The conclusion harmonizes the overarching themes of the book, providing a final look at the dramatic relationship between identity, change, and solidification for Pakistan’s largest religious minority at its most important place of worship today. The conclusion first sketches the site’s and the residing Devi’s history as well as the pilgrimage’s ancient origin. In a second step, the author summarizes how recent infrastructural and organizational developments caused the ritual journey to undergo significant changes resulting in novel practices performed on the way to and at the shrine. Finally he sums up how these alterations lead to a solidification of the Hinglaj tradition, which is directed toward establishing some kind of unity among the various narratives and practices occurring in the valley.

The ways of informing students about the activities which are organized on a faculty or university level daily present an increasing challenge. The very aim of this work is to analyze and compare ways of informing students of the Faculty of Education about the sport activities on the faculty and university level. The way of informing students about the activities will be compared with the ways of informing about general sport activities in order to identify possible deviation from two different types of activities. Promotion being one of the marketing elements, so is the appliance of adequate promotion tools very important in all social processes. Numerous examples, especially in sport, proved that the activities of the sport participants will not be successful without the adequate use of promotion. University sport in developed countries surely occupies an important place in the academic community; from that point of view it is very important to determine the way of managing the university sport. The university sport in the Republic of Croatia is becoming more significant element of students' activities every day, and the promotion contributes to that. Apart from comparing the ways of informing about sport and regular activities, this paper will provide the time comparison of the mentioned researches between 2014 and 2020. The comparison of the same data with the time lag will provide the best picture of the changes in the ways of informing in a 6-year-period. The obtained results have shown that even after six years, students continue to prefer certain communication channels, i.e. they remain primary.

"The Orthodox religious music in Transylvanian tradition has a unique history. It gained an important place in the Romanian musical heritage, by the way it managed to adapt to Romanian, in its own style, the psaltic musical repertoire, of Byzantine tradition. Build from the oral tradition, which, in its turn blended with folklore, cult music, and the other co-existing cults, and from psaltic tradition, Dimitrie Cuntanu’s work fairly represents, the first Transylvanian religious musical monument of Romanian root. The Byzantine musical origin of this paper can be detected, together with other works, from the musical structures of the first Katavasia established by Cuntanu, at Lord’s Birth Feast. Transformed to Romanian by different anonymous protagonists of the Transylvanian music, the Lord’s Birth Catavasia represents a Hrysantic exegesis reference of Byzantine music, in a Transylvanian style. Firefox OS is an operating system for mobile devices. It is developed by Mozilla and is based on web technologies. Developed applications are therefore not tied to a given type of hardware. Mozilla works on standardisation of Web APIs, so that the device hardware could be accessed more easily. It also introduced its sign-in system for the Web and furthermore, it wants to redefine the way payments work for mobile applications. Firefox OS is not directly competing with Android and iOS, although it has some common target markets with Android. It could be an opportunity to weaken the iOS and Android duopoly. For now it targets users that don't have smartphones yet and is mostly used on low-end devices. The biggest challenge of Firefox OS is to assure a stable position in the mobile OS ecosystem and to get a large volume of users. Mozilla has an ambition to improve the web and make the web the platform. However developing the Firefox OS and ensuring its important place on the market is difficult because of technological and business limits that will be discussed in this chapter.

In this paper I take my cue from what I suggest calling “the Adamitic modernity.” By this phrase I endeavor to capture a specific ‘removal’ of childhood that occurs in the Cartesian gesture of the enthroning of Reason. By drawing upon a reading of the major philosophical works of Descartes, I will argue that one of the main thrusts of his conceptual device is a deep-seated, and even anguished, mistrust of childhood and its errors. To put it in a nutshell: in the Cartesian modernity philosophy/science and childhood are at odds with each other. In the second step of my argumentation, I will show in what sense Dewey rehabilitates childhood and its form of experience by, thus, healing the rift between childhood and science (as his notions of inquiry and qualitative thought prove). This notwithstanding, Dewey was not ready to take the decisive step of thinking of a philosophy for children. Precisely by activating and developing the significance of qualitative thought, Matthew Lipman was able, instead, to progress beyond Dewey. In this perspective, I will show how Lipman and Ann Sharp, while walking in Dewey’s footsteps as far as their non-Cartesian interpretation of childhood is concerned, part company with him in their educational take on philosophy and on how this results in a revamping of the way of construing the Deweyan relationship between the child and the curriculum.

Edith Sitwell was a key figure in the establishment of a British avant-garde “scene” and in the development of a unique literary expression. Taken together, each of the contributors gives body to a serious reconsideration, even resurrection, of Sitwell's important place in British modernism. Overall, this book makes a place for the lost story of Sitwellism in modernist history. It shows how her place in that history depends on a continual public and private remaking of self. Further, this book gives substance to the type of avant-garde that she (and her brothers) worked to craft—ornamental and baroque—by exploring the affective traces it produced in melancholic camp and her notion of female poetry. Finally, it demonstrates some ways in which that effect also includes and even invites engagement with socio-historical discourses of class, gender, and empire. Altogether, this volume opens the way for a long and rich reconsideration of this crucial, central figure of British modernism.

