high-quality Finnish register data, we study the associations between parental education and stratified higher education enrolment across the school performance distribution. Our results show that polytechnics provide access for poorly performing students from higher social origins (compensatory advantage). Polytechnic education also attracts well-performing students from lower social origins, which leads to a situation in which well-performing students with higher social origins have a substantially larger probability of enrolling in university compared to well-performing students with lower social origins (multiplicative advantage).

Education has been considered as an indispensable asset of every individual, community and nation today. Indias higher education system is the third largest in the world, after China and the United States (World Bank). Tamil Nadu occupies the first place in terms of possession of higher educational institutions in the private sector in the country with over 46 percent(27) universities, 94 percent(464) professional colleges and 65 percent(383) arts and science colleges(2011). Studies to understand the profile of the entrepreneurs providing higher education either in India or Tamil Nadu were hardly available. This paper attempts to map the demographic profile of the entrepreneurs providing higher education in Arts and Science colleges in Tamil Nadu through an empirical analysis, carried out among 25 entrepreneurs spread across the state. This paper presents a summary of major inferences of the analysis.

Analysis and consideration of current migration trends in our country, in particular mass interstate migration movements in the context of Ukraine's participation in the European and world migration space, are considered among the important factors in shaping its national policy. Educational migration is a special threat to the socio-economic development of the country and sustainable development of society, as the formation of highly qualified personnel, accumulation of intellectual capital, and increasing scientific and technological potential of the country are among the important factors of economic and social progress. Due to the intensification of interstate migration flows and the development of the quality of the higher education system in foreign educational institutions, migration for education takes a larger share, which is mostly accompanied by constant migration and departure of Ukrainian citizens for permanent residence abroad. The analysis of publications on this issue proves the urgency of educational migration research, and today it remains important to analyze trends in educational migration, find mechanisms to counter the transformation of Ukraine into a country of origin of educational migrants, as well as their repatriation. The article analyzes the educational migration processes in Ukraine in the regional context. The main regional centers of higher education are identified. The focus is on the migration intentions of the population to study abroad and a comparative description of the educational systems of different countries. The order and stages of the admission campaign in foreign educational institutions are described. The essence and features of educational migration are studied and the main reasons that help Ukrainian students to choose foreign higher education institutions are highlighted. The main causes and consequences of educational migration, as well as potential opportunities for educational migration, are identified. Certain benefits and costs associated with educational migration processes are justified. The directions of development of educational migration and effective migration system in Ukraine and its regions, which should take a worthy place in the migration policy of the state, are offered.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"> </p><p class="RESUMENCURSIVA">As in many other European countries also Finnish higher education system has witnessed several reforms over the past decade many of which originate in efforts to make more competitive and affordable higher education system. The aim of this paper is to describe the changes and institutional mergers in particular that have taken place in Finnish higher education and explore what kind of academic identities are constructed amid changes in Finnish higher education. The paper shows that the mergers followed the objectives set by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture for the structural development of the higher education system and that the creation of a joint culture for merged institutions was important yet challenging. The paper also argues that due to these external changes in Finnish higher education there is a tendency to move from a traditional notion of an academic toward more hybrid and dynamic understanding of what it is being an academic in the 21st century.</p><p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif'; font-size: 12pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;" lang="EN-US"><br /></span></p>

Service rules make it easier for an institution to pursue higher education. In order to ensure quality education, it is essential that educational institutions have service rules. The service rules of university employment are considered to be conducive to the higher education system. On this article discusses the importance of service rules. Each step of the service rules is shown with the help of diagrams and each of the steps is discussed separately. To certify higher education has played a noteworthy part in Bangladesh. The rules clearly specify the rights and duties of workers and employers where every institution must have its own service rules regulating any employment but cannot be contradictory to any establishment of the labor laws. Job satisfaction is considered as a vital determinant of job activities. Some of the universities are providing quality education but rests of them are not quality concerned, most of them are depending on Daily basis teachers, poor infrastructures, without service rules etc. The trial was taken on a random basis from four private universities in Bangladesh. The sample size is forty-five. The result of this study shows that about job satisfaction level of employees in the selected universities. In the end, based on results, researchers have offered some suggestions that can be taken into thought in strategy level.

Higher educational Institutions all over the world are grappling with increased student population, several domains of learning and varied disciplines and instructors with varied experiences in using instructional design technologies. The chapter focuses on how it is possible to facilitate instructional design experiences for the stakeholders in higher education for creative learning. The chapter addresses the emergence of Instructional Design Technology (IDT). The role of IDT and its importance in higher educational institutions is studied with current practices in the field. The impact that this field had made in the evolution of instructional frameworks across the different layers of tertiary educational system is studied especially with regard to improving the teaching and learning experiences of educators and students respectively. The role of Creative Learning technologies' is discussed based on the success that these systems have enjoyed in improving instructional design.

The article provides a classification of pedagogical conditions of realization of inclusive education in the higher education system and their analysis in six universities in Moscow. The study involved 212 students from 1 to 4 year studying in different majors and levels of training. The study was conducted by surveying. To study the teaching conditions two groups were identified in a contingent of students: students with disabilities, and without deviations in health. For the analysis of the data we used correlation and factor analysis. The results of the study confirmed the theoretical structure of the classification and showed differences in the estimates of pedagogical conditions of implementation of inclusive education of students with disabilities, and without them. The theoretical framework for the analysis and classification can be used in practice for the study of pedagogical conditions of implementation of inclusive education in educational institutions of different tupes.

The article analyzes the prerequisites and consequences of the systemic crisis of higher education, highlights the key characteristics of the crisis phenomena in the system of education in Russia and on a global scale at the institutional and state levels. Applying the principles of the dialectical development of the educational system, the author reveals the contradictions between the evolutionary processes that trigger the development of society and education, postulating internal contradictions and conflicts in the coexistence of social and educational institutions. According to the author, the basic concepts of society and education are also antagonistic: knowledge and information, which are defined in the article, their roles and functions are described. The author pays special attention to the issues of trust in society towards the educational institutions, analyzes the reasons for the low level of trust. The article is based on the normative documents of UNESCO and the World Bank, analytical and scientific publications of Russian and foreign researchers. In connection with a new round of the crisis in higher education due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the article provides an analysis of the problems, describes the risks for universities during the period of functioning after the pandemic, suggests solutions to the crisis for the higher education system in the context of creating a new social and educational paradigms.

This study aims to analyse students’ enrollment in social work courses in Indian higher educational institutions. The higher education system in India is one of the world's largest systems of its kind. There are 526 social work educational institutions and 181 Universities (20 per cent) imparting social work education and training at different levels. The data from the reports of All India Survey on Higher Education for the period of 2010-11 to 2018-19 was analysed. More than half (59.12 per cent) of the institutions are teaching undergraduate courses in social work (BSW), and more than 95 per cent are teaching postgraduate courses (MSW). Male students outnumbered female students in both courses. The share of students enrolled through distance mode of education in BSW and MSW programmes is 22 per cent and 34.09 per cent, respectively. Student enrollment at the M. Phil level has witnessed a sudden decline, but there has been a consistent increase in the Ph.D. programme. India has added around 0.36 million BSWs/MSWs in the past eight years, averaging forty-five thousand professional social workers per annum. The changes in the socio-political environment, human relationships and social space, technology, and globalisation processes and global agenda will decide the future of social work in India.
