Abstract Background The objective of the study described in this article was to examine whether, and to what extent, Australian public hospitals use knowledge terminology, i.e. a body of knowledge-related terms, on their websites. The paper also discusses the difference in the level of such communication between large and small hospitals, the factors affecting the use of the knowledge-related terms in the communication and the similarities/differences between the use of knowledge terms in Australian public hospitals and large/small companies in Australia. Methods 151 Australian public hospitals were included in the research sample: 51 large and 100 small hospitals. Using the method of content analysis, websites mentioning knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, knowledge implementation, and knowledge retention were identified, along with the number of these mentions. Descriptive statistics and chi square test of independence were used to provide answers to four research questions. Results Of the 151 hospitals included in the sample, 30 had no website and 62 (50 small and 12 large) had a single page website. The study found that there are differences between Australian public hospitals regarding the level of their knowledge communication on their websites, both between small and large hospitals and between the individual hospitals within the large and small hospital groups. Conclusions A well-known saying goes “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of”. Effective communication of knowledge-related terminologies to both internal and external stakeholders, i.e. the parties who access the websites, is therefore an indication of a knowledge focus in the public hospitals. Large hospitals are generally more active in communicating knowledge terms, although there are some exceptions. Some of the small hospitals can lead by example, but most of them do not include knowledge terminology in their communication on websites.

The Regional Library of South Sumatra or Dinas Perpustakaan Provinsi Sumatera Selatan is one of the institutions of government are aware of the importance of a documentation of data and information for the sustainability activities in an organization. Currently the personnel department in Dinas Perpustakaan Provinsi Sumatera Selatan still not using an integrated system to share information among their peers, such as information regarding metting schedule, schedule events / activities that will be held by Dinas Perpustakaan Provinsi Sumatera Selatan, employee training activities, briefings and others. In addition employees did not have the means and the platform to discuss issues related to the library to the other fellow workers. This of course will result in the delivery of information to be sluggish. To optimize the role required a concept that can be implemented to run the process of knowledge management. The concept of knowledge sharing is a concept that is implemented for the governance of library Dinas Perpustakaan Provinsi Sumatera Selatan to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge implementation shortcomings that still has not been maximized. This study uses a methodology KM Cycle or Knowledge Management Cycle consists of eight stages, namely Evaluate Existing Infrastructure, Form The KM Team, Knowledge Capture, Design KM Blue Print, Verify AND Validate KM System, Implement The KM System, Manage Change and Reward strucutre, and Post System Evaluation. The results show that current infrstructures are able to support the development of KMS in Dinspustaka.

Purpose: Knowledge management practices in general were found to influence organization performance as there is increased awareness of information that is critical to achieving the organization’s mission. The general objective of the study was to establish the effect of knowledge management practices on performance of mobile telephone companies. Methodology: The paper used a desk study review methodology where relevant empirical literature was reviewed to identify main themes and to extract knowledge gaps. Findings: The study concludes that knowledge management practices in general influences organization performance in various ways including, knowledgeable employees, better decision making in the organization, improved service offering to client, reduced operational costs, improved organizational competitiveness. This is mainly so because there is increased awareness of information that is critical to achieving the organization’s mission. The order of significance of the effect of knowledge management practices on performance of mobile telephone companies in starting with the most significant to the least is; knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, knowledge acquisition, knowledge implementation and knowledge storage respectively. Recommendations: The study points out that for effective organization administration organizations need to create a central repository system to store and retrieve information on organization reports cards, feedback on student progression, coordination of organization schedules, organization suspension, finances and other professional development which will have an overall effect on organization performance. Organizations should also install internet services and computers in order to share knowledge and improve the organization’s efficiency, performance, and competitiveness

BACKGROUND To measure sustainable improvements in the work environment, a flexible and highly responsive tool is needed that will give important focus to the implementation process. A digital checklist was developed in collaboration with key stakeholders to document the implementation of changes in eldercare sector workplaces. OBJECTIVE This paper describes the study protocol of a dissemination study that aims to examine when, why, and how the digital checklist is spread to the Danish eldercare sector following a national campaign particularly targeting nursing homes and home care. METHODS This prospective observational study will use quantitative data from Google Analytics describing use of the checklist as documented website engagement, a survey among members in the largest union in the sector, information from a central business register, and monitoring of campaign activities. The evaluation will be guided by the five elements of the RE-AIM framework: reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance. RESULTS The study was approved in June 2016 and began in October 2018. The campaign that is the foundation for the evaluation began in 2017 and ended in 2018. However, the webpage where we collect data is still running. Results are expected in 2020. CONCLUSIONS This protocol provides a working example of how to evaluate dissemination of a checklist to improve implementation of work environment initiatives in the eldercare sector in Denmark. To our knowledge, implementation in a nationwide Danish work environment has not been previously undertaken. Given that the checklist is sector-specific for work environment initiatives and developed through systematic collaboration between research and practice, it is likely to have high utility and impact; however, the proposed evaluation will determine this. This study will advance dissemination research and, in particular, the evaluation of the impact of these types of studies. Finally, this study advances the field through digital tools that can be used for evaluation of dissemination efforts (eg, Google Analytics associated with website) in the context of a rigorous research design activity.