Abstract This article is an attempt to clarify the role of pregivenness by drawing on the accounts afforded by Eugen Fink both in the Sixth Cartesian Meditation and in the complementary writings to this study. Pregivenness is first situated, along with givenness and non-givenness, within the framework of the system of transcendental phenomenology. As a second step, an examination is undertaken of the dimensions of pregivenness in the natural attitude. Next, nonpregivenness in the transcendental sphere is examined with a focus upon the way in which indeterminateness does not undermine the possibility of a transcendental foreknowledge in the natural attitude, and on the other hand implies the productive character of phenomenological knowledge. After showing how, with the reduction, the pregivennes of the world turns into the pregivenness of world-constitution, the paper addresses the problems raised by the nonpregivenness both of the depth-levels and the reach of transcendental life. By unfolding these lines of inquiry, transcendental phenomenology surmounts the provisional analysis of constitution at the surface level as well as the limitation of transcendental life to the egological sphere. Finally, it is contended that Fink’s account of pregivenness overstates apperceptive or secondary pregivenenness because is does not deal with the pregivenness that precedes acts and is the condition of possibility for primary passivity. Reasons for the omission of impressional or primary pregivenness are suggested.

The study deals with the communicative interaction between the author, the hero, the text, the reader in a postmodern novel. A similar and ambiguous reality, on the one hand, sometimes led to the subjectivist hypertrophy, absolutizing the author’s world view, and at times minimized and devaluated the author’s identity, on the other. Therefore, from the end of the 1990s the ways of expressing author’s “Self” changed dramatically, which directly affected the means of creating a hero in the contemporary Ukrainian literature. An important place in the communicative literary model was occupied by the text as an independent semantic unit and the reader as an interpreter of the text. The specifics of deploying the dialog between the author and the hero point to the transformation of their functions in the Ukrainian postmodern novel. Considering the statement of the death of the author proclaimed by R. Barthes, the former stops being the main holistic text creator, thus rather becoming its product and the way of expression. The author, the hero and the text have a certain integrity aimed at the interpretative game with the recipient, who diffuses the newly created semantic integrity into a diversity of meanings.

Criminalistic research on locks takes an important place in prevention, qualification, disclosure and investigation of property crimes related to house penetration, so-called burglaries. The analysis of modern expert practice has established a tendency to increase the unauthorized (criminal) picking of cylinder pin locks with a horizontally oriented keyhole that has become widespread in last years. Its contributes a large number of manufactured devices (manufactured in China mainly) for picking indicated locks, namely master keys operating on the principle of self impressioning and can be purchased through the Internet, as well as a larger number video materials regarding their use. In the available criminalistic literature only singles, at some extent current and actual ways of unauthorized picking of cylinder pin locks using of outside objects with developed recommendations according research on such as manipulation method by means of a selected forged key and bumping are covered. Method of self impressioning that is the basis of picking modern locks mastered and successfully used by "qualified" burglars majority, in modern criminalistics is not mentioned at all. Therefore the purpose of this article is to highlight criminalistic research possibilities of certain types of cylinder pin locks, picked by means of an manufactured self impressioning master key. The article pays attention to such problem aspects: method of self impressioning using in the way of picking a lock with a cylinder mechanism; design features of self impressioning master key to cylinder locks, concerning to the solution of diagnostic and identification issues; traces classification of self impressioning master key remaining on lock details; difficulties research on cylinder locks that were subjected to action of a self impressioning master key.

The article focuses on the issue of self-identity search in the novels of two American authors such as David Ebersghoff with his “The Danish Girl” (2000) and Jeoffrey Eugenides with his “Middlesex” (2002). Identity transformation being one of the main categories of our research makes the process of identity shift together with the influence of space travels and gender blurring on it more vivid. This article logically continues a previously started research of the self-identity issue in American fiction. The identity process is a remarkable trait of social and cultural life of all the times and is still crucial for national and family identification. As a consequence another problem arises that is differentiation between the categories of gender and sex as well as the issue of self appreciation within your family and certain location / community. Yi-Fu Tuan’s space and place theory from the perspective of experience facilitates the approach to the analysis of body and space relationnship in the novels and creates a smooth background for transition from space and body issues into body and gender field. J. Butler’s gender theory together with H. Urbach’s theory of gender and space order serve the basis for the detailed investigation of various somatic codes’ functioning and interaction. The analysis has shown the way the so-called identificational chain fluctuates both in the somatic and spacial spheres and the way these spheres interact. As a result the main protagonists Einar Wegener and Cal Stephanidis’ gender roles together with the identity change to such an extent that they both come to understanding of being trapped in their body. And it’s important to say that the process of the identity fluctuation obtains dynamic and continuous character that constantly redefines gender identity borders. The formation of an integral (artistic or familial, national, cultural) space within the text facilitates the gender identity’s transition and provides additional instruments for a better identity performance.

Death assumes many faces in Macbeth, but the variety of corpses and ghosts which tyrannise the play’s protagonist signals problems larger than one man’s ruthlessness or paranoia. Contemporary ballads often feature similar ontological confusion about where and how life ends, sometimes imagining the dead with the same sense of their vital non-being, moral authority, cunning magic, and important place in the community. Like Macbeth, these ballads also powerfully theorise the way offical power reconfigures social space, reconstructing neighborhoods as places of surveillance and households as sites of neglect, streets as settings where poverty spreads, and families as traps where new life gets put out. In fastening their gaze upon dead bodies which subvert rot and defy decay, Macbeth and contemporary ballads picture the collective social body as something that sprawls and suffers and moves but does not grow, something that the state keeps alive but also near death.
